Texas, United States Food Guide: 4 Mediterranean food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Dallas

August 7, 2020 Karren Gelb

Find out what Mediterranean restaurants to try in Dallas. You may have all heard that everything is bigger in Texas. Well, Dallas does its best to fulfill that promise. You'll find several museums with vast art collections and fascinating specialty museums like The Sixth Floor Museum/Texas School Book Depository, which, though small in size, offers an immense amount of information about the assassination of John F. Kennedy. And of course, visit a local steakhouse for a terrific (and enormous) meal.

I had not been here for several years, no real reason other than I am busy trying lots of new and different restaurants in Dallas. It has not changed much if at all. Still serves high end food. It's a bit pricey in my opinion but that's Highland Park.I really wanted to order a lamb gyro but it was $18 and I am not paying that much for a gyro. So I compromised and ordered something else.My alternative was the chicken gyro that was really good, liked it a lot. Very filling and tasty ($13). The wife ordered the lamb burger ($15) and instructed me to say that it lacked seasoning. Needed salt or something, so it was rather flat. She said Hopdoddy has a much better lamb burger. We started with the artichoke hummus that was good but a rather small portion for $11. Service was attentive. The restaurant is clean and upscale. I hope I don't wait so long to return next time.Thank you for your review Russ. We value and rely upon feedback. Our restaurant uses only the freshest, organic ingredients and unfortunately, healthier food does cost us more which translates to a higher price to our customers. We're glad you appreciate that we serve high end cuisine. We also hope you and your wife come back and dine with us soon!

I haven't been to Ziziki's in a while, but did for a lunch meeting. The Ziziki's on Preston and Forest is easy to park to go. We arrived on the early side and had the place to ourselves. The service is good (definitely get the extra side of Ziziki sauce). Lamb plates are good. I like the salad because it seems to almost be the same, but has some extra veggies. While nothing really matched food in Greece (or Greek diners in Connecticut), Ziziki's is a good spot for Greek food.

Good--the appetizer of a variety of spreads on flatbread and the prices, which were quite reasonable. Ok--the lamb sausages on rice which were mostly a mound of rice with 5 unremarkable small sausages atop it.Could be better --the ambiance which was so dark that we needed the light from our cell phones to read the menu.
