Exceptional and unique boutique hotel. Well appointed and with real warmth and charm.

Reviewed By BongyBingy

By far one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The rooms are well appointed and all have exquisite details. The views over the city from my bedroom and the restaurant and terrace were fantastic. Boris the owner is charming and will do anything he can to make your stay perfect. He also stocks the best selection of boutique Bulgarian wines in Plovdiv (and possibly in the whole of Bulgaria). Make sure you ask for a tour of the wine tasting room that Boris excavated, designed and built himself over a 10 year period. This is a true gem of an establishment with Boris’ vision and passion shining through.

Good all round

Reviewed By doofvfood

Stayed at Mirena for a couple of nights and we found it good overall. It was a tad pricier than the other hotels we stayed at during our trip, especially as it was about 25-30 minutes' walk from town, but we had a light and spacious room with free parking and the usual amenities - hair dryer, toiletries, etc. We arrived after 6pm, so were quite tired and decided to eat at the restaurant (hotel guests get 10% discount) and the food was good and reasonably priced, so we were pleasantly surprised. The service is good, the people at reception are helpful and one lady helped me to phone a hotel which I was supposed to contact. The breakfast is very basic and the people in the restaurant in the morning are brusque and unfriendly (unlike the lady staff who was there the evening before). We didn't enjoy the bruised fruit offered at breakfast, but did enjoy an apple cake which was part of the breakfast offering one day. As the hotel is on a large main road, it's not too difficult to find and is also easily accessible if travelling by car. WiFi connection was good, and there appeared to be speakers in the bathroom, so you could hear what was on the telly. There aren't any convenience shops nearby nor places to eat at, so location isn't the best, but other things make up for this. Definitely recommend Mirena and will not hesitate to stay there again should we visit Plovdiv in future.

Family Hotel At Renaissance Square

Visiting us you will find yourself in the unique atmosphere of the Bulgarian national revival. The building was built in the middle of 19th century, now is completely renovated and offers the amenities of our time. Preserving its authentic appearance takes you back centuries to feel the charm and romance of times gone by. The combination of location – in the Ancient Plovdiv reserve, close the main shopping street and many sights – and the cosiness of the original hotel interior, makes it a preferred place for rest and business for people from all over the world.

Dimitar is still the best host in Plovdiv! The Old-town location is excellent. It's very quiet at night - and easy to walking the central mall. My wife is from Plovdiv and this is the place we stay when visiting her family. See my other 5 reviews. We would not stay anywhere else in Plovdiv. The maintenance and upkeep of the hotel is excellent. It's immaculately clean. The breakfast is excellent!

Fantastic, affordable hotel in a great location

Reviewed By Grizinator

We stayed here two nights recently and everything was perfect. The rooms were very spacious, the size of a small apartment. Well stocked kitchen and a decent sized bathroom. Everything was spotlessly clean. The location was steps away from dozens of different restaurants, they even have one on location. We were also an easy walk from everything we wanted to see in town, with the train station an easy 25 minute walk. Best of all, the folks at the front desk were absolutely wonderful! The offered excellent advice on what to see in town, were super-friendly, and even arranged a cot for our toddler to sleep in, despite hotels.com indicating none was available (we did email and ask ahead of time; was set up waiting for us in our room). We will certainly look to stay here again the next time we are in town.

Staff is rude, price is overrated

Reviewed By mirelam668

I have visited the place often in the past few years. My latest visit was terrible, staff was extremely rude to me and my family to a point where they insulted us. I have always loved supporting local business but I will definitely not visit the place again. I guess staff are frustrated because of low salaries or lack of manners. They have definitely lost a regular client (this happened June 11th, around 18:30, in case anyone wonders whether it was a recent experience).
