Quirky, Fun Experience; Caring Ownership

Reviewed By SCShaker

My wife and I attended a family wedding in Roxbury over Memorial Day. I had made a reservation with the hotel and asked for a first floor suite with a shower in the bathroom. I advised them that I did not do steps well and had difficulty climbing into a regular bath tub. When we arrived the reservation had been misinterpreted and we had a second floor room with a soaker tub. I complained to the staff on duty, but they said they were full and we could not move rooms. So we dragged our luggage up the stairs to the second floor and prepared to make the best of it. The next morning, I had a very difficult time using the soaking tub. We saw one of the owners, Greg, in the parking, explained our reservation issue and situation. He pulled several strings to get us a room we could use more easily and helped us move our luggage. After that, this place is wonderful. We were in the Frozen Falls room in the Mansion at Stratton Falls. It was small, but with sculptures of ice on the walls and shiny chrome surfaces. The grounds are extensive and immaculate. A good continental breakfast is offered. I highly recommend this place. The rating relates to the reservation issue. The ownership is caring and helpful. These guys are not just here to make money, but also to offer quality service. You gotta get to this place if you're in the area.

Unfortunate service

Reviewed By juliebradley68

While the hotel is clean and rooms are clean, the service was questionable. We have a service animal and know the laws, rules and regulations. We were asked to leave the breakfast area because of the animal. Not the staff or managers rules, but the new Hilton rules passed down.

Very Nice Casino ,great staff. Restaurants Aveage.

Resorts World is a very nice casino with very accommodating staff. The restaurants within the Casino are good to average but not spectacular. The Steak restaurant is a tier two/three steakhouse and needs to be upgraded. Comparable to a “Firebirds”,etc but not Even close to a NY City,Chicago or Vegas style steakhouse. Bars are great. Great accommodations whether it’s the Main hotel or Alder.

Very poor experience

Reviewed By R7437QSbobd

My family and I have been coming to this resort for 40 years. That’s correct. Multiple times each year and for forty years. We absolutely loved the Villa Roma and mAde great memories. Over the past decade the hotel has gotten worse every year. This place was never a five star resort and the rooms all need a major overhaul. Nevertheless, we could look past the age if they simply maintained what they have. The housekeeping is abysmal and we actually started to bring our own cleaning supplies. Linens don’t fit the bed and have staining. Basic maintenance is also non existent. When we checked in this winter our room had basic issues like a cracked toilet seat, missing light bulbs, a non working telephone, electric outlets that were hanging out of the junction boxes, etc. The pool was even shut down by the health department when we were there last summer. Forget renovations as the property maintenance has gotten away from them. When you talk to management they are always rich with excuses. Yes everyone is understaffed. But the hotels issues have been the same for over a decade. Go back and read some of the older reviews on here. You will see the same themes going back ten years. We will be back in June. I have never been compelled to write a review and really don’t feel good about a negative one. Sadly if the state of affairs are the same, a forty year tradition will be over. Let’s hope this hotel listens to their customers before it’s too late. It may already be too late for this customer and his family.

Perfect weekend getaway

Reviewed By Isabelleinnyc

Still basking in the afterglow of a perfect weekend at Hotel Dylan. I arrived after hours on Friday night, and Darryl, the General Manager, kindly called to make sure I had received the emailed check-in instructions. When I told him I was just pulling in, he stayed to show me around and was an attentive host all weekend. My 2nd floor East King Room was beautiful and comfortable. I loved the modern but warm decor and appreciated the thoughtful touches like a tray to dry boots, a separate vanity with flattering mirror, heated light in the bathroom, and everything needed to make S'mores. The room rate was great value! I enjoyed takeout from the adjacent Santa Fe restaurant and nearby Phoenicia Diner, the hotel fire pits, and loved skiing at Belleayre on Saturday and Sunday. Couldn't be happier with my stay!
