Overnight stay in Eygalieres

Mas Notre Dame is delightful. The room we stayed in was very comfortable with a generous bathroom and a private garden just moments from the pool. The grounds are extensive and well looked after and the service top notch with a generous breakfast included in the price. I've stayed in more expensive hotels that aren't as good so would highly recommend Mas Notre Dame if you're in the area.

Exceptionally nice staff, cozy rooms with little patios, terrific ambience... really no complaints, and certainly well worth the reasonable prices. I would return any time. The grounds are compact but well crafted -- it feels both out of the way and well appointed.

Great location

Stayed here for 2 nights in the Rose room - the facilities are ok - quirky perhaps - door locks - light switches - shower take some getting used to. The large bed was very comfortable - lots of cupboard space, mini fridge and tea coffee set up. The breakfast was very good. the staff here are absolutely amazing - they were there to help us and offer advice. Eygalieres is a beautiful village that hosts a wonderful market on Fridays. The Maison Hache is in the middle of the village with access to parking nearby. Many cafes and restraurants are footsteps away. Very nice place to spend a couple of nights. Thanks to all the staff who made our stay memorable.

High Standards make things tricky!

We have stayed at many Chambres des Hotes in France, some of which have been absolutely amazing so it is very difficult to then be objective when comparing such establishments. We arrived at La Mas du Bout after a very long day so were grateful to have finally arrived. We kept out hostess updated as to the timing of our arrival so our first disappointment was to not be offered any kind of drink. We asked for ice and were at least given some of that. (Our hostess was obviously in a hurry to go out for the evening.) The setting is lovely-beautiful pool and nice gardens. Breakfast was the usual french offering of yohurt, fruit, bread, cheese and preserves with juice and coffee. The room was well presented and very clean. However...there were several points which dropped our rating to average. 1. No hot water for the first 24 hours until we mentioned this to our hostess 2. Wi-fi basically doesn't work at all 3. No air-conditioning which wasn't too bad but would be unbearable if it was hot 4. No bathroom toiletries for hair 5. Hairdryer only blows cold air 6. Door to our room did not lock at all so when we went walking I felt like I had to lock our valuables in the car after someone else said their room had been robbed!!! 7. No tea/coffee making facilities and no offer to make this 8. Very little information given by our hostess about the area or general welcome 9. Very little sign posting to find the place even when you get right there 10.The bedroom is up a very steep staircase with quite a dangerous balustrade and would be tricky for anyone who was slightly unfit. 11. The bed was very hard and had a plastic coated mattress protector which was noisy and hot Eygalieres' is a very sweet little village and we enjoyed the market but were disappointed with our stay at Le Mas du Bout.

Best to make a pass on this one

Reviewed By S Amanda S

This place is difficult to find - even the people in the town do not know how to get there. This place was booked for us by the Dept of Tourism in Les Baux and it should never be recommended unless someone is looking for something very, very basic and not the least bit charming. The room was very sparse, the "breakfast" consisted of cold baguettes that had been toasted sometime before we arrived for breakfast and the hostess could take some lessons in hospitality. I would NEVER recommend this place.

Great terrace with good food in a chic village

Great dinner on the terrace with friends. It's well located in the chic village of Eygalieres, and hidden behind a stone wall so you don't get expose to the traffic - and perfect for a walk around the village after eating. Staff is wonderful and English speaking for those not ready to practice their French.

Fabulous Hospitality and a really relaxing stay in a quirky but traditional house

Reviewed By Catherine T

We stayed at Mas Grimaud with our 7 month old son for 5 days as we were attending a wedding locally. Despite our pigeon French and the couples total lack of English (their daughter does speak English well) we got on really well. It was a very homely welcome (it was like having acquired a French Grandmother). They provided a high chair for our son and travel cot and nothing was too much bother. Breakfast was on the veranda and varied from day to day with croissants, omelette, fresh fruit and always something for our son too. There are only a few minor tweaks required to make it excellent to be honest. Newer lounges by the pool, newer games in the garden, larger wine glasses and sorting out the squeaky floorboards and I would happily spend a couple of weeks here!
