The 10 best Bed and Breakfast Inns in Lanzarote, Spain

April 26, 2023 Major Galusha

Ahhh, Lanzarote: The Canary Island paradise where you can ride a camel into the sunset and then dine inside a candlelit cave. The rock formations of Los Hervideros will take your breath away, as will the views from the Mirador del Rio lookout point. Legend has it that locals would hide from pirates in the underground caverns of Cueva de los Verdes, which are now open to curious visitors. Above ground the Jardin de Cactus will teach you all about the spiny desert plants.

We went today for the tasting menu with wine from bodega Vulcano. What an experience. The food was excellent and the wine superb. But, the whole team made the experience. It is easy to forget the team behind the scenes, and the front of house staff. They made the day. Thank you for the best tasting menu and experience. We will be back and next time stay over at this amazing boutique hotel. Well done guys, you should be so proud of your ability to serve customers.

PERFECTLY ADEQUATE IN A GOOD LOCATION

Reviewed By cannylad1973

This Hostal is located in the Old Town, in the popular Charco de San Ginés area of Arrecife with its array of bars, shops and restaurants. It's about 10minutes walk from the airport bus stop. As its 'Hostal/Pension' designation suggests, it offers basic but perfectly adequate accommodation. The check-in process was made easy and straightforward by welcoming, friendly staff. The room overlooked an inner courtyard, and was clean and comfortable: A wardrobe/shelving space for clothing, a small collapsible table and 2 stools, a wall mounted fan, mini fridge and small TV. The bathroom was clean and the decent sized shower offered a plentiful supply of high pressure hot water. The hostal has no elevator, so rooms can only be accessed by stairs. There is a well stocked communal kitchen/dining area which guests can use to prepare and eat food. There's also a pleasant sun terrace with tables and chairs. There's a mini-supermarket almost next door. If you're looking for somewhere cheap, cheerful and in a great location, this hostal ought to be just fine.

Didn't quite live up to expectations

The hotel has lots of character but had a definite out-of-season vibe. Partly because the weather was wet and chilly. Most of the little sitting areas that are shown in the photos were either un-usable or completely absent. The pool area was lovely but usually too cold to sit out. The room was large, nicely fitted out, but freezing. Even when the sun is out I doubt that room (Blue) is ever warm. No coffee/tea facilities. No sign of the sauna. But the worst thing was the communication with the owner: 1. we were asked the day before arrival what time we would arrive (we said 4pm) even though we'd answered this question already via booking.com. But on arrival the place was utterly deserted. After a while we decided to phone. The owner was expecting our call (!) but said he could not be there for an hour. However he would ask the gardener to meet us there in 15 mins. Why agree an arrival time then have nobody there to meet us? Or even explain we should phone on arrival? Not a great welcome! 2. breakfast was provided in the little corridor outside our room. The first morning it was lovely, with the doors open looking out onto the pool. But the food was identical every single day. And on cold mornings we needed coats on as, without the doors open, there was not enough light to eat by. By the last morning we persuaded the owner to let us eat in the dining room with the other guests, which was MUCH better! I know there has been covid restrictions, but restaurants were always full, so why we needed to eat in a cold corridor on our own was a mystery. 3. one day we returned to the hotel to find the electricity off in our room. We phoned the owner and left a message. When no call back happened after half an hour we investigated; we found a fuse cupboard in the corridor in which one of the circuit breakers was off. We switched it on, and lo and behold we had power again! We phoned again to say we had sorted it out ourselves. But the next morning the owner had still not even noticed the missed calls from us! Supposing we had been in pitch black all night? Apparently he had been at the opera in Gran Canaria, but he really should have given us a local contact for emergencies! We did enjoy Haria, esp all the Cesar Manrique attractions and the village and local restaurants. Its just that the hotel was not quite up to scratch. Maybe we can blame covid :-)

A very nice house, excellent owner. Thank you!!! :-)

Reviewed By AlbertSalichs

The house is very well located, in the entrance of San Bartolomé, a little town in the center of Lanzarote. The bed is comfortable, the bath-room has all you need to stay some days. The terrace is big and it has wonderful views of surroundings. The owner was very friendly: she helped me always I needed and she and her daughter's were very nice. Thank you! :-) On the other hand, the furniture of the room is a little poor. A bigger wardrobe is necessary in the room.

A beautiful family run B&B with one of the best locations on the entire island - you can reach all of the best beaches and spots within 20 minutes drive at most. The hosts are friendly and have us great tips about what to do’s on the island. the rooms are sustainably created and every little detail is thought through - notice the hand made soap in the bathrooms and the exquisite collection of organic teas in every room! and not to talk about the breakfast - anything your heart could desire if not more - if you are lucky you might get to try a fresh passion fruit from the garden or the handmade daily fruit cake. we cannot wait to come back here soon and can wholeheartedly recommend this to everyone!
