Great family friendly hotel

Our first visit to Orlando and the Hyatt regency grand cypress. First impressions were good, the hotel is huge and it’s quite an impressive foyer/building when you arrive. Check-in was speedy and friendly. The room was nice, good bathroom and well furnished, though there was a small issue that there was not enough storage for the 4 of us (2 adults & 2 children), we coped but it was a pain. The breakfast was awesome and the pool area was fabulous, the kids loved it. There are lots of activities that you can do that are all included too, pitch and putt, climbing wall and kayaks… oh and bikes! The service round the pool was excellent and although the drinks were expensive, they were good, as was the food at the pool bar. Location wise… it is great for all the parks… Disney and universal were close and there were loads of fantastic restaurants nearby too. Ubers were really easy and great value. The staff at the hotel were really friendly as was pretty much everyone we met in the US.

my favorite

This is one of my favorite Disney hotels. The reason is the short walk to the buses and the food court, plus the hand dipped ice cream rather than just the mickey bars.. The pool is smaller and with less panache but there are plenty of umbrellas and I was able to get one every single day of my stay. When will Disney realize that there are rarely any one in the sun drenched lawn chairs but rather every one is huddled under the umbrellas. Rooms were standard and comfortable and I especially liked the glass shower doors. Also the food was very good unlike the okay food at the moderate hotels we stayed in previously. Good price, good food, easy transportation and hand dipped ice cream.

Very Impressive Disney Resort

Reviewed By John V

I spent five nights at the Coronado Springs Resort in order to attend a conference. My last Disney hotel stay was at the All Star Sports Resort over 20 years ago. The hotel grounds are amazing, it really feels as if you've been transported to the Southwest. I had a Casita room, which was pretty nice, and much larger than the All Star Rooms. Most rooms at the Coronado Springs are set up motel-style, with exterior corridors. The only exception are the Tower Rooms. I appreciated the double sinks in the bathroom. Housekeeping cleaned the room every other day. Be prepared to do a lot of walking at this resort. The main pool features a Mayan Temple and water slide, and is a lot of fun. You may have some trouble finding a lounge chair during busy periods, but Staff always seemed to have activities for the kids. I walked by the quieter Casita pool numerous times, but didn't use it myself. One night I had dinner at Toledo on the top floor of the tower. The food was excellent and so were the views. My only disappointment was the Mercado Food Court. Breakfast and lunch were entirely medicore and quite expensive. The prices at Toledo weren't significantly higher, yet the food was so much better. There are 4 bus stops at the Coronado Springs, and buses ran pretty frequently to DIsney parks. Although I came mainly for the conference, I definitely had a great time at the Coronado Springs and would return.

Beautiful Atmosphere!

Reviewed By 482kristinv

The Port Orleans French Quarter is a beautiful hotel! We loved our stay here. It truly feels like you are in New Orleans with the beautiful buildings, landscaping, music, and food. The grounds are so amazing with beautiful flowers, huge trees, and these little areas with fountains and benches tucked away on each street. We ate the Float Works many times and took advantage of the $20 refillable mugs, those are a lifesaver especially with kids. We were constantly filling them up, getting water, and our coffee in the morning. We definitely enjoyed the beignets from the lobby on several occasions. The room was perfect, it’s not huge but was so nice to come back to at night. This hotel isn’t the biggest at Disney which makes it nice to walk around and your room is never far, which is especially good when you are tired from a long day in the park. We did do the nightly campfire one night which was fun, would have loved to enjoy the movie night but unfortunately missed it. All of the cast members were super nice! A really great amenity is the boat to Disney springs, such a nice little ride. Overall, I loved it there and would definitely go back!

first Disney trip

We had a great time at Port Orleans Riverside over Memorial Day week. Stayed in Alligator Bayou building 25 with fifth sleeper, which our 7 year old adored. Bell services very accomodating, took us by golf cart with our luggage and grocery delivery to our room within 15 minutes of arrival. All staff very friendly and helpful. Pools were great, we mostly used the quiet pool closest to our building for convenience and relaxed atmosphere. The landscaping and resort grounds were very pretty and peaceful. Quick walk to west depot bus stop before and after each park day, always had a seat and screens at busstop to tell you when next bus arriving, never a long wait. We rode the boat to Disney springs for dinner and shopping one evening, fun to see resort and French quarter this way. Mobile ordered some food from food court, decent and convenient. We had housekeeping do light cleaning and refresh towels on day 2, they did a complete bed linen change on day 4 of our stay. Called for more coffee and blankets and both were delivered quickly. Would recommend, and would probably stay there again if we return to Disney!

Worst customer service

Reviewed By Lazienah

I am very disappointed regarding my stay at 7769 Maingate Resort from June 6th to the 9th. I booked this room despite the reviews and unfortunately for me and my family we woke up to bed bugs. The front desk could not be reached so On my way to Disney (which is my reason for visiting) I stopped by and let the person at the front desk know. She informed me when I returned to come back to the front desk. This lady was very sweet. Upon returning for the evening, I went to the front desk and discreetly let the clerk know my reason. Now I can completely understand things are beyond this young lady’s control and I don't have any negative comments towards her. I am however disappointed in the treatment after. My family and I have bite marks all over our body. I didn’t book a room for me and my family to get bitten up. The other lady at the front desk claimed she is a manager and said if I don’t like getting bitten up why don’t I check out and the park was more important than bed bugs because I would have checked out earlier. I’m sorry but what? Isn't this the reason guests stay at this hotel? I didn’t realize this person is the spokesperson for this resort and I certainly can’t imagine this is the type of customer service this property want to be known for. She refused to give me her name and acknowledge me. I didn’t have to be discreet in the first place and I sincerely was hoping this could have been dealt with professionally because I am a true believer in customer service. The lack of professionalism, understanding, and accountability is truly disappointing.

Amazing stay

Reviewed By LisaJ450

I stayed at the Caribbean Beach with my 10 year old daughter for 2 weeks. We were in the Aruba building. It's no more than a 5 min walk to main pool area and reception/food court. We were very close to the sky liner station. Aruba and the other buildings also has its own pool, no lifeguards are at these pools., it doesn't have any slides but nice to have a  pool so close. If you have a resort cup you can refill these at the ice stations which are signposted. There is also a laundry room in Aruba, I bought my own washing tablets from home and the machine and dryer is $3 each to use and you pay by card. Our room had 2 double beds and a pull down sleeper bed. Beds were really comfortable. Shower is nice and powerful. No need to bring flannels, shampoo, conditioner or body wash as all provided for you. Towels are refreshed every other day. There is a washing line which you can pull put to use in the bathroom. The room also has a table with 2 chairs and a fridge. For 2 people we had plenty of storage for clothes. Room has a safe which is free to use. Was fab to get the skyliner to epcot and Hollywood studios. Bus services run to other parks and disney springs. Each area has its own bus stop and there are also internal resort buses. Services were regular and return buses stop in each area of the hotel. Details of the bus times are in the my disney app. Main pool area is great, has 2 slides and the life guards are very vigilant. Felt very safe. Food court was lovely, never had a bad meal. I started ordering kids meals which were still a good size and helped keep food costs down. There is also a pool bar/food area to use. There is another restaurant on site but we didn't use that. The staff were friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. On site for $20  you can get a refillable drinks cup. Highly recommend this and we totally got our moneys worth. There is a shop on site selling disney merchandise and some basics. Walmart is approx 10 minutes drive away if you want to stock up on a few supplies. You can see the Epcot fireworks from the hotel as well. There is a movie shown each night and also a campfire. The movie preview starts at 8pm and movie starts at 8.15 (time will change to 8.30 from June). Towels are provided to sit on. First 15 mins or so of the movie its still light while sun is setting. Still a nice experience though Really loved our time at this hotel. Don't be put off by what building you are in. It's a big site but absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to come back!

Great service, nice and friendly people, food (walk up market) what you would expect and the rooms were clean and nice (updated since my last visit - thank goodness! ). Bathrooms still really do not work for a family of 4 but larger than expected and nice to have toilet in separate area just wish the shower was not a glass door so that multiple people could be getting ready at the same time. Being able to walk to Magic Kingdom was the real benefit. With the new early hours for all at all parks bus service was not great and the real surprise was after a long day at a park waiting over 30 minutes for a bus back to the hotel (3 - 6 buses had come and gone for nearly every other hotels during this window and then to get on and it not be a direct bus - nope had to stop at Ft. Wilderness - really 2 of the top level hotels share a absolutely crammed bus - something was clearly off with dispatch! Clearly the bellman's arrival recommendation of using LYFT to get to the parks was spot on.... the morning wait for early buses was also a disappointment that we avoided after day 1.
