Reviewed By kimberlyH22I picked this hotel because it was rated higher than the others in the area but I was disappointed. Beware breakfast is $14/pp and not worth the expense. If your reservations say breakfast is included make sure you ask for your vouchers at check-in or you’ll be charged for breakfast.

The beautiful Hampton Inn Dover hotel is located off Route 13 traveling north or south, next to Wal-Mart and a quarter mile north of the Dover Mall. Our Delaware Hampton Inn is also easily accessible from Route 1 at exit 104. The hotel is approximately 45 minutes south of Wilmington, Delaware where you can catch a train or attend a Wilmington Blue Rocks' baseball game, and approximately 40 minutes north of the Delaware beaches, featuring tax free shopping outlets and many fine dining choices. Ms. Tyra quickly checked us in to our room and graciously offered us snacks and drinks to ease our travel fatigue. We encountered multiple problems during the air show where Kevin Maloney went above and beyond his day to day job description to save the weekend. The security guards, specifically the night security, took it upon himself to keep and eye on our assets outside so we could sleep peacefully. Over all the experience with this hotel was top notch and highly recommend anyone traveling book with them!

The entire hotel smelled and was clean - our rooms were extremely comfortable - this was the first of the rooms in the comfort/quality chain that had a handicapped room with space to move around

Renovating to a nice modern/chic appearance, but still IHG service!
Reviewed By Mark_and_NeidaThe staff members here are exceptional for a chain hotel. Despite the ongoing renovations, they were helpful, friendly, and patient. Our room wasn't *quite* done yet... little things that didn't affect our stay were noticeable, like unfinished trim, a missing bar in the closet, etc. That being said, this was the first bed in three hotels that didn't feel like sleeping on a slab in a morgue. The new blackout curtains are set in side channels, a clever design that really keeps all the light out. The wifi is rock solid and the new TVs are HUGE. The "executive suite" we got upgraded into because our chosen room was unavailable had loads of room to spread out. The hot breakfast was relatively good, even including turkey sausage for the non-beast-eating set, and the staff supporting the buffet was fabulous despite the challenges from the ongoing construction. Great value for the money in Dover. Update from our last review in 2013: You can now u-turn at Kentwood a block to the south, so getting on the northbound side of US13 isn't so awkward any more. The beds aren't quite as nice, but everything else has improved. Good job IHG.

Reviewed By Flyer01197403732Soiled/stained linen and comforter. Horrible first experience at Home2 hotel. Horrible smell in room. Could not adjust air conditioner to lower temperature to reduce the smell. Dust and rust on lighting fixtures. Badly stained desk chair and should be discarded. Had to sleep fully dressed. Housekeeping staff should check rooms regularly to ensure hotel standards are met.

Reviewed By adT7615SRDid eat at the Sugar Factory (and have a few times as nothing else was open) Food was average at best, price point was VERY high. Have purchased a sandwich at the small shop on the other side of the casino--lettuce was wilted, had to through out most of the sandwich. Best bet in the casino is the Italian place or the burger place in the back of the casino. Please bring back the Garden Cafe! Sugar Factory is horrible. Wish Dover Downs still owned this place.

Reviewed By ReHOMOthBeachWe checked into this hotel because it was pet friendly. After unpacking, a school bus unloaded kids at the hotel. NON-stop running back and forth. We are in a two room suite. Our dog keeps barking because of the noise. Several calls to the front desk. All we get is ok, ok, ok, or I will let my manager know in the morning. Checking out early. FYI Liquor store across the parking lot. Maybe that's why these kids are unsupervised and staff could care less. DON'T STAY HERE!!!
