Bed, shower, and toilet were all very clean. Floors were dirty and could use a vacuum or could use new carpet overall. Killed many small spiders in the room during our two night stay. Did the job when traveling on a budget

Hotel is plainJane, but clean, comfortable bed and great shower pressure. Front desk staff member was very nice and accommodating. Fast food joints, BBQ restaurant and gas stations all very close. Right off of I-65. **only knock was no breakfast, only coffee.

The room was very dirty and not vacuumed. There was a strong smell to the room, we had to buy a candle to help alleviate the stench. The property was very old and run down. We were only at hotel to sleep so we continued to stay. If your looking for a cheap place to stay and don’t mind older and run down, this was a decent option.

Mammoth Lodge

Great location

Reviewed By Dwightfranklin1

We stayed three nights in a room in the "Heritage" section of the Lodge at Mammoth Caves. The lodge is in an excellent location. We were within a short walk from the visitors center and the "Historical Entrance" of the cave. I don't know if it is because of staffing shortages from Covid, but they do not clean your room until you check out. This would have been good to know in advance, but it wasn't a deal breaker. The location more than made up for it. There was a handle missing off of the dresser and the back of the TV remote was missing, but that also may be due to staffing shortages. The room was clean and comfortable. That's what matters most. This is a great place to stay. We saw deer and wild turkey, and we were able to hike the trails without having to drive to them. The trailhead started outside the lodge. I would have given it five stars if not for the maintenance issues.

Abhorrent!!!

Reviewed By Dutchtown

Disturbing, disgusting, unfortunate. The red flags started before exiting the car. * The small trash can in front of the office door was overflowing with trash. * The glass on the office door was cracked Upon entering the office, the clerk, later identified as Matthew, was asleep behind the counter with his feet up on the back counter. On the front counter next to register and directly in front of us was his half-smoked cigarette. Gross. Our room wasn't ready, so we were assigned #108. Given this shady and shaky start to our visit, I needed to inspect the room. Glad I did! The room was devoid of pictures on the walls. Only scuff marks. Scuff marks? On the walls??? The mattress crunched when my my friend sat on it. Crunchy mattresses??? I then noticed the first of 2 stains on one of the beds. Sure looked like blood! The 2nd stain appeared to be oil-based. Strike 3 was the wad of long, black hair on the pillow. I returned to the office, told Matthew we would not be staying there and to expect a call from Hotwire for a refund. Matthew was completely indifferent. Before exiting the lot, Matthew was spotted smoking the rest of that cigarette staring directly at that overflowing trash can. What a sad state of affairs.

Glamping ⭐️

Reviewed By kellydb22

Understand this is glamping, not a hotel room, just to set your expectations down the right path. Location is great, especially if you are going to the national park. I’ve slept on cheap air mattresses that were more comfortable so know when they say the interior is authentic, they mean it. When you check in, you have the option to choose an express check-in, which we did bc we knew when we got there, we wanted to head right to the rooms and shower bc we hiked first & had dinner plans. I’m not sure why they give you this option bc they completely disregard this request once you’re there. The male owner INSISTED we all get out of the car and sit down for story time, even though I was sick with a migraine from the heat, before giving us our key. When we told him we had read the history online, he acted like he didn’t believe us and quizzed us on it. Lol- I thought we were on some hidden camera show. Even though we got all the quiz questions right, fist pump, he still insisted on telling us the history that we read online. They do address the cultural appropriation but don’t seem to be doing anything to ‘fix’ it. I understand preserving a time in history but they are still profiting off of another culture. Maybe donate some of the profits to Native American organizations, give them some of the money you’re making off their culture. Remember, you are preserving cultural appropriation, not Native American culture. Just a thought.
