Reviewed By ELee914My partner and I stayed here at the end of a 2.5 week trip around the Mediterranean during which we stayed at two Belmonds and a Four Seasons. We thought Cap Vermell was fabulous! We came here after a less-than-stellar experience at Finca Serena which ended with us leaving early. We discovered Cap Vermell via AmEx FHR and were delighted to read it had been built recently as a Park Hyatt, one of our favorite chains. It definitely still has the Park Hyatt vibe when you come here. We were upgraded to a Garden View Junior Suite which had fantastic views of the property and surrounding countryside, large & comfortable balcony and tons of space. There was enough space one of us could take a call and other could do something else undisturbed. Rooms are very beautiful and modern with an iPad and SmartTV with which you can use Chromecast. Bed was one of the most comfortable of our trip with top-notch linens. Toiletries are high-end (Bottega Veneta). I also loved the complimentary minibar stocked with water, colas and beer - such a thoughtful surprise! I read a lot of negativity about their dining options, but we found the food to be excellent and well-priced so maybe they've worked out the kinks from the transition from PH to Cap Vermell. We dined at Balearic and Tapas, but unfortunately Voro was fully booked during our stay. Next time! The staff is excellent. Whenever I made a request, the item would arrive like magic to our room within minutes (impressive given how spread out the property is!). Restaurant staff were super attentive and well-meaning. Because the restaurant wasn't too busy, the bartender rolled a bar cart to our table at dinner and made the cocktail in front of us. Such a treat! They really seem to care about their guests here. Guest Services was also so helpful when it came to scheduling a COVID test for my flight back to the US. It feels like this place could benefit from a bit more marketing and perhaps developing the local town into a bit more of a destination (restaurants, etc). We only happened to take a chance on this place, despite the somewhat tepid reviews, because our early departure from the other hotel and discovering it via FHR. The pricing was not cheap, but extremely reasonable compared to other places of this tier and overall, an excellent value. Highly recommend and would love to return!

The suites are fantastic; each suite is different and unique in itself. The view from the lawn, overlooking the ocean, is outstanding and a treat to the eyes. Very helpful and courteous staff. Food is just out of the world. Truly gourmet!

Reviewed By iikwhiteplumWe enjoyed our stay at the Canyamel Park & Spa, We had a nice big room (€Extra) with hot tub on balcony, slept good but the air con from the hotel opposite was a bit irritating if you sleep with The door open. The staff are great in all area’s especially the restaurant Manager and his Team! The buffet was lacking at times in quality and variation (really struggled some nights! You can’t go BB Because of the lack of restaurants in the area. So to the Director please look seriously at your Buffet and discuss it with the head chef I’m sure this opinion is shared by other guests I even saw a gentleman one night walk out after trying to tell the restaurant manager is dislikes!! I want to finish on a positive note, It’s NOT a bad hotel infact it’s really well located and very relaxing, Lovely pool area with service and very quiet. There is a spa, didn’t use it because we traveled around quite a lot. I didn’t give it 5 because of the buffet, it would have to improve, oh they need a new baker it’s very bland in taste ? The desert is the same every night ice is poor for 4* Well that’s it, I would go again 70/30 Enjoy your holiday fantastic beach area! Tom

Everything was great, new apartment, very spacious, helpful and friendly staff, and the food was really great. However I have to highlight 3 people, Chef Maki, super friendly and efficient, Noelia, very kind and an exemplary professionalism and especially Maria Salgado. Maria is a mixture of hurricane and coconut candy. All the compliments we could give him would be little to enhance all the well-being she made us feel. Reviewed By Resort429181First tíme writing review and not gonna write long story. 4*hotel definitely not this, but you have to always try to find best from everything and enjoy vacation, but behave one of ppl in restaurant this evening make me so upset to write this. I was after dinner and come back for some fruit and saw glasses for water and I felt dehydrated after whole day and just want to take little water and lady arogantly said No. I have to put glass and left. Doesn’t matter if you don’t have all inclusive, but she can said it different way and who can say no for just water. Definitely not coming back. There is more... Who looking for nice beach, there is not sandy beach in front hotel.

Las vistas desde el balcón merecen mucho la pena. La zona está rodeada también de un pinar y una laguna y la hace mágica a la par que salvaje. El desayuno y la cena (que era lo que teníamos) buenísimos y muy muy variados. Los cocineros/camareros estupendos. Mención especial al Director del centro, Juan. El trato ha sido muy familiar. Nos consiguió hasta una mochila de porteo para nuestro bebé de su propia hija porque la olvidamos en Alicante. Muy agradecidos. Siempre atento a ver cómo te encuentras. También a Paco, jefe de sala del comedor (creo). Encantador, amable, informando sobre rutas y calas, sonriente... Un amor! Y Piedad, con los mismos adjetivos que el anterior e igual de cariñosa. Antoni, todos... Personal de 12 sobre 10. Parece una familia!!! Nos vamos con pena deseando volver! Infinitamente recomendable!

Bedbugs and appalling treatment by managers... disgusted and still itchy :(
Reviewed By thelanahCons: Bedbugs. Stayed 7 nights. Got bitten on my arm the first night, trunk the second night, neck, legs, and feet the third and fourth night. Bites showed up also on the last day? I waited 4 nights to make sure because it's a nice looking place and the managers seemed nice at first, but I was getting new, very itchy bites every morning when I woke up before going out for the day and had 3 more nights to go! I did not have windows or doors open at night since I use AC so could not have been mosquitos. Complained to the managers, Xisco and Laura, who said it must be mosquitos and claimed that their mattresses were new and with mattress protectors. The mattresses were neither new nor covered. They replaced the mattresses with actual new mattresses (in plastic packaging) and bedding the day of the complaint. On the 6th night, I did actually get bitten by mosquitoes outside at a restaurant during dinner. I could see the mosquitoes and could tell that my body reacted completely differently to the mosquito bites since they went away after a few hours, while I still have the bedbug bites from the first night 7 nights later. At check out today, I asked for a discount to my stay due to the poor experience. I have stayed in many hotels and airbnbs around the world and have never had or made any complaints or experienced this before. I did not ask for a full refund because I know it's been a tough year for hospitality businesses, but I think it's only fair to provide some act of goodwill since no hotel guest should go through something like this. I also did not want to write a negative review since I understand the impact this can have on businesses and they seemed like nice people. Unfortunately, they denied my claims and then accused me of being the kind of guest that would go complaining without reason to save money! They further insulted me by saying I was complaining because I didn't have any money, and then both started YELLING at me in front of other guests. Laura slapped her hands at me and Xisco pointed at the door and told me that was the way out. This is not how any guest should be treated. I am appalled and will be making a formal complaint to booking.com where I made the reservation. If this ever happens to you in Spain, you must demand a "hoja de reclamaciones" on site so that you can file a complaint with the local authorities. Pros: Good location, my room was renovated with kitchen, and provided good recommendations for the area
