Harbour Towne Inn is wonderful. It sits near the end of the harbour… quiet, yet close to all the activity. This B&B is delightfully decorated, with a comfy bed in a spacious room, private bath with mini fridge and microwave, and has a wide deck outside with seating that affords a relaxing view of the harbor. It was adorably decorated, and had an abundance of colorful flowers all about the property. Stephanie is a very gracious host - she serves a breakfast of scrumptious quiches, homemade muffins, fresh fruit, fresh juice and coffee, and even serves warm cookies in the evening. It’s picture postcard perfect!

Highlight of our Maine Coast road trip

Reviewed By PDXSteph

My mom and I stayed here for 2 nights in May, and this stay was our favorite in a 10 road trip up the coast of Maine. We stayed on the top floor, which was a challenge for my 83 year old mom, but she was mentally prepared for the stairs and wanted to stay at the top for the better views (good views are on all floors, though). We ended up getting a couple of dinners to go so we could enjoy the deck. The breakfasts are AMAZING! I am still dreaming of them. Both of us are allergic to gluten, and it was no problem to accommodate us. Alex and staff are very attentive, even helped with the luggage when we got in. I left a few things behind, and Alex and Maria kindly shipped them back to me - in the midst of the busy tourist season. I highly recommend a stay in Boothbay Harbor (great spot to base day trips, and really nice people everywhere!) and I highly recommend staying at Harborage Inn.

Great place to stay!

When you look at the outside of this hotel, it seems to be a little tired looking. The rooms, however, are fantastic! So much room, great views, comfortable bed and pillows, and very clean! The bathroom was a bit small, but adequate. Breakfast was yogurt and muffins and fruit, but enough. Coffee was good. Staff was extremely friendly. Definitely a place to consider staying at when in town.

2 Night Stay

Reviewed By Judyp5grand

So, I didn’t realize this “inn” is basically a motel. It’s clean, comfortable beds, very small….bathroom very small, they give you slivers of soap. Stained tile in bathroom from a leak above. I would call it a tired 80’s look. It was not a place I looked forward to returning to for a respite after a morning & afternoon of touring. The lady who checked us in was efficient, but, don’t try to ask any questions as she has her “Schpiel” that will ultimately answer your most of your ?’s. She does NOT like to be interrupted….I guess it throws her off track. Who knows, it’s a little off putting though for someone in the hospitality industry. Our first night we were awakened by sounds about 1:30 am that sound like they were throwing around boulders. That went on for about an hour before they settled down. Sunday morning we were awakened at 6:30 am by totally inconsiderate smokers who chose to use the chairs under our window for smoking and talking. If you stay here, my advice would be to remove those chairs. The front desk response was “oh, folks are not supposed to smoke there, but, guess what? There was no sign saying so an no one to stop them. Getting back to check in, we asked the woman about restaurant recommendations and her response was “I don’t eat out, so, I can’t say, similar to what another reviewer wrote. Bottom line, I would not recommend this place. Spend a little more money and get a more pleasant experience. Judy May 2022

Good location but lacking basic amenities

Reviewed By Yankee33

I love the vintage motels and quirky places found along the nation's highways and I so wanted to give this place a better review. The owner was so fun to chat with and I enjoyed visiting with his adopted cat, Oscar. The Mid-Town is just a short walk to Boothbay Harbors stores and restaurants. Being 50's style, it comes with no A/C, coffee maker, hair dryer, fridge, microwave, or ice machine. I can handle that, but no cloth bathmat? No facial tissue? A bathroom with absolutely no place for your toiletries? The room came with a limited amount of outlets, and none in the very small bathroom. The heater is in the wall, and would be dangerous for children to touch. We had Room #8, which required a climb of about 8 stone steps making it quite the challenge for us to get our luggage and belongings up them. I would recommend rooms 1-7 so you can pull up to your door. Assuming the owner plans to keep this motel for some time, remodeling of the property is in order.

Beautiful location…service lacking

Reviewed By MEM81_80

We love Spruce Point Inn and try to visit in June each year as an official kick off to our summer. The location is beautiful however we found many of the amenities and the service lacking this year. The hot tub in the front of the hotel pool was not set up for starters, and there were small things like the gift shop not being set-up, the ice and vending machines gone, etc. When we mentioned to staff that the place didn’t seem like it was fully open for guests we were told “the season really hasn’t started up yet.” Could have fooled us as we paid top dollar for a room expecting the resort to be fully open and operational. Just not up to the standard that it once was sadly. Management can do better to make sure guests have access to all amenities starting in May when the resort opens up. We will return again but never in the early summer months if this will be the standard.
