A beautiful stay
Reviewed By H-KviskeThe Chante L'Oiseau is located in the midst of a beautiful landscape. The surrounding mountains, forests and small rivers are perfect for shorter and longer hikes/bike tours. Charming villages and cities like Sigonce, Forcalquier and Mane are close by and their streets, monasteries and churches offer a glimpse into earlier centuries. During our stay we felt welcome at all times and especially the pool was a delightful detail that allowed to fully enjoy the July-sun. We definitely recommend to stay a few nights in the tree house, if possible. It was amazing. Thank you very much for the relaxing vacation! Hanna&Joschka

Ideal Position
Reviewed By Richard JThis small hotel (bar/restaurant with rooms) offers very satisfactory accommodation in the town itself. Moustiers is a very popular destination so staying within the village is a bonus; like so many tourist destinations the environment improves immensely as the coach parties depart and the town becomes quiet and delightful in the late afternoon, evening, and early part of the morning. The hotel, named after the french philosophers, named our room Rousseau and it was very satisfactory value for a comfortable double bed, small but adequate shower room, a sitting room with a kitchenette attached. Everything you need is there except a cafetiere but there is an espresso machine which although designed for capsules will work fine with a spoonful of fine ground coffee. There is no aircon so probably in August it maybe too warm but in June it was very pleasant. There are radiators for the winter months. For this district a car is essential. During the day parking in the village is very difficult but by late afternoon we never failed to find an untimelimited slot reasonably close to the hotel. For arrival and departure there is a small space opposite the hotel to unload your luggage. There are a myriad of small restaurants within and around the town but pick up any self catering provisions before you arrive because the nearby small supermarket is very pricey. The local hiking is excellent with suggested walks (which are well waymarked) available in leaflet form from the nearby tourist office for a few euros.

Expecting to be back again in 2019.

Basic accommodation but spotlessly clean
Reviewed By Voyageur775This is not a hotel as such, rather a collection of small apartments with one or 2 beds within a single room, a bathroom and kitchen facilities. However, you should bring your own products for cleaning the dishes etc. The majority of the residents are either taking “la cure” or accompanying those who are. There are lots of places to visit in the area from Aix to the Gorge of Verdon and the magnificent Museum of Prehistory in Quinson.

Appalling
Reviewed By bisieStayed part of one night as this is the nearest hotel to Manosque hospital to which a young American friend had been admitted after a serious bicycle accident. Her Mom asked me to help out as I live in France. Her sister and I arrived at the hotel around 11 pm and exhausted and anxious we headed to our very hot and stuffy rooms (no aircon) without reading the not obvious sign on the front door which the surly receptionist the following day told me explained the difference between an Hôtel with daily housekeeping and an aparthotel like this...nothing. Apparently I had told her in the Morning as we rushed off to the hospital about the disgusting leak from the fridge and she claims she had efficiently got it cleaned up. When we returned to the place around 1600 in order to check out as we couldn’t bear the heat the night before, she couldn’t understand my surprise that the room and shower room hadn’t been serviced. She made no attempt to appreciate the difficult circumstances the reason for staying. I asked for a refund of the second night’s stay and she claimed that it was too late as they would not be able to sell the rooms again as the housekeeper had left. As our rooms had been booked the evening before, I find that hard to accept. She begrudgingly phoned 3 taxi services for us and fortunately I had kept the card of Taxi Alix who came to our rescue and whisked us to the fantastic Ibis Manosque. The room was basic, but more concerning is the leak from the fridge which I could have slipped on during the night. The management need to do something about their front office’s attitude and I’m not surprised that the receptionist confirmed that not many people visiting the hospital stay there. I should point out that the care and facilities at Manosque hospital are incredible. The staff were so kind and helpful with non French speakers. The staff at Ibis Manosque were also incredibly kind and efficient. The big plus is the aircon and cleanliness, but more importantly the lovely staff. Unfortunately the Ibis is not within walking distance of the hospital but I can highly recommend Alix Taxi 06 07 65 28 47

Easy walking distance from town
Reviewed By justamumWakefieldAir conditioned studio within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants (albeit up a steep hill). Free parking. Pleasant swimming pool. Comfortable bed. Patio with deckchairs and a table/ chairs. Bathroom had a bath with a shower attachment- no way of attaching this to the wall, you had to hold it to use it. Kitchen had a full fridge, microwave and hob.

Comfortable apartment in nature with wonderful view
Reviewed By VB46We chose this accommodation because it’s location close to Thermes / thermal spa. It is an ideal location when one takes treatment over there walking distance 10 min or 2 min by car. Our apartment 115 was fully furnished and equipped with everything you need during daily routine. Apartment has a nice outdoor terrace where you can enjoy summer meals with wonderful view.Ideal for families with kids. You can also access access pool. It is not far from Digne city center. Intermarche shopping is is just down road. We were happy about the accommodation kids spent lots of time outdoor. Due to to its location air is fresh here which is a nice extra bonus.
