The Greek gyro was good. The chicken and eggs I would not order again. The eggs and gravy were simple eggs and gravy. The diced potatoes were good. I was disappointed in the chicken strips, they were fried with a hard dark crust and some of the chicken meat was tough.

The Red Rooster is what I would call a "meat and three" type restaurant. Hendersonville, Tn has several restaurants like this but The Red Rooster does it all. They serve breakfast and lunch. They offer quick service. Their staff is always friendly and very attentive. The food is great and they offer my favorite, salmon croquettes. They make these like my mama made them. No, the atmosphere here is not sophisticated like the big name restaurants, but the people here are warm and friendly, the tables are clean and I always feel welcome each and every time I go in to eat.

Ate breakfast this morning on long 4th of July weekend. The place was crowded, but was met by an excellent lobby hostess who was seating and cleaning tables to get everyone served as quickly as possible. We ended seated at the counter on the high stools( not my favorite place ) but was quickly greeted by Donna our waitress. She was quite friendly and efficient. We both ordered the Cheese and Eggs breakfast. I had not really noticed before or maybe it is because this restaurant is new but on the menu with most of the combo type breakfasts you now have a choice of hash browns , grits, oatmeal, or tomato slices. I chose the healthier tomato slices. Hubby chose the more southern grits. Just watching the cooks and waitresses is awesome. They were working together as a real team to get out a lot of breakfasts quickly. We got our breakfasts really quickly and they were delivered to us hot and ready to eat. I loved the cheese eggs and this plate comes with raisin toast which was cooked perfectly along with the crispy but not burnt bacon, apple butter and my tomatoe slices. The tomatoes were a little tasteless but it is just now getting where you can get homegrown ones in TN. So I can't really fault them there. We passed by another Waffle House to come to this one and we have another one even closer to our house. This experience was so nice I think we will pass them up again when we want a Waffle House breakfast. Good job team!

have you ever thought that every Waffle House is staffed by the same band of characters? This one is the same! The food is the same at this location as 99.9% of every Waffle House in America. This is what late nite customers want! Decent food at a decent price with efficient, competent service with no muss and no fuss. We ate here late last night after a football game and the foot hit the spot. We sat, ordered, ate and we're headed out, full and satisfied.
