Everything is super delicious, affordable (if you like salted food, the Nepali is a must try)and the little cafe inside the store has a cozy feel. There are 6 tables with seats for 2 on each side (like little booths)Vegetarian Thali! Loved all dishes, but My no1 is the eggplant,... no, the cauliflower,... no: the chickpea with mushroom, or the peas soup, even the greens (which I usually not eat), or the tofu with peas... anyway: all. Also the dish comes with lasi sauce for gulab jamun and the gulab jamun is not from the box, some fresh vegetables and rice, and a chapati and a luchi bread. Oh, must not forget the pickled mango! Super delicious

Mikado Japanese Restaurant

Reviewed By AlfredoMartin

In the last 5 years, our favorite Hibachi style restaurants (Kobe and Omikoshi) closed. So we have been searching for the best option. Skip Shogun in Franklin. Their food is not adequate. Come to Mikado. Let's start with the service. It's friendly and prompt. Now on to the food. The miso soup is quite tasty, and the ginger sauce for salad is very good. You must have the shrimp. It's outstanding. A good combination is to add filet mignon or chicken. You will be satisfied. The decor does look old, and restaurant does not look contemporary. It does need a renovation. Again the food is good. You will enjoy it if you like Hibachi style. It's a great restaurant for the family.

What are you really enjoyed the rice noodles which were called drunken noodles. We also got several appetizers such as the dumplings which were delicious. And ordered some sushi rolls which were fresh and tasted very nice the restaurant is definitely worth visiting.

Thai Papaya

Reviewed By Godenar

We’ve passed Thai Papaya many times on the way back and forth to the airport and Sam’s Club (just down the street), and finally stopped in for lunch.A simple but pleasantly-decorated place, with uncovered tables and booths and a tray of sauces and condiments on each table. Napkins from pop-up dispensers on the tables. And a Health Department rating of 95/100! We had only seen the name, “Thai Papaya” from the street (the restaurant is in a strip mall on busy Harding Place), but the lower part of the logo does say “Thai, Sushi, & Vietnamese Food.” And not just sushi, but other Japanese dishes and Bento boxes (see my photo of the take-out menu).Lunch service was a bit odd and detached, as I now see that some earlier reviews (although some are from 3 years ago) have noted— but acceptable. Our meal was served quickly. When we asked to confirm that we could get rice noodle dishes Gluten-Free, our server had no idea what we were talking about. We able to determine that soy sauce couldn’t be left out of sauces because sauces are already prepared. And, we learned, there’s soy sauce in the Phở.A bánh mì sandwich was hot, on a thick roll which wasn’t exactly French bread, but served the purpose well. Phở Gà comes in Kids ($4.95) Small ($6.95), Large, and “Super Bowl” ($10.95) sizes, and the basil, jalapeño and bean sprouts on the side were crunchy and fresh. Good-tasting broth. A Vietnamese Iced Coffee wasn't served at the table, but came already mixed from the kitchen but it was creamy and sweet, the way I like it. Thai Papaya had no dessert available (at least at lunch), other than bubble teas. The food was pretty good, and reasonably priced. A good place for a simple meal or sandwich. If we think ahead the next time we’re on the way west to BNA, Thai Papaya might be a good place to pick up a bánh mì or spring rolls before a flight, or to bring with us on a flight.

I read about this place ages ago but it's not really in my usual stomping grounds, so today I was there at lunch time and checked it out. From the outside, you have no idea that it's such an attractive inviting place to dine. Very pleasantly surprised! The service was fast from very nice servers. Since it was my first trip, I got a bento box so that I could sample different things. The salad that came with the bento box was delicious. It does have lots of dressing, as someone else mentioned, but that dressing is so delicious that I used my soup spoon to eat every bit of it! They gave me a large serving of miso soup and honestly, I'm not much of a miso fan, so it was lost on me but if you like miso, you'll probably love it! I liked the teriyaki shrimp. Nice, fat, well cooked and spiced shrimp. Now for what wasn't up to par for me, the California roll. As one other reviewer said, it's has very little rice and it's extremely small. The wasabi and pickled ginger were great, especially the wasabi, it was POWERFUL! I will definitely go back and try some other things.

My first visit here…but not my last. This hidden gem on Nolensville Rd is a rare combination of classic Korean and Japanese foods in a family style atmosphere. Loved the assortment of small tastings provided, ranging from slightly sweet to spicy…they were a nice addition to the overall meal. Went with the deep fried dumpling as an appetizer and once cooled down had a wonderful flavor and went well with the sauces provided. My first time enjoying Bibimbap in a hot bowl…loved how it is put together and the great flavors, very tasty. The Korean beef BBQ is incredible, the flavors need no extra sauces or dipping, and I loved how it was served on a sizzling hot plate. After snipping off the meat with scissors, make sure you leave enough on the bone to savor! On a side note, the Bibimbap we ordered lacked any beef and we pointed it out to one of the servers. Within minutes, an older Korean lady comes to the table and heaps some freshly cooked beef onto the Bibimbap…LOL Just love this kind of service and passion for food. Service was great and you can’t beat the price for the amount and quality of food served.

We ordered several dishes to try out the restaurant, they were all very good. This is probably the best Chinese restaurant in Nashville so far. The specialties are seafood, hot pot and Sichuan dishes. We enjoyed the house special casserole, Sichuan beef, and chicken with garlic sauce. We will try the hotpot next time when we are in Nashville.

This is a phenomenal Korean restaurant just outside of downtown Nashville. I stopped there somewhat randomly while on a road trip.

My family (no young kids) came to Nashville to see the eclipse. We chose this restaurant the night before the eclipse because we like Korean food and it was close to our hotel. The food was delicious. The setting was fairly utilitarian, which was fine by us. Our only quibble was that the restaurant was very understaffed that night, clearly not expecting the convergence of families in town to drop off college students and families in town to see the eclipse; the couple at the next table said that they'd never seen the place so packed on a Sunday night before. The staff was trying their absolute best to contend with the volume, but it was simply not possible. The food was great, and I expect that they'll be more prepared if a total eclipse brings another horde of diners in the future. If I'm ever back in Nashville, I'll want to visit again!
