The 10 best All-inclusives in New York, United States

April 19, 2023 Marianna Hollaway

New York State has it all – booming metropolises, majestic waterfalls, mountains, wine country, chicken wings. Yes, NYC is a magnet for tourists, but an exploration of the rest of the state can be equally thrilling. The Finger Lakes Wine Region is a vision of serene waters, quaint B&Bs, and pretty vineyards. Movie buffs will love Rochester, home of the George Eastman House and one of the world’s most comprehensive film archives. On your way to Niagara Falls, stop in Buffalo to fuel up on spicy wings.

Old but dignified

Arriving at10.45 pm after flying in from London, I was feeling a but tired and apprehensive ....Amazing foyer area in this Art Deco Hotel. Staff were friendly, my check in was a breeze, done in a matter of minutes and straight up to my room. Spotlessly clean room which wasn't overly large but it was all I needed for a trip to NYC, as I intended to be out and about not cooped up. large bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside tables, safe, bath and shower, decent mirror, plenty of towels and constant hot water. The fittings may have been the original but worked well. A/C but no kettle or fridge, I coped!! The chamber maids were around every day and always spoke, lobby staff friendly and helpful only issue here was at busy times there are not enough lifts for 950+ rooms. The Hotel is close to Broadway, Central Park, Macy's. 7th Ave, Empire State, Restaurants and bars nearby and of course the subway is there as everywhere. Tic Tock diner was ok, attentive staff and basic 'diner food' slightly expensive but then again it's central NY. Big question - would I stay there again Yes I would. Virgin Airways staff stay there so it can't be that bad.

I usually never write reviews, and we aren't very picky, but... 1. The bathrooms are small, lighting is bad, pipes are sticking out everywhere. Not sanitary. 2. The service is horrendous. Every day after room service, towels go missing. We called 3 times within the span of 2 hours, and have yet to receive any towels. We cannot take a shower. The front desk is also impatient during our calls, and insists that the people are either doing laundry or going through their room service orders. But it's been 2 hours. 3. The safe also does not work properly.

Stayed here as part of a business meeting at the NYSE. Hotel is quiet, modern, clean and comfortable. Staff is accommodating. My room was nice and spacious, great shower. The hotel restaurant had great dinner. Easy 5 minute walk to the NYSE. Brandt in the sale department was very helpful in getting me a suite for our other business associates. I would stay here again! Thank you.

Very poor experience

Reviewed By R7437QSbobd

My family and I have been coming to this resort for 40 years. That’s correct. Multiple times each year and for forty years. We absolutely loved the Villa Roma and mAde great memories. Over the past decade the hotel has gotten worse every year. This place was never a five star resort and the rooms all need a major overhaul. Nevertheless, we could look past the age if they simply maintained what they have. The housekeeping is abysmal and we actually started to bring our own cleaning supplies. Linens don’t fit the bed and have staining. Basic maintenance is also non existent. When we checked in this winter our room had basic issues like a cracked toilet seat, missing light bulbs, a non working telephone, electric outlets that were hanging out of the junction boxes, etc. The pool was even shut down by the health department when we were there last summer. Forget renovations as the property maintenance has gotten away from them. When you talk to management they are always rich with excuses. Yes everyone is understaffed. But the hotels issues have been the same for over a decade. Go back and read some of the older reviews on here. You will see the same themes going back ten years. We will be back in June. I have never been compelled to write a review and really don’t feel good about a negative one. Sadly if the state of affairs are the same, a forty year tradition will be over. Let’s hope this hotel listens to their customers before it’s too late. It may already be too late for this customer and his family.

Gio was so friendly and provided very prompt service, when I arrived I was greeted with a smile and the whole check in process was such a pleasure. I felt very welcomed and attended to, I would definitely recommend this hotel just on the customer service alone. I look forward to booking again ?.
