Beautiful and Peaceful Guest House

Reviewed By Christine M

We stayed a couple of nights as part of a group in this beautifully-restored farmhouse in the countryside near Cee and Corcubion whilst walking the Camino to Fisterra. Belen, who looked after us, was delightful. She was very welcoming, efficient and helpful. She produced the most amazing breakfasts, with a different hot dish each morning and also cooked for us in the evening, taking into account all our dietary requirements. The dinners were delicious and served beautifully, they were really good value. Drinks were not expensive either. The rooms were simple but comfortable, with well-designed en suite bathrooms. The sitting room was comfortable and Belen lit the wood burner for us each evening. There was also a beautiful, well-insulated conservatory with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. There is a beautiful pool but unfortunately we did not have the weather to use it. Good Wi-fi. The stay was very restful and peaceful. We all enjoyed it very much and would love to return.

We stayed at Casa Fontequeiroso while completing the Camino dos Faros. Our room was very comfortable with a balcony with lovely views. Carmen our host was most hospitable as she provided a delicious evening meal with wine for 35 euros for both of us. Her soon was very gracious by giving us a rendition on the Galician pipes. We also enjoyed a good breakfast before departing. – Thank you Carmen

This hotel and its wonderful location were an amazing find and the highlight of our trip to Galicia and Northern Portugal. The setting is so beautiful and peaceful with the massive beach and lagoon only a few metres away. We had spacious rooms on the top floor and it was lovely to fall asleep listening to the sound of the waves. Nice and plentiful breakfast. Having dinner in the hotel's restaurant was another treat (see separate review). Owners were nice and quiet but friendly. The nearby village of Muxia has a good atmosphere and nice places for a drink and snack. I wished we had stayed for more than two nights!

A Great Stay!

At the end of our Camino we wanted to relax for a few days in Muxia so stayed two nights in the centre and then two nights at La Cruz. This hotel is a couple of blocks away from the busy area, but still with fantastic views of the harbour. La Cruz was so much more peaceful & quiet that we were very happy that we moved hotels. The room on the third floor had a wonderful ocean view, was a good size, modern and nicely decorated, with a nice big bathroom and good shower. Breakfast was simple but one of the best we had on the Camino - the bread they use is organic and delicious! It’s not included but is reasonably priced. Staff in the restaurant are friendly and manage enough english that we could communicate. We would definitely recommend a stay at this nice, medium priced Pension.

Too expensive for what it is...

Nice building from the outside but the charm stops at the room door. Lots of details make the 10-12 sq m room not worth 75 euros. I was disappointed by the very cheap furniture (including cheap synthetic wooden floor) and soap provided, absence of decoration, cleanyness of walls left to be desired (dead musquitos), hugly tv set hanged on wall, limited view. Breakfast is ok.

We turned up to recover our bags, which had been sent to the wrong location. The lovely lady at Restaurant Aleman had called us to tell us our bags had arrived there while we were still walking the Camino. She then rang our hotel to let them n is we had arrived. We had an excellent beer, an excellent wine, an excellent gin and tonic and some very tasty raciones waiting for our taxi. The fresh seafood raciones on the menu sounded delicious.
