Reviewed By JudithN469We’ve just stayed 5 wonderful nights at this lovely quiet hotel. Run by Pierre, Benedicte and family it is everything you need for a peaceful getaway. The staff are all fantastic, friendly and efficient. The restaurant is superb. The cosy room very comfortable and well equipped. Lovely pool and gardens. Right by the bus stop so no need for a car and bike hire available too. We walked miles on the nearby coast path. For personal reasons we had a few sad days and we could not have been more supported and cared for by all staff but especially Pierre Benedicte snd Anna. Our first visit to the island and Pierre gave good advice about where to go and what to see. Highly recommended.

We were shocked to be told on check in that a room with sea view booked 5 months previously was not available due to an IT error . This is not what is to be expected if a Relais Chateau establishment . This was a bad start to what was otherwise an enjoyable stay: the food at both breakfast and dinner was excellent and of particular note was the friendly cheerful and efficient staff throughout the hotel from chamber maid to breakfast staff to dinner waiters and waitresses . The island of la Belle Ile sur mer is a delight for walking and cycling and this hotel makes for a comfortable place to explore its charms .

Reviewed By DavidwraggStaff are all friendly and quite low key. No upselling, tried to find out about the restaurant but no menus around and they couldn’t tell me at reception. Room quite small and basic ( no fridge or frills ) but clean and with a large terrace area. Pool side and reception area lovely to sit around, with jacuzzi with a great view. Access to a little cove to swim in the sea. Breakfast is expensive especially for Brits with poor exchange rate . But it is stocked with lovely produce and made to order galettes . Would be good to have orders taken from the table rather than have to queue for 10 minutes ....and longer if you stand in the wrong place . Excellent location and having cycled all around the Ile , Sauzon is a beautiful harbour well located with just about the range of cafes/ grocers you need . A relaxing stay ....thanks

Reviewed By Valerie TThis is a small simple hotel with friendly stuff and good location with the view on the port and citadel. The room on the 2nd floor was cute, nothing to special but has a good vibe to it. In general it was clean but I noticed that the there was dust on thing that you don't really pay attention to like radiator. We came on the off season and I think there were only 3 rooms occupied, therefore, it was really peaceful and quiet. We never came across other visitors even during breakfast. But I'm sure it gets super busy during summer. The breakfast is simply light, good, typically French. Overall the staff was smiley and helpful.

Lovely room, lethal shower
Reviewed By Gnomes37We stayed in mid June, room 4, for 2 nights.The room was reasonably spacious and had been subject to a fairly recent refurbishment which was very well done. Equally, there was a well equipped and modern bathroom(shower). Our principal cause for concern was the shower floor which was a death trap. We both almost fell over at least twice as it was so slippy. We did report this on departure with a recommendation to make it safe with either an anti slip coating or rubber mat etc.. An elderly person could end up with something broken or perhaps worse. The breakfast choice, which was very bread orientated, was a little disappointing.

Nice hotel, excellent location
Reviewed By Philei2001If you are looking for a tranquil place in one of the most gorgeous coastal areas in Europe, your search is over. Belle Ile en mer is the place to go if you want to meditate without meditation. It's the place where body and soul get calm just by breathing, sitting in the sun and watching the sea. The hotel is situated in a class A plus plus location, it's clean, well maintained, ha a s fantastic kitchen, friendly stuff and is not too expensive. You can hire bicycles and pedelecs at the hotel, the bus stops right next to the building and walking is a good option too, if you really want to learn this place. Leave your car in Quiberon, we did not this time and paid that ridiculous price of 340,- just for the car. Better invest that money in sea food, which is of course awesome over here. In addition: If you have children with you, go visit the high rope course, you will no be disappointed. It's one of the biggest I have ever seen, every challenging and demanding, take them step by step, from 1 to 5 (if you are really good you can do 5, we stopped after 4). It's completely shadowed, has lot's of creative parouring ideas and is fun all over the place. Golf: The golf course has 14 holes and is situated northwest of Sauzon. It's a challenging course with many blind tee shots. The greens we soso and the course maintenance level in general average too. Some magnificent views are guaranteed, but in my opinion it's not a must to play it as a golfer when you visit the island.

Nous serons présents, sans être pesants, à tout moment de votre séjour : de la préparation de votre séjour à votre départ. Enfin, c’est bénéficier de notre engagement à vous faire découvrir Belle-Ile dans les meilleures conditions. Grâce à notre localisation: à la périphérie de Le Palais, avec un accès facile au cœur de la « capitale insulaire » (15mns à pied du centre) mais loin du tumulte du centre-ville et du port, et à 5mns à pied de la gare des bus. En puisant dans notre expérience de l’île depuis 15 ans, et avons développé un réseau de partenaires fiables et avons tissé un lien étroit et intime avec cette île. Nous n’avons qu’une envie : que votre voyage à Belle-Île soit une magnifique expérience!
Perfect retreat on Belle-Ile

Jean-Marc and Pauline are very friendly and helpful hosts and gave us a lot of hints for nice beaches and good restaurants. We enjoyed the comfort and the atmosphere in that laid back Hotel - close to Le Palais, but far away from the busy traffic within the harbor. We certainly would chose Le Clos Fleuri again for our next visit on Belle-Ile. Gerald and Isa.
