What stood out most for us was the welcome we received on arrival - Bruno and his team couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful! Would definitely visit again.

Reviewed By Gareth LRefurbished this year (2021), so all shiny and new. We had a ground floor room that was huge. Done in a contemporary fashion, with espresso machine . netflix, fast wifi etc. We also had the evening meal, which as fantastic - local ingredients are used where possible. The couple who run it are very friendly and super helpful.

Reviewed By sarahandg2022Very attentive hosts, they worked very hard to make everyone feel welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Nathalia and Philippe set a great example to their team, who were all equally helpful and friendly. Everyone was happy to help us improve our French language without being patronising. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel was well located to drive to different wine regions and it is also possible to walk into the centre of Azay le Rideau so you can have a drink with dinner. The electric charging of the car was ever so easy.

Reviewed By jaqattakThis was such a lovely surprise find. I had seen photos on Trip advisor , but the reality was so much better! Went for a girlie , cycling weekend. I stayed in the gorgeous grand troglo suite, it was absolutely beautiful , high standard of furnishings , such a comfortable bed , lovely bathroom with a bath tub, tea & coffee facilities etc etc; The staff were without exception ,friendly and helpful , they even dog sat our aging poodle for the whole day ,whilst we were out cycling. I definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning

Reviewed By max pWhat can I say the place left me speechless ( which is not easily done ) the accommodation was breathtaking. It is easy to find with ample parking, the room was spotless and you cannot believe that a simple hole in the mountain can offer such a luxurious room. The owners are friendly and cannot do enough for you and their breakfast was lovely. I would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for accommodation in this area :) .

A buffet breakfast is available each morning at the Hotel Val De Loire and it is served in the dining room or on the shaded terrace in nice weather. The hotel can arrange evening meals for groups with special menus made with seasonal products. Guests can enjoy the pedestrian streets of the town centre and discover, from May to September, the fascinating light show at the Azay-Le-Rideau Castle. Tours and its airport is just 25 km away and Azay Train Station is 2 km from the hotel.
OK but no real treat
Reviewed By travel035The Hotel Val de Loire is in the small, old and tired Loire town, Vezay le Rideau, centered on its chateau and gardens. Two nights here left us with a feeling that the hotel was not doing well or someone really didn't care. On the web, the hotel appears almost as if it were isolated from the town but in fact it is on a primary street through town, contributing a lot of street noise in the rooms well into the evening and starting up early in the morning. There is parking in front and in back. No elevator, one negotiates old tight steps up to the rooms. The rooms are clean, small, plain. The bathroom unfortunately maintained that pong many French bathrooms seem to possess. There is no AC; open the window if you wish any air. We were lucky as the nights were cool and of course, being near water, there are mosquitos. The bed is small, firm and just one pillow per person. WiFi was truly hit or miss, on and off, usually off, and always slow. Breakfast is the usual sort, nothing interesting. In town, most highly recommended for dinner, is the L' Aigle d' Or which, in good weather, has lovely garden seating in the back; there is also indoor seating of course. The food is a true delight and the wine list deep with highly interesting choices and vintages. This is surely one of the best in the area; be sure to call and reserve a table as it fills up rapidly. Staying in town means one could enjoy the wine and walk home. The famous chateau and its garden is also just a few hundred yards away and the town is within easy drives of other noted chateaux and gardens. However, I would suggest looking elsewere in the area for places to stay overnight.

This Bed and breakfast includes two bedrooms (two doubles) with a rear garden at your diposal (best for a pique nique) in a house built in 1823 and recently renovated. This house is located in the very heart of the town and is only two steps away from the tourist office and 300 feet away from the castle.One of the best place to stay at , simply because of its proximity with the local shops and facilities ( car parks , rent a bike shop, souvenirs shops, restaurants, bakery, post office...) , the tourist office and the castle that one must visit because of its history and its spectacular light show called " Les imaginaires d'Azay le Rideau". You will be seduced by the charm of this unique town as well as this nice and comfortable Bed and Breakfast where you will feel at ease and independant.
Lovely B & B, wonderful host
Reviewed By karen2015453Chez Charitha is a lovely B & B in the centre of the pretty little town of Azay-le-Rideau, a couple of minutes’ walk from the chateau (well worth a visit). Charitha himself is the perfect host: welcoming, helpful and very generous. He greeted us with drinks and snacks (every welcome after a long drive), and gave us lots of helpful tips on restaurants, parking and places to visit. We made very good use of the good quality bikes that he makes freely available to guests. Breakfasts are delicious: good coffee, lots of fresh fruit, breads and pastries, cheese, hams and homemade jams etc. Charitha has renovated his house beautifully. The room was spotless, lovely bathroom with powerful shower and very comfortable bed. There is free parking a just a couple of minutes’ walk from the house. I would have no hesitation in recommending Chez Charitha to anyone planning a trip to the Loire Valley.

Reviewed By GoldansMy wife and I arrived on Sunday night. We went right for dinner in the garden which is very pleasant with nice Fermob furniture. The service was excellent to start with. A great wine list with an amazing selection for a rather small venue. The sommelier helped us with a local white wine which was a nice discovery. The food was outstanding with great products and the right presentation. It was succulent at very reasonable prices. The room was simple and well furnished with a light touch of industrial design … but not too much. Very good bed along with a practical bathroom. It is qlso very quiet in the middle of farms and orchards. Finally the breakfast was equally excellent. Fantastic croissants along with homemade yogourts, compte and marmelade. Before leaving, we had a chance to discuss with the chef and owner. Great guy with lots of good ideas about sustainable agriculture and organic products. He is also a smart entrepreneur with another restaurant in town (Ripaille in front of the chateau which we tried with success for lunch) and a 2 hectare permaculture project. Best of luck to him !

Reviewed By Domovoi1It is a nice gate community place to stay in Luara Valley. Good 2 stories townhouses with a clear view. Pretty basic inside has all you need - bedrooms,kitchen,patio, living area. It was inside pool complex on the territory,but we do not use it. Very comfortable location to visit lot of famous castles (shato) around. Very nice park with castle in Aze le Redo.
