Wonderful service and location

Reviewed By peacelovegelato2020

Every staff member was extremely helpful and kind during our stay. One of the front desk agents helped us make a reservation in Japanese at an amazing sushi restaurant. We think it was the best meal of our lives so we were very grateful for their gracious help. The location of the hotel can't be beat with Shinjuku station just a short walk away. There's a Lawson convenience store right downstairs if you need anything, and the Golden Gai with plenty of bars is right behind the hotel. The neighborhood is lively and vibrant but the inside it's quiet and relaxing. Our room was a decent size and VERY clean. I really loved the dimmable light next to the bed. Thank you for a perfect stay! We can't wait to come back!

Best location, walk to station

We’ve been to Shinjuku many times and the Prince Hotel is by far the best location for us. We travel heavy with skis and way too much luggage. You can walk underground from the main Shinjuku station to the hotel. All the shops and restaurants are right there. Opt for a room upgrade and negotiate the price at check in. Get an upper floor for awesome views.

Good location, affordable but extremely small

Reviewed By Travelwithmetoday

Location: in Shinjuku, 10 minutes walking distance from all the restaurants, shopping, sex district, Shinjuku train station. The hotel is above a subway station. Easy access and safe. I would recommend staying in Shinjuku if you are visiting Tokyo as at night all the action is steps away. Price: booked in advance at a reduce rate which was around $140CAD per night. Size: Hotel in Japan are usually small but this was very small, the bathroom is the smallest I have seen, The room and bathroom together are smaller than a cabin on a cruiseship. The sink faucet is shared with the shower (up is the shower down is the sink). When sitting on the toilet, my knees were touching the door. Our bags were in a pile, the double size bed (not queen) was touching two walls. The room had a small fridge which was useful and it was clean. If I was going back I would try to find a hotel with larger room but if I would consider staying there again

Worst hotel in the world

Reviewed By _orkellgunnars

I was waken up in a middle of night at 3.15 am by hotel staff because water had flowed from next room over to the floor in my room. The floor in my room was like a swimming pool. But it took the staff 20 minutes to tell me what to do because nobody talks english. Worst hotel I have been to, if it is a hotel. It is more like animal zoo. Keep away from this horrible hotel and terrible service. You can probably have better sleep in the streets.

Nothing more/Nothing less

Reviewed By Lov3ly

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights while visiting Tokyo with my husband. Location/Area: kinda sorta in the red light district but more so at the further end. It wasn’t uncomfortable walking around at any time of day or night but the area is busy all the time, even 3AM. Convenience store (I think family mart) was on the next block. Always grabbed our breakfast/snacks here as the hotel did not have any restaurant. Walking to the various train stations around took generally 10min or less. The JR Shinjuku line was the furthest but a lot the time we ended up at the higashi station which was a bit closer. Room: Your average sized Japanese hotel room (small). The room was very clean and there’s room servicing daily. The TV is nice as you can mirror your phone to it wirelessly. No concerns other than size. Shared microwave available on a couple floors of the hotel and a mini fridge in the room. Overall, I would stay here again but for only a couple nights. The room is too small for a longer stay.

Great value in Kabukicho

Reviewed By Genevieve_aust

I stayed in Villa Fontaine Shinjuku for about 10 days during a recent business trip, and I found it to be terrific for the cost. Very clean rooms that are a decent size with a good sized bathroom, great friendly staff and a great location on the edge of Kabukicho...so not noisy, but close enough to everything including food, nightlife and train stations. The only disappointment was the lack of a self service laundry inside the hotel, you have to go to a public one down the road (although it's not far). I'd happily stay here again.
