The 10 best Campgrounds in New Mexico, United States

April 19, 2023 Janean Rudisill

With its rich cultural heritage from Native American and Spanish settlers, New Mexico has been both a Spanish colony and a Mexican colony, and still retains a strong individual identity within the United States. The landscape is breathtaking, the food incredible, and there is a thriving cultural scene, all of which makes New Mexico, and Santa Fe in particular, a great place all year long.

Unique place to stay

Reviewed By H4662JJcynthiam

As a family, we rented three different trailers. Each of them met our needs perfectly. They were each decorated in such awesome ways. The property is clean and quiet. It was so fun being out in the desert. Plenty of space to run around. We flew kites, explored the desert, and did star watching at night. Close enough to town, but far enough away to not hear traffic or see city lights. We loved it!!!

Great cabin.

Great welcome and a really modern, clean and comfortable cabin. Equipment and cooking utensils were all high quality. Netflix and Amazon prime in the tv. Heating worked well. Peaceful location. Only lost one star as the shower was poor and the hot water slow to come through.

DO NOT STAY HERE !

DO NOT STAY HERE ! Horrible host! No heat, no hot water ! Toddler toilets (seriously). After hours check in is a nightmare ! Code for doors are 3 miles down the road not on same property, in a cardboard box outside, where anyone could get your code, room number, and envelope with all your information! I could literally go on and on about this place. Save yourself some trouble and go anywhere else !

Very friendly, good WIFI, good walking-biking trail around the park, free waffles on Sat & Sun, and daily activities (like live music), We've been coming here for about 4 years and always loved it. My only complaint is that the highway doesn't have a biking shoulder. However its not a very busy highway and its only about 1/2 mile until you get to a gravel road (49/Fria) which will take you to the main road through Angel Fire, has great bike shoulders and may businesses to visit. Nat Park is very close for hiking. Taos and Red River are great day trips from the RV Park

A really great story of improvement

Reviewed By rkelbaugh

We have stayed here many times over the past 14 years. Over the past two years the operators have made significant improvements to the Campground. There is now a nice setting of camping cabins, a new children's playground, improved tent camping sites and a new pull in view section. I write this review to give the operators credit for their work.

Wonderful stay

We are new to RVing- this was only our 3rd trip out. This is a very nice, privately owned park. .Due to fire restrictions - Lincoln National Forest actually closed while we were there (late May 2022), but the park stayed open, so our 4 day trip was saved. Very clean bath house and restrooms'. Laundry available if you need it. Very friendly staff and very helpful. Close to Ruidoso and all you might want to do there - try the Anaheim Jack's restaurant on the west side of town. No phone signal with T-Mobile, but the park does have Wi-Fi, so that got us through.

Red Barn RV Park

Charming little RV park

Reviewed By bdrogueR

This is a small RV park with well spaced sites, except the pull through sites which were quite close. The RV park is well maintained and clean, and the owners are really cordial and helpful. The park itself has a lot of charm from the red barn main office to the little green alien statue in the garden. Access to this RV park is easy and convenient. The facilities provided are clean and functional. There is no dog park, but there is a nearby area you can walk your pet. The only downside we had was that because our site was right next to the highway, there was constant traffic noise. Most of the other RV sites within the park would not have this issue. Lots and lots of things to do in Roswell, and this RV park works well as a "home base" for that.
