Reviewed By DanSSwingThis was the most Bulgarian of hotels, with revival architecture and amazing homemade banitsa for breakfast. There was even a cat with kittens living in a large garden vase in the courtyard. A great hotel experience all around.

This nice family hotel on the outskirts of Gabrovo is situated in scenic surroundings on the foothills of the Balkan mountains, close to the Siwek river. The way to the open-air museum of Etar passes the hotel, which offers you 2-star comfort in an authentic atmosphere all year round. The peace and calm of this region, the fresh mountain air and the enchanting beauty of nature are ideal conditions to totally relax and forget everyday stress.

Reviewed By KoninginRubyWe stayed just for one night in Hitar Petar hotel in Gabrovo but this was enough to estimate the excellent services provide by the owner of the place and his wife. They both are hospitable, nice people who will take care of you to make your stay there as pleasant as possible. The room was clean and newly furnished, bathroom was excellent. About food you can have breakfast and/or dinner on spot and you can choose from as menu a la carte. Dishes are prepared with local, very delicious products. While you are enjoying your meal you can have a friendly relaxing chat with the owners. The hotel is located very close to a number of places worth to be seen – the Open Air Ethnographic museum “Etar”, Sokolski monastery, Interactive museum of Industry in Gabrovo. Next spring we will be there again for more than one day. Strongly recommend!

Cosy place in the middle of nowhere
Reviewed By mariupolerNot bad service, beautiful nature. Strange bathroom design - when you take a shower, the whole bathroom become a pool of water. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere - no shops of cafes in the walking distance. You have to drive or walk a long distance - about 30 minutes - to the nearby village of Bozhentsi, so the name of the hotel is a bit misleading. It was quite cold at the end of May.

The place is nothing without the view. It is not worth it at all....
Reviewed By dosibgThe location of the hotel is exceptional. But that is all. Basic rooms, quite small and even though we stayed in apartment. For three nights stay - none of the days the room was cleaned or the towels were changed..... Very poor service in the restaurant. The quality of the food is just at the limit not to stay hungry..... I DO NOT recommend - just take it as a pass through just to see that view going to some other better place.

Reviewed By PacoLazarovFor me this is a motel. Very poor breakfast..actually the hotel chooses for what your breakfast will look like. Unfortunately we stayed 5 nights so we "enjoyed" that part of their hospitality 3 times. And it is just grilled bread and cheese if you are wondering. No questions ask about allergies, diet whatsoever . Anyhow, very poor room condition . Very old furniture, all types of crazy color on the walls and TV is that small, that you gotta sit next to it if you may wanna watch it. Bathroom was ok size, but moldy here and there. The owner of the hotel is an absolute c**nt and made us feel so unwelcome. (he actually told me that is not ok for me to refill small bottle of water from the dispenser by the lobby. There was no cups next to it if you may wonder again) The whole feeling of this place is just very disappointing. I wouldn't pay any price or even stay there for free again, just because it made us sad every day. The only reason we stayed is because it was paid and booked by a friends who poorly misjudged it. To not sound so bitter there's two positive things I can mention: some of the staff are actually nice and helpful and we had a big balcony. That's about it :D I really can't believe the score this place has gotten. Definitely doesn't match the reality. You can try for yourself, but I don't recommend the experiment !

Reviewed By Hristina KLocation is good. Food is not bad but the service and the personal was terrible except for one blond waitress girl. All other personnel had very bad attitude. Other problem was that we had apartment booked with breakfast and were two adults and one 2 year old kid. They asked for additional fee for breakfast for the kid (never happened till now).
