Chateau de Beaulieu is a beautiful and romantic 18th-century castle nestled in the middle of a park with hundred-year-old trees, and situated just 200 meters from the banks of the Loire River and 2.5km from the lovely town of Saumur. Listed as a 'Monument Historique' by the French Ministry of Culture, Chateau de Beaulieu is recognised for its light and elegant architecture. At the chateau you can enjoy French billiards, or a swim in the heated pool set amongst the vine rows of the vineyard.Dr & Mme Coady-Maguire purchased Chateau de Beaulieu in 2003, and guests can be assured of a warm and friendly welcome to their home.

Reviewed By nitae100During our 2021 Loire valley road trip we stayed at the Chateau de Beaulieu for two nights and had a wonderful time. What made the experience stand out was the kindheartedness and helpfulness of our hosts that radiates throughout the whole place and provides it with a wonderful warm atmosphere. Staying at Beaulieu, therefore, felt not like staying at an anonymous hotel but rather being welcomed into a family home. Premise Nice old Chateau that feels cozy and lively at the same time. The first floor of the main building contained the breakfast room, a billiard room and a sitting area with lots of books, providing the whole building with a personal touch and lovely décor. We also enjoyed the big garden and the swimming pool with sun loungers that provided ample opportunity to relax after a long day of driving and visiting the area. Parking was included and there was plenty of space for the car as well. Drive to Saumur is short, one could even walk. Watch for the sign for the Chateau as our rental car’s GPS did not quite find the exact spot. Room Spacious standard room with a comfortable bed and charmingly decorated, so one felt like staying in a Chateau as you’d imagine it. Big windows provided a nice view. Bathroom was big as well. Walls were soundproof and the free wifi on the slower side. Breakfast Definitely one of the highlight breakfasts of our trip! It is served around one big table in the dining room, which creates a homey atmosphere as you can interact with the other travelers. We were served freshly baked Croissants, Yoghurt, baguette and cheese and fresh fruit. Hospitality Mary and Connor are wonderful and very welcoming hosts and we had a lovely time chatting with them. They saved us from becoming homeless for a night by sorting out our booking mistake without any fuss. Their recommendations for food very impeccable, so do listen to them.

Reviewed By Agnes EWe have stayed multiple times in this hotel that has everything to make your stay comfortable. Soundproof is very good too. The triple rooms are bigger than other hotel chains. Our son loves the buffet breakfast especially the hot chocolate! It's nice to be in a simple accomodation very clean with very good level of services.

Reviewed By AlbywonThis is a multi purpose working Château that has, I think, a respite facility for special needs children. I think that is fantastic but you do need to be aware that this is not a high priced luxury Loire Château. Breakfast was great, large selection and ample quantity.We found Margaux, who runs the front desk, to be incredibly helpful and very professional. Lots of good tips for the whole surrounding area. We booked 4 nights but ended by organisation of that. Rooms were spacious and had good bathrooms. They are not period furnished. We stayed in Room 16 for 4 nights then Room 14 for 3 nights. Despite being smaller Room 14 was the best and had a large bathtub! Breakfast was great, large selection and ample quantity. A very quiet area - you need to drive about 10km to get to a supermarket - but great if you are travelling by car. We hope to return for a weeklong stay again next year

The room when you come in has a wood fireplace, then the stunning bathroom, and beautiful bedroom upstairs. SO UNIQUE! Pictures on their website are accurate. The breakfast was plentiful and made with local products. The owners were very friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Thank you!

Reviewed By Hanka27We had a fabulous stay at La Cotiniere, one of the best chambres d'hotes we have stayed at in France. The room was well equipped, what we especially liked was the tuffeau stone wall and the 3 troglo caves behind the house! A real experience! We also liked the outside space, a large garden with comfortable garden furniture. Christophe is a great host, very warm and hospitable, very attentive to his guests' needs, always ready to give you advice.

Unfortunately the lovely breakfast which we hoped for based on the evening meal , was a let down with a very basic offering and luke warm coffee . However would return another time but probably opt out of the breakfast which is extra .

In a vineyard, on the hills overlooking the Loire, near Ancenis, between Nantes and Angers, our guest house, can accommodate 8 people. It includes a studio of 35m2 with 2 beds 2 persons, shower room, wc.Elle is equipped with a kitchenette and for your relaxation of a billiard table, television and a living room of garden outside.Panorama on the the Loire Valley. We also propose a parental suite composed of 2 rooms, the first with 1 bed 2 persons, shower and washbasin, the second with 2 beds 1 person, wash-hand basin and a toilet for all, living room in the garden, point of view on the vineyard. Continental breakfast is served under the veranda.
Lovely guesthouse situated in the vineyards
Reviewed By ZzanZaraWe stayed one night at the “Vignes” room in Marie-Thé’s guesthouse while travelling through the Anjou region. The B&B is situated overlooking the vineyards of the Domaine des Galloires which is a great view to wake up to and to take a morning walk. At the Domaine, you can taste the Coteaux d’Ancenis Red and Rosé wines as well as the local speciality, sweet Malvoisie white wine. Marie-Thé was very friendly and welcoming and the B&B was very good value for money - however, the room was small and basic with an integrated shower, but very clean and well kept. The breakfast was good, with homemade jams, served in a pleasant glasshouse on the terrace. For a good local specialities dinner, we’d recommend La Citadelle in Champtoceaux, about a 5 minute drive away. Otherwise, Marie-Thé can also give many recommendations on activities in the region.
