DON’T BOOK THIS HOSTEL!!
Reviewed By Ebba RWhen we first got to the hostel we tried calling both numbers on the website, but neither of them were in use. Buy luck we got into the hostel because another couple was leaving, but there were still nobody in the reception. Finally the host answered on email that he would be there in 20 min. He got there after more than one hour and he was also drunk. He did not apologies for being late. Further more there were some more problems: - No air conditioning or Wi-Fi (which there should be according to the web site) - Only one towel in the room (we asked for one more and the host said we would get one in one hour but we never got one) - We booked a double bed but the bed we got was two single beds put together with a big gap in between so we had to sleep in different beds. We were really surprised concidering all the good reviews that this place got, maybe they changed owner recently??

Cozy room close to the center of Rijeka
Reviewed By Steffi GFirst of all, this hostel is located perfectly for everyone who wants to explore the city. It is close to the center, the bus station and the harbour. We stayed for two nights and felt very comfortable and welcome which was especially due to the lovely girl at the reception who made sure that we had everything we needed and helped us find our way around Rijeka. If you look for an affordable accommodation with a warm atmosphere, book a room at Hostel Kvarner :)

One of the best run hostels I've ever come across
Reviewed By cmx51I want to thank Keti, the manager very much for her hospitality during my stay at the HI Veli Losinj, a hostel that you won't find very often. I've had probably the best sleep in my life there, not only because of the fresh and clean air from the sea but also because of the awesome mattresses you'll find yourself pampered with. The rooms are spotless and have a mosquito net at the window. The outside area is great to have a beer in the afternoon and the town center with various restaurants, coffee shops a cute little harbor is literally like 20 steps away. You'll be at several beaches with crystal clear water within less than a five minutes walk. Make sure to visit.

The Dharma Hostel is a newly furnished hostel in the eastern part of Rijeka where part of a former industrial complex was architecturally transformed into a modern and urban hostel. Capacity of 34 beds in 2 and 3 bed mixed rooms and 2 dorms with 6 and 7 beds. All rooms and dormitories have their own private, completely furnished bathrooms. Dorms have AC. There is on-site bistro-coffee bar that offers delicious vegetarian cuisine as well as a variety of soft drinks. The whole facility is covered by free wi-fi and has its own parking area. All guests can freely join morning yoga class according to the system 'Yoga in Daily Life'. The location is superbly isolated from city noise and is just 300 m away from the biggest shopping Tower centre and 100 metres from the city's number 1 bus line (Pecine - Kantrida), which allows users to reach the city centre in just 10 minutes. The hostel is approx. 200 Metres away from the most beautiful city beaches.

Reviewed By Robin TVery nice Hostel! First we were a bit concerned because you have to drive through the industrie. The house is what you expect from a hostel. But the rooms are very new and clean and way more then what you expect from a hostel. Also the owner and a young woman (don‘t know if its her thoughter) were so friendly and recommanded us good restaurants and we felt instantly at home. Also the breakfast for 3 euros or 25 kuna was great. Also worth mentioning is the free yoga lesson in the morning and the room that you can always use when its free. Even if we are not very into yoga and didnt try it.

Reviewed By PiaRieThe team there is so kind and helpful and I really had a lot of questions: late check-in, laundry, where do I get Kunar for a beer? I had lots of fun there. The rooms and beds are comfortable and it was wonderful to shuttle between the beach and the hostel. There is a lively market just a few minutes walk away that you should visit if you stay there. I felt very comfortable here!

Two night stay. Everything fine
Reviewed By Richard BWe stayed at the Veliki Dom Platak for two nights in February. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner included and the food was really very good and huge portion sizes. The rooms are very basic but everything was fine, no complaints.

Decet Hostel in central Rijeka
Reviewed By jkf773Hostel was clean and comfortable, no complaints. Location is also very good, right in the middle of Old Town Rijeka. Only the check-in was a little cumbersome: after walking up two flights of not very well-lit stairs, I arrived at a door on which there was a sign with a telephone number to call for check-in. Since my phone didn't have any reception at that time (for whatever reason) I rang the doorbell; after a few minutes of waiting a guest opened the door and had to call for check-in for me. Also, as in most of Croatia, COVID restrictions in this hostel were largely ignored: almost no one (not even the hostel staff) wore masks of any kind, and I was not once asked whether I had a green pass, much less was this actually verified.
