We booked for 11 days. Location is central, staff is friendly, appartement was clean. But our appartement like many others was next to the parking with a dirty wall on the opposite side. No place to sit on a terrace. The whole site is in poor condition. Our experience was nowhere near what we expected or what is on the website.

Great to be en France again!

Reviewed By nikkihY3850GJ

A warm welcome from Michel and Irene, and a friendly family run hotel made sure we had a great holiday. The room was lovely and bed very comfortable - we slept so well! Everything was clean, the pool was warm and the beer from the bar cold - what more could you want? Breakfast had a good variety, and the chef kindly accommodated my food allergies when we had an evening meal (which was yummy!). Parking undercover for the motorbike was a welcome bonus. Overall a great stay and we'd happily go again. Thank you Michel and Irene - wishing you a successful season.

Not as expected

Reviewed By Saveyteraveller

We stayed at this hotel at the beginning of September and chose it because of the reviews. We wanted a queen bed rather than standard 4ft 6ins bed and so asked for a superior room, for which we had to pay extra. When we arrived early, we were told the room was not ready and to come back after 3pm when there “may or may not be someone to check us in” The room we were given had a queen sized bed in it but was not the advertised size of a superior room. In fact it was quite pokey. We had coffee making /tea making facilities in the room but no milk. The safe was located about 7feet from the flor on a top shelf in the wardrobe and we had to stand on a chair to look inside it! At our first breakfast there seemed to be a problem with the orange juicer and they had run out of croissants, so the choice was bread or pain chocolate. Although pictures of the “hotel” show a bar with 3 comfy chairs, these are the only ones available and the only place to relax in apart from your room. During our time at the hotel we never saw the bar open. Consequently there was no place at the hotel to get a drink or meal other breakfast. Altogether not a good start to our experience of the hotel. After a couple of days when a woman manager was in charge, things improved and she was very cheerful and helpful. On the plus side I would say the hotel was in good decorative order, immaculately clean and in an ideal situation. The owners had obviously tried to upgrade and modernise the place, but unfortunately not all modern technology worked to their advantage. To call it a hotel is misleading. I would put in it more in the category of guest house/bed and breakfast. Quests need to be aware that no meals other than breakfast are available and the owners need to do something about the safes before a guest has an accident.

A great beach hotel

The Kastel has lovely views of the beach and promenade! The staff is excellent and the hotel restaurant has really delicious food. Julie, one of the staff members, recommended Cafe du Port in Combrit which is a short drive from Benodet. The seafood is worth the drive, perfect lobster! Also, the Relais Thalasso and Spa is associated with the hotel. The facials and massages are amazing. We were blessed with beautiful weather!

Don’t bother booking during covid uncertainty

Reviewed By claireduggan82

We were so disappointed with the response from Villa Ti An Amiral after having to change our holiday plans. The British government advised against all non essential travel to France the day before we were due to travel to the Villa Ti An Amiral due to the increasing covid rates in France. We were so disappointed not to be able to travel. Our ferry company were flexible with our booking and allowed us to move our booking dates to next summer. I emailed the Villa Ti An Amiral as soon as we heard the news that we were unable to travel and explained how disappointed we were that we would not be able to stay at the Villa anymore. I wrote that I understood that there may not be anything that they could do but asked whether there was any way that we could change our holiday dates or be able to have some reduction to the cost of the holiday. Previously the Villa had been very prompt in replying to all emails. However, my email was completely ignored and on the evening of our planned arrival, I received an email from the address ‘[email protected]’ that I could not reply to, explaining where the keys were whenever we arrived. I have received no correspondence since, however the cost of the booking has been taken from our bank account. I understand this has been a difficult time for all businesses and realise that the Villa Ti An Amiral may not have been in a financial position to be able to give us an amendment/reduction to the cost of our holiday and if they had replied to explain that I would have completely understood. I think our disappointment in having to cancel our holiday the day before travelling and still pay £1500 for it has only been worsened by the feigned ignorance of our plight.

Great hotel for a short break - but not in a heatwave

Reviewed By tragic_hedgehog

We stayed here with our two young children for a short break in beautiful Benodet. We found the staff very attentive, welcoming and informative. The hotel is a short walk from the beach and amenities. The interior of the hotel is a little dated but charming and really fits the vintage 30s vibe of the town. One of the downsides for us was that we visited during a period of very hot weather. The rear rooms get the sun in the afternoon and this meant the room was absolutely boiling throughout the afternoon, evening and well into the night, even if we closed the shutters during the day. There was no AC in the room which we knew but a fan could have been useful. Another problem was that on the first night there was quite a lot of noise from the room next door - some loud and “interesting” sounds which would have been difficult to explain to my 3 year old daughter. I lay in bed hoping she wouldn’t wake up so I wouldn’t have to!!! Sound proofing could be improved. However the charming breakfast next morning made up for the lack of sleep. There is also on-premises parking which is easy to access from the hotel. Be sure to check out the nearby “phare” (lighthouse) which is behind the hotel and bathe down on the river shore. We would definitely consider staying here again if we return to Benodet.

Great half term trip, perfect for kids

Reviewed By Mels06

We camped with our 2 children. Great park, bouncy castle and pool. The beginning of the week was lovely and quiet. Lovely beach within walking distance and great spot. Clean facilities. Kids loved the entertainment. The only down side is the bar is expensive and there were quite a few chalets being put in ready for the summer season, so some building work. We would recommend it though and found staff friendly and helpful.
