I have picked up a lot of subs and sandwiches over the last few years from here. For the most part, I've been pretty satisfied with the place. However just last night I went in for the first time in awhile and I was quite disappointed. Ordered two salads. In the end, they tried to give me the equivalent of one salad as two. I had to argue just to get a little more lettuce. So not good.Of course now there is a $2 upcharge to turn a 6 inch sub into a salad. So the two small, not that great salads were over $14. Ouch!!So if you want a salad venture somewhere else - Panera and McAllisters not too far away.

Plumpy's Bbq

Reviewed By Grandpear

Before heading for home yesterday,I decided to try out Plumpy’s for breakfast and am happy to say it’s the best breakfast (other than the one I make) I’ve had during my many visits to Arlington. I think it’s better than Bryant’s in Memphis as well, and a lot closer. I just had a simple order of scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, grits and toast. The bacon portion was plentiful and exceptionally tasty. A great recommendation by my friendly waitress by the way. The eggs were really good; not dried out, and the grits were excellent too.Loved the old style decor, and the playing of country music. Just a really cool place where you feel right at home. And I’m from the Northeast! Prices are good too. Can’t wait for our next visit so I can take the whole family. I will also have to make it a point to try out the BBQ. I’m assuming it has to be as good as the breakfast.

Always have to make at least one stop at Rizzi’s when in town visiting family. Being from New England where there are many authentic Italian restaurants to choose from, we can sometimes be a bit critical when we have that kind of food down here. Sure, it may a little bit different than what we may be used to, but it’s still pretty darned good and we always come back for more. I had an anchovy pizza, personal size, asking for the the little fishies on top of instead of under the cheese. They do make a nice pizza that’s thin and has a great crust. My wife and daughter had the ravioli dinners (spinach and mushroom) with a cheese sauce. They enjoyed their meals, although the portions were not very plentiful. The salad serving looked like something for a small child, served on a small bread dish instead of a salad bowl. This, I can tell you is not typical Italian. A big salad with plenty of rolls to sop up the dressing is pretty common up North. The rice and cheese balls (Arancini) appetizer on the other hand, was a generous portion and really delicious. Would love to see some peas added to this recipe, but not a big deal. The cheese and sausage (kielbasa) appetizer was a little different, especially with what appeared to be a type of rub incorporated onto the cheese and meat slices. This must be ‘Southern’ Italian cuisine. I don’t care. It was good. A larger portion of sausage would also be a plus. The dipping sauce was good too. As I alluded to in the beginning, the Italian food here may not be exactly what we’re used to, but it was still very good and we’ll be back again next time to try something different. The criticism I’ve given is minor and hopefully will be considered and improved upon. I wish for continued success to Rizzi’s for many years to come.

We love Slingshots, everything is homemade, they even cut there own French fries! Literally everything is good but my favorites are the pork chop (fried or grilled) spinach mashed potatoes, fried eggplant, deviled eggs. The list goes on, getting hungry just thinking about it. PS. The Firehouse burger is great also if you like spicy!
