Reviewed By nicolakelly66Upon booking we enquired as to the availability of fan's and AC as it's incredibly hot with 90 percent humidity this time of the year. We booked as were assured that even with the many power cuts Sri Lanka experiences daily, they had a generator. The entire week stay we were told each day it would be repaired , it wasn't. We were left for several hours each day without electricity. We asked to speak to the owner he works in a different country, so spoke with the lovely young lady who manages this property. We asked for compensation and eventually we were offered 10 dollars the say before we booked out.... So if you want to be boiled alive please book and enjoy that experience.. The plus points are the hotel is beautiful and clean the staff are wonderful, just let down by their boss who has absolutely no grasp on reality.

Reviewed By LivinikeroyaBeautiful little hotel with amazing stuff. The air conditioner was fine, But they don’t have refrigerator in rooms. You can use the one in lobby. There’s no slippers in rooms. They have self service breakfast and you can order eggs, Sausage, and … . It was clean and nice.

We provide very personalized service to our guests. Our property offers 4 rooms - Single, Double, Triple and Family. All rooms are tastefully decorated with air-conditioning,private bathrooms with hot water. Telephone and Internet facilities (free wifi) are also available for the guests. There is a separate TV area. This is a non smoking residence and the guests are allowed to smoke outside. . Staying with us is a great way for you to explore Sri Lankan hospitality and life style.
Truly a home away from home

You really get the feeling that you are staying in someone's home and not in some soulless establishment. Right from the moment you check in, you are immediately struck by all the thoughtful, personal touches. These include the décor of the bedrooms, the layout of the common areas, and a package full of local souvenirs given to guests. I also really enjoyed the high-speed wi-fi and the plentiful hot water in the shower. The home-cooked food is beyond phenomenal and prepared to taste. I mean, what can be better than fresh dosas and idlis for breakfast? Suresh—the gentleman who owns the guesthouse—is a treasure trove of information and one can have a fascinating conversation with him on so many different topics. All in all, staying here was a fantastic epilogue to an amazing vacation in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended!

Excellent stay with my big family
Reviewed By safreezIt was one of the best places we visited. It was well cleaned, neatly arranged and food was excellent and the host shashika was so generous in serving us. We had the whole freedom to use the entire place as we had an excellent family time together. Its highly recommended for anyone to visit and a have good holiday. Last but not least the pleasant lady Kanthi who looked into our needs was amazingly serving us without any hesitation. Overall it was an excellent stay!

Lovely garden with statues and fountains with refreshing salt water pool.The restaurant had a wonderful Michael Jackson theme with videos of his songs while we ate our dinner. Delicious food at a reasonable price. Billiards table provided lots of fun time. The two dogs were very affectionate. The host and staff were friendly and attentive. A five star stay!

Gomez Place is located at Negombo which is 36 km north of Colombo and only 20 minutes from Bandaranaike international airport at Katunayake. This is an oasis for the weary traveler and a starting point for a longer tour of this beautiful island.
Peaceful and relaxing
Reviewed By alanjcgThe most peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Mr Gomez is at the hotel for most of the day and treats all guests as important to him personally. The staff are always polite, happy and helpful. He will arrange any trips for whatever length of time for you with a safe driver and comfortable car. The hotel has a superbly maintained garden and pool and the room was comfortable and spacious. I stayed during a difficult time for the lovely country of Sri Lanka due to the economic crisis but Gomez Place offered an oasis of calm for those of us fortunate enough to be staying there. The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport which was perfect.

Arun and the team even helped us out with returning a roomkey to a previous hotel. We had to leave for the airport on New Years Eve and they organized early dinner on our private terrace and waited for us to leave with the taxi before closing up for New Year celebration. Really amazing service.

Charming and authentic
Reviewed By vie_42_vieIt was my second stay at the Binnacle, I wanted to spend more time in Negombo. The Binnacle is ideal for this. Negombo is often placed at the beginning or end of a trip to Sri Lanka because of its proximity to CMB airport. That was not enough for me. The day at the Binnacle starts with an opulent fruit plate that makes the sun rise. The breakfast also offers everything else the heart desires. My favourite was the spicy omelette. The rooms are spacious and of course with AC (AC is a must in Sri Lanka!). The staff is helpful and smiling, but still authentic. Binnacle is a small hotel just to my taste! Thank you Chiran and your lovely crew for your hospitality! I/we will be back!
