Very Dirty and outdated

Reviewed By erikacE4112CH

I never leave reviews but I’m this case I feel like I have no choice. I Booked a 2 bedroom condo (3148) at the Phoenix 3. The only reason it gets a raining of 2 and not 1 is the location and view. First impressions from the lobby - very old, dirty and outdated. The staff was very friendly and check in was easy. I really hoped the condo was better than the lobby but sadly it was worse. It smelled like old dirty grease from years of cooking without proper cleaning. There was sand on the floor when we walked in. The furniture is very old, dated and dirty. There was a chair on the balcony that was so torn and stained that we couldn’t sit on it. In both bathrooms, it looked like black mold had been painted over in places and the popcorn ceiling had been removed in other places to “get rid” of it. The sofa bed was very old and the mattress was hard and dirty. All common areas were nasty. The pool was ok. The views were amazing and the location is good (but now that I’ve been there I think most condos have great views and locations). We paid over $500/per night after fees and taxes for a condo that was literally disgusting. Don’t stay here.

Do NOT Stay Here

Reviewed By josephmE4234MO

Hotel is poorly staffed. Had to wait for staff to show up when I checked in. Kitchen had NO equipment to use it (pot, utensils, etc). With no hotel staff present, guests staying there linger in the hallways and parking lot all night drinking. Required to pay $150 deposit upon arrival that was not mentioned in any part of the reservation. Paperwork signed says deposit will be refunded immediately upon check out. 3 business days later refund has still not been processed. Tried to contact the hotel directly to no avail as not staff present. Contacted Choice Hotels customer service directly. Agents there also could not get anyone at the hotel to answer. Was told that there was nothing that Choice Hotels can do to help me and that I would need to keep trying to get someone to answer the at the hotel. DO NOT stay here. It is not worth the hassle.

Security is unprofessional, and under trained

Reviewed By jeremyeC7034UU

Security harrased us, gawked at my 18 year old daughter, my wife and another family member.. and threatened us and ultimately called the police on us when we refused to be bullied by them. The police acknowledged that security was a joke, took no action against us. One of the officers even said that these guys are completely unprofessional and do this all of the time. On our first day. The security personnel was very unpleasant and unprofessional. My 18 year daughter drove her own vehicle. I bought her a parking pass at the advisory of the front desk personnel. When she arrived she was told by security at the entrance that she needed a pass. Not fully understanding the process, and based off of the fact that I had told her that I paid for her parking pass. She explained that her dad already paid for parking. The guy was very rude, reluctant to let her in, and told her that he would tow her car if she didn't have a pass, and that he would personally come check her car for a pass. She was pretty upset and felt that she was being accused of trying to do something wrong. I let that go. On the same day one of the security guards was gawking at my daughter along with many others. The same security card even told me that I needed to find him a woman, to which I replied that this is not my responsibility or my business, but wished him the best of luck. There was a girls trip group that were being pretty wild, not enough to need security, but definitely noticable. They were singing along in group to country songs and dancing. They ended up talking to my group but were not with us and we didn't know them. The next day, when we made our way down to the pool, security immediately approached us, and asked us where the girls trip group was at. We let them know that they were not the with us and we were not sure where they were. The first guy told us that we would not be acting the way that those girls were the day before, or else.. he was very aggressive. We let him know that those girls were not with us and that we did not appreciate the accusation. He spouted off about being a veteran and walked away with a bad attitude. We could see him at the other end of the property pointing at us and telling the other security guards about us... One of the security guards, the only one that I will name (McKinley) was was the only one who was professional. He came over explained what happened the day before and what he had heard about the group and that one of the property owners who commonly complains was complaining about the girls trip group. We explained to him that they were not with us. He asked if they were still there, we told him that we did not know and he understood and apologize for the misunderstanding. Another security guard aggressively approached and demanded our room number.. those girls were not with us the whole situation had nothing to do with us and that they had been gawking at the women in our group the entire time (some of them teenagers) so I told him that I would not give him my room number... He demanded it to which I replied you are not getting it, and he needed to go get his manager. He threatened to call the police.. I told him to go ahead and do so.. at this point my wife had enough and was ready to leave. We had dealt with this for 2 days now. As we were making our way to our room I noticed the same security guard was following us. I asked him if he was going to follow us to our room he said yes, he got into the elevator with us and harassed us the entire time letting us know that he was going to get our room number anyway.. I told him that he was petty and unprofessional.. when the police arrived they let us know that the security team was very unprofessional and they call them for frivolous reasons all of the time. One of them said that you can't give some guys a little bit of authority because they don't know how to act. The police took no action against us.we were not asked to leave. I will never return to this property again it was a waste of money and security completely ruined our trip.

Found a Hidden Pearl on Gulf Shores!

Reviewed By HeyYall

This was my family's first time visiting Gulf Shores and we stayed in Unit 104a at the Regatta, and could not have been more pleased. I feel like we found a hidden pearl on Gulf Shores. Our unit, 104a was newly renovated, with pretty beachy furnishings. My favorite part was we were not expecting such a great view! Wow! From the living room, kitchen, and private balcony we had an unobstructed view of the ocean waves, dunes, and beach scenery. We did not pay for oceanfront, but with this side unit having such great views, I felt like we received the view without the oceanfront price. The unit had 2 bedrooms (one bedroom had two full beds) and there was a pull-out couch in the living room. The unit was extremely clean. We were giving fresh towels, the beds and linens were fresh and clean, and the kitchen was modern. The unit had a stackable washer and dryer unit in the closet. I also appreciated that they thought of little touches like giving us sample sizes of dishwashing liquid, paper towels, dishwasher detergent, and scrubbies -- all one time use, which was super nice that we did not have to go out and buy. Each room included flat screen tvs (living room, bedrooms), cable, and Internet - a home away from home. The beds were comfortable. What I loved the most was we were within a few steps of the beach and I walked it every day. This is not a massive condo complex (like some others on the beach) so I felt like the beach area was more private and less crowded, which is a plus for me. At night we could sit on the balcony and watch the sunset, and hear the live band music wafting from the hangout. Another cool part of the Regatta building was it is within walking distances of some outstanding restaurants, Family Dollar, the State parks, etc. - we parked our car and never used it. We will return many times in the future.

Not a good hotel

Reviewed By TrishG0500

We stayed here for two nights. First of all, the room actually did look fairly clean. In reality, the floors were filthy. I don’t think they had been mopped in years – literally. Since we always carry cleaning products with us for this purpose, I cleaned the bathtub and the sink and the sink in the kitchen, since we were using the kitchen in a limited way. There were no plates cups glasses no silverware of any kind in the room. When asked about it the management made a note but nothing ever happened as far as getting us what we needed for utensils. We ended up buying plastic at Walmart. I would check for bedbugs. We didn’t find any in our room but that doesn’t mean they’re not there. There are some very disreputable looking residents at this hotel. We smelled marijuana smoke in the hallway several times. I get the feeling that most of them live here full-time. The parking lots are dirty, and the hallway of the floor where we were staying was continually filthy. I don’t think they ever vacuumed it and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it in the same state walking in today. The pool was nasty green and was not open even though it was the second week of May. Unless you’re paying less than $50 per night, I would definitely look for something else. I would not recommend this hotel for a single female unless she’s carrying. Security is nonexistent. I definitely would not feel comfortable as a single woman walking out into that parking lot even in daylight hours let alone night.

Phoenix II

Phoenix II (Phoenix 2) has beautiful and spacious beach condos with Gulf-front views and immediate beach and boardwalk access. It's the perfect place for a memorable vacation with family and friends, who can stay in comfort, as the condos sleep anywhere from 4 to 8 people. Phoenix II Orange Beach features an outdoor pool that's heated in the winter, along with hot tubs and a sauna. There's a children's pool that's safe for the little ones, too. Gather friends and family to play all sorts of games. Beach volleyball, of course, but racquetball and tennis courts are available on the grounds of the complex. Stay in shape at the exercise room, and then experience bliss in the sauna. Phoenix II is located right on the beach, so you can step out and enjoy the white-sugar sands of Orange Beach whenever you like. You can also stroll the boardwalk in front of the condo, maybe before or after you enjoy dinner at some of the area's fine restaurants. Enjoy famous Gulf Coast seafood, including the royal red shrimp that attract foodies from all over the country. The building is located 4 miles east of Hwy. 59. A full-time, on-site staff is available to all Brett/Robinson guests.

I’ll never use Liquid Life!

Reviewed By SusanneT

I was so excited for this vacation, and to be with my family for a whole week. Arrival was smooth, got into the unit and had groceries delivered and waited for the family to arrive.upon entering, the unit looked pleasing with 3 bedrooms a 3 1/2 bathrooms. First thing I noticed were the floors. The floors had not been cleaned. I have a 4 year lols great granddaughter who is special needs and sometimes crawls to get around. 15 minutes into the stay, I looked at her and she was filthy from being on the floor. I immediately called Liquid Life, the rental company to make sure they had been there on that day. Liquid Life sent 2 people to the condo the next day to clean the floors. The mop they used was filthy dirty. Later that evening, I cooked and afterwards wanted to used the dishwasher and it was not working properly. I washed the dishes myself and called to let Liquid Life know the dishwasher wasn’t working. No return call. The next day, headed to the beach. It was a beautiful day, had so much fun. I thought old wash beach towels. The towels wouldn’t go through the rinse cycle, so I had 7 wet towels to deal with. 2 days went by before someone came to look at it. At that point I was beside myself. I got up early the next day, called Liquid Life and was told someone would be over that morning. The guy got there at 8:30pm. Did nothing. The next day they brought a different machine and while taking the old one out, flooded the entire floor. May I suggest not using Liquid Life to rent this unit. They are of no help and I spent 4,500.00 for the week. What a disaster it was!
