OK Room, but Rude Manager
Reviewed By ricksT6346HAFirst, the room was fine and clean. However, the manager (maybe owner) was rude. Nothing was her fault. She put me in a room with a queen when my reservation said 2 doubles. My reservation e-mail "did not matter" according to her. No apology or anything. WiFi was not working, so my son went to the office. Her response was "mine is working" and that was it. No assistance or anything, just sorry for your luck (except she did not say sorry). This lady does not need to be in a customer facing position, and I encourage anyone looking to try to find other options.

The site said it was 3 miles away from the track which it wasn’t it was six but it was still an easy shot. There is no elevator which was not good for us as they gave us a room on the second floor. The room was very outdated; the carpet was disgusting, one of the chairs was stained with who knows what, the covers had cigarette burns in them but they did smell freshly laundered. The water ran continually in the tub & there wasn’t great water pressure. The hair dryer blew up. We were happy each time with the desk staff. The continental breakfast was normal & the apples were fresh & tasty!

Clean and comfortable and that's what we needed
Reviewed By 388nancymWe stayed there for two nights for the Martinsville NASCAR race in April 2022, and our main objective was to be able to walk to the track. True the motel is not pretty or new and needs a total refurbishment, but the sheets and bathroom were clean and the shower was hot. The lobby had a good selection of packaged breakfast items and coffee, and the manager came around in the afternoon to see if we needed any fresh linens. And when cars were still trying to get out of the parking lots hours after the race ended, we were especially happy that we stayed there.

Reviewed By Companytravels252Booked hotel and front desk is horrible. Wi-Fi didn’t work. Room is gross. Look like a room that’s been used and trashed over and over again. Inside rooms prevent you from seeing if your vehicle is being broken into.

ABSOLUTELY AWFUL
Reviewed By Barbara B10/31/2018 - We were just there this past weekend for the NASCAR, which I realize we paid higher prices because of it being race weekend. However, I wouldn't have valued this to worth $10 a night. We had a not cancellable booking unfortunately, we were stuck. We were put in a smoking room, which is not was not on my confirmation. Room was filthy, bedspread and shower curtain were stained, previously guests left clothes that they didnt get rid of before our arrival, toilet didn't flush correctly, had to do it twice, bathroom sink didn't drain properly. Stuff was splattered on the walls espeically in the bathroom area, don't even want to guess as to what. TV sucked - couldn't even get major networks, world series was on and we couldn't get the channel. Seriously. We asked three times for two extra towels never got them. Microwave did not work, fridge barely did. Internet was beyond spotty, kept going out. We checked out early and didn't stay the last night. I told the owner exactly why he said "what can i do" I said at least credit my card for the third night - he said okay and yet he NEVER did it. THIS PLACE WAS AWFUL.

Non-smoking rooms available. Weekly rates for those staying longer. Between May and August, large pool is open for guests.

Reviewed By Annie8okPower outage had us searching for showers so we got a room. Check in clerk said he can’t rent for a few hours, and I was fine with that. We wanted it overnight anyway. A few hours later he said we had to leave or pay more. You can’t trust them here.

Reviewed By Chain02This is absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I would give it zero stars if I could. I’ll start with a positive. The girl working the front desk was really nice and very apologetic. Now for the bad stuff. The furniture in the whole hotel was very dated and not in the best shape. The elevator vibrated and screeched and made a grinding noise as it arrived at the second floor. We got in the room and the first thing we noticed was the broken closet door. We put the bag on the bed and noticed stains on the comforter and then noticed the fitted sheet had cigarette burns. I called the front desk and was told they don’t have any replacement king comforters but they could give us a replacement fitted sheet. Fine, whatever. As we pulled the bedding back to take off the fitted sheet, we noticed more stains on the underside of the comforter. Once we took off the fitted sheet there was a bloodstain about 4” in diameter on the under pad. At this point I took all the sheets to the front desk. When I got to the front desk my wife called me because the comforter and pillow for the pull out bed both had big yellow stains. As the girl at the front desk was there alone I asked if she could call the manager. The manager had nothing to offer except a new room, but not one with the king bed our room had so she offered a refund which I gladly accepted. When asked why they didn’t have any replacement king linens I got two different BS answers, neither of which was acceptable. How do you not have spare linen in a HOTEL?! But wait, there’s more! One of the lamp shades was stained and it looked like there were boogers on it. We lifted the cushion of one of the chairs and there was at least a handful of some kind of condiment wrappers. The garbage can had unknown brown stuff crusted on the bottom, and there was dried food on the front of the oven door. The tile in the kitchenette was also sticky. 0/10 would not recommend, don’t know if I ever want to stay a Choice Hotel branded property ever again at this point.

Reviewed By Sexy2901Not clean, no light in bathroom, no phone in room, on refrigerator, no ice, no one available at front desk. Breakfast are wasn’t clean. No cleaning being done until check on Sunday. Bed was hard and pillows were the size of a throw pillow insert. I think it was actually an insert for a pillow cover. 4 of them don’t cover the width of the bed. Sink and shower had contractor dirt left in them; I had to clean them both. I was very disappointed!!

Good room at good price
Reviewed By kathye505Clean room, good service at a reasonable price. Front Desk Staff was friendly and the housekeeping was very efficient and remembered a list of things she could do instead of a complete cleaning of the room. Would stay here again.
