Very good hotel in a lovely peaceful setting
Reviewed By HelenB996We are just back from a week staying in Autrans : XC skiing, in Geve. The hotel owners are exceptionally welcoming and very helpful and pleasant people. The Breakfast is very substantial and we had an evening meal at the hotel twice during our stay: the food was excellent and beautifully presented. The bedroom was small but we had a small Terrasse which was great when the sun was there for 4 days! Lovely to come back from skiing to a quiet spot to read and relax. The bed was very comfortable and great to have a bath as well as shower in the bathroom. I can recommend this lovely hotel. There are many interesting walks in the area if you want a day off from skiing.

A very pleasant place
Reviewed By Danielle MIt was such a pleasure to wake up in the morning , after a goog night's sleep , and see the lovely spring view over the village. The room was comfortable , with good bedding ( important for my back ) The evening meal was excellent ,( I recommend the " navarin d'agneau " ) and the breakfast offered a wide variety of good local products . The team had at heart to make us feel happy and comfortable , really , there was nothing more to be asked for . No hesitation at recommending the place , and the warm and professional people who run it .

Very nice hotel to stay

I especially enjoy the warm welcome of the owners, who recently took over this hotel. They are very nice and take care of their clients. The dinner is always excellent, and on my point of view, it's a really nice place to stay if you go to Autrans. David

The best in town
Reviewed By sergioLyon228Certainly the best hotel in Autrans. We were there last week and we have got a nice room, a great service and the food quality is amazing. If they tranform the room next to the lobby in a nice area to rest and relax by adding some sofas then it will be a place to go. But you can book a room you will be very satisfied.

Reviewed By Michal WVery nice, calm and cosy camping (not too big). Heated and covered swimming pool is a great advantage. The only disadvantage is lack of shop on the campsite, fortunately the nearest shop is about 300m away. Placed in the heart of the Vercors mountains, in the beautiful surrounding, gives plenty of opportunities for hikes and walks over the mountains and ridges. Additional attraction - the narrow ravines, which characterise this region are really noteworthy, providing grounds for breathtaking car rides and walks. The ones I could recommend are: Gorges d'Omblèze, Gorges da la Bourne and Grands Goulets. The caves - Grotte de Choranche and the Grotte de Thais, give yet another view on the beauty of this region. Additional piece of advice, even though days tend to be very hot, nights get quite chilly, so if you opt for tent be sure to take a good sleeping bag.

More simple and sympa than a Club Med, they are probably what the first Club Meds were modeled on. You stay and pay for a week, tout compris, including activities. Great hikes, une clientele chalereuse -- but you better speak French...no one speaks too much English...though everybody wanted me to speak English to their kids...except for the kids. At these places you really do get to meet the French. If I described it in English, I would call it a "family camp". There are a few resorts like this in America but in France the hikes are way better, not to mention the food and the historical sites and the coffee. At L'Escandille the food was good--okay-good, but I didn't mind since eating less was a plus for me.

Belle rénovation

La chambre occupée située au premier étage est spacieuse mais la salle de bain non séparée de la chambre ne prédispose pas à l 'intimité. La paroi transparente délimitant la douche aurait pu être opaque. La cuisine commune est très pratique et le salon donnant sur le petit jardin est agréable . Comme nous étions seuls nous avons pu en profiter. Cependant nous avons eu peu de contact avec la propriétaire, qui d'ailleurs ne répond pas toujours aux mails, nous avions plus l 'impression d'être dans une location qu 'une chambre d'hôtes.
