Very comfortable hotel in a great location. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Highly recommended. Bar is open until 0100hrs every day . I did not have the breakfast as there was no options for vegans but there is a buffet breakfast available. Room was nicely decorated and the facilities were very good. Room was also nice and warm upon arrival... Important when you get off a motorcycle after 700km in rain and cold!

Overnight break in Cherbourg

Reviewed By OnAir64046

The hotel is by a marina and car park. On entering the hotel we noticed that the reception area and bar area with breakfast area looked like it had recently been refurbished and gave a good first impression of the hotel, but on leaving reception to find our room on first floor the decoration changed and needs to be updated. First room we were allocated was 134 and the bed had seen better days. The base was worn and the mattress sagging in the middle. Second room 128 was better, but the room itself was tired and needs an update ( we think the bathroom and toilet had been refurbished) they was only one window that opened and it wouldn’t lock open. Only two teabags and two milks on the hospitality tray and some coffee sachets. Not great for two people. We were only supplied with one bottle of water too. Storage area for our cases and clothes was shabby and carpet seen better days. The view was ok. Breakfast was laid out and help yourself, but a small area so crowded when you were making drinks or getting food. Reception were helpful and friendly. We probably wouldn’t return to this hotel unless the rooms were updated. Disappointed. We did enjoy our visit to Cherbourg though

Excellent Hotel and Wonderful Staff

My husband and I stayed here for two nights with our daughter and grand daughter and I have to say the staff were amazing so helpful, when I was booking they even e.mailed me pictures of the wheelchair accessible room just to make sure it would be suitable for our needs. They organized taxis to pick us up from the ferry which is only a short drive away. The breakfast is Continental with a good selection and something for everyone. I was only sorry that we had only two days in the hotel as I would have gladly stayed longer if the return ferry was not booked. I would love to return here as it is the perfect location close to shops and restaurants and amazing staff 100% from me.

Worth the money!

I stayed at this hotel twice, in a "room superior" which includes a section with a couch and a small coffee table. I thought that the bed was quite comfortable, the room is nice and clean, the couch is also quite comfortable... The two things i would have whished for is a small fridge, and a slightly larger bathroom. I did not dine at the hotel - my experience from most other hotels are, that the food are not up to the standarts of established restaurants, and often more expensive.

Rooms are clean and relatively comfortable for very short stay. Food absolutely appalling, if you can in fact access any. The breakfast buffet was almost empty when we came to breakfast and despite being charged €10.50 per person we were told all of the food was eaten by other guests!!! The woman who ran the breakfast and who we later dealt with on reception was the rudest person I have ever encountered anywhere in the world. Lady who ran the bar was lovely! I would prefer to sleep in my car than to ever book either Ibis hotel in Cherbourg again!

Great value in a convenient location to port

Reviewed By willoDorset

Ideally located, close to the port. We were travelling by bicycle, and secure storage was at a small charge in the garage. The self service breakfast was fresh, and very good. In particular the coffee. There were tasty local meats, cheeses, and breads. In addition to fruits, yogurts and eggs. Reception recommended we eat at the grill, 5 min walk. Which was excellent, great food and prices. Also you 15% discount as a guest of apart city.

The worst Premiere Classe Hotel in France I suspect

Reviewed By andy50210

I have stayed in Premier Classe hotels in France since the early 1990's and all over France, I can say this is the worst that I have ever stayed in. It's certainly convinient location, and I will say that it's perfectly possible that my room was an exception. The room had 3 single beds which seems unusual, normally it's a double bed with bunk above, but the door to the toilet was positioned so it could barely open, as was the main door to the room. The toilet had been broken at some point and poorly repaired with a toilet seat that did not fit, it would not up and sitting on the toilet was very uncomfortable. The heatiung did not work and neither did the internet. The door handle fell off inside the room and the beds were very uncomfortable. I expect that its due for refurbishment, I have not seen a PC hotel this poorly maintained before, also it was dirty which is unheard of in a Premier Classe hotel in my experience.

Missive disappointment

I booked a room at this hotel, as i wanted to be downtown in Cherbourg during my stay.. When i arrived, i parked in a public parkinglot behind the hotel. i got in and was shown to the room i had booked. When I then tried to get acces to the WIFI, there was no connection. I went back to the reception to ask if they could get me WIFI as this was important as i was on a businesstrip. they then tried on several places in the hotel, but a signal could only be fond in the lobby. therefore i had to change to another hotel. Following that, they insisted to charge me for the full stay even though they could not deliver on the room with WIFI

nice hotel poor surroundings

Reviewed By john d

Hotel good but poor surroundings as very run down area. Homeless and winos in the street outside. This was not too bad for us but I would not recommend it for say a single woman. Staff were very helpful and the free breakfast was good and plentiful. We had two days in Arromanche and three in Cherbourg and with hindsight we should have done it the other way round. Not a lot to do in Cherbourg. City of the sea was amazing but the Liberation Museum was for me disappointing.
