If you are touring, try this

Reviewed By Stuart N

Our motorcycle tour enabled us to visit this unusual site. We booked two cabins on line by mistake and they would not change the booking for us so that is very negative! The location is quite amazing behind the biggest sand dune I have seen outside North Africa. The staff were very helpful and the heated outside pool was a joy.

Lovely Site

Reviewed By paul111953

We, a family of 6, stopped here for three nights in our caravan. The site has a quiet rural setting, but fairly close the town of Ares. The site owners were very helpful and friendly and the kids loved the pool area. It was a welcome change from the massive commercial sites that are dotted around and was well placed to explore the area.................we actually felt like we were in France and thoroughly enjoyed this quiet and friendly site.

Dog friendly chalets

Reviewed By Gail M

This place is a fabulous place to stop en route to Spain especially if you are traveling with a dog. Set in the countryside just off the motorway there are several swiss like chalets which are set a good distance apart from each other so there is privacy. Each chalet has a main kitchenette dining area with two hot plates, microwave, sink, cutlery, crockery, saucepans, etc, two bedrooms (one double and one with a single bed and two bunk beds),there is a shower room with a toilet and also a separate toilet and each chalet has a decked terrace, there is loads of parking space and the whole place felt very safe. There was a restaurant and bar on site but we didn't use them. There was a lake with ducks and geese, there were donkeys and also peacocks. It looked like there were activities available (boating, etc) and there were bouncy castles and fun fare rides (merry-go-rounds) which were not in operation when we were there though. It was ideal for the dog too as he could run around a bit outside the chalet. On balance this was an ideal place for us to stop en route with the dog as I would definitely recommend it.

wonderful and with a strong ethos

Reviewed By Malayah H

This is a unique, eco friendly stay. The accomodations is quirky and peaceful. I love the fact that the environmental ethos ran through everything the owners did. This is not a gimmack. From the fresh water swimming pool, to the recycling and the sourcing of local product. The breakfast croissants were local and among some of the best I had in france....the masseuse was phenomenal (though book in advance). The whole stays was refreshing it was really close also to bike paths castles etc.

Beautifully quiet

Reviewed By simplelifefrance

We stayed in one of the wooden cabins for 2 nights. Easy to find, and located in a quiet area. We've found noise to be a problem at many other sites nearer the beaches. This was perfect. Cabin was fully equipped and in excellent condition. Very clean. We went out of season so there were only around half a dozen other couples there. Plenty of trees and hedges to separate plots. Our cabin had its own shower and toilet so we cannot comment on the communal services. There is a communal lounge available with tv, sofas, books, internet access, games for children, dining tables and tea/coffee making facilities. We found the Wifi reached our cabin anyway which was great. There is a snack bar but don't think it was open when we were there. You can order croissants and bread for the following day from the office. Only a 5 minute drive from Lidl and L'Eclerc supermarkets. We took our own deckchairs for lounging in and our own bedding/towels. Staff are very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Great activities on offer, yet variable standard of accommodation & cleaning of common facilities

+ : great fitness activities (I love Zumba with Charlotte & la danse des villages in the pool! Bands playing in the evening, outside provider in the evening selling stuff, great relaxed atmosphere, good mini supermarket on site, and helpful security. The pool is good with slides. There is one tennis court. It also look like a good place for kids and teenagers - with a popular teenager club which offers activities like Kayak. - : Accomodation standard is varied on site: we had 2 weeks with 2 different mobil home: the first one was very small, very close to the neighbours/ hence noisy. It did not have good ventilation, which made the summer nights horrible. The second one was best placed and less close to neighbours which was very nice. It was bigger too and better ventilated. The furnishing (pots and pans were dated and dirty), no TV. The entrance to the pool was always dirty, and numbers were not restricted in the pool despite COVID. The tennis court could do with a booking system.

Cold showers!

Reviewed By H675UYpaulh

Lovely site quite big with a lot of static homes. Very disappointed with their bathroom facilities the water for showering was always cold tepid at best. I did tell reception about the water being cold in the showers but nothing seem to be done. Also quite noisy from the road at night with cars and motorbikes sounding like they were racing up and down. Probably wouldn’t come back. (Sorry)

Small, safe campsite great for first time campers.

Reviewed By ciaramaitland

This was our first camping holiday with our 3yr old. The campsite was easily accessed by car from Bordeaux so we found the transfer stress free and the drive enjoyable. Warmly welcomed, very clean, modern and comfortable mobile home. Felt like a small and safe campsite which was important to us (car reg was entered for access to site so all entries were monitored). Swimming pool was meticulously clean and very well supervised. Snack bar/restaurant was sufficient but wider menu choice and opening hours (didn’t serve until 7pm which wasn’t suitable for a toddler after a day swimming) would have encouraged us to eat there more often. TakeAway pizza was a good option though. Convenient to the beaches and shops (car recommended) within minutes. We also used the shuttle to the beach which takes ages (30mins) but was fun for the toddler. Staff very helpful particularly since my french was so poor. All round a great, safe place to stay and would recommend.

The best camping in France

Reviewed By TheLocalTraveller41

Me and my mother stayed in this amazing camping for 10 days. Everyday I would wake up at 09:00 and know exactly what I would do on that day. There are fantastic activities to do for teens like me in the morning and the afternoon and every evening there was a 'spectacle'. The restaurant there was great too, very nice food at a low cost and a huge menu to pick from. There is also a nice pool with great slides, a tennis court, mini golf and lots more.
