Reviewed By Bjb9554We stayed for one night with our granddaughter who is 3 years old. Arrived but no one on the reception waited a while. Unfriendly staff did not interact with us at all. Room in need of modernisation, tired and dark decor. No food available when we arrived and couldn’t find anywhere local to eat. Restaurant open in evening but very little choice , food tasteless but expensive. Drinks over priced. Breakfast basic. My granddaughter shared our food but we were still charged for her. Probably the most unfriendly hotel I’ve ever stayed I did send message to hotel prior to this review but had no response. Avoid this hotel!

Reviewed By J8878VLjogWe had an amazing time. My boys loved the pools and bouncy castle. We came as few families so it was good for my children to explore the site. I felt save to let them walk around with their friends. Definitely will consider coming back

Reviewed By Phil1404was a nice site. the staff where friendly but spoke no english, the shop on site was worse than useless had nothing in it, the lidl down the road 2 Miles away was good. the beech was amazing will return next year but stay in the layoda which looked a whole lot better. the shuttle bus was a god send.

Lovely but restrictive
Reviewed By Lucy PWe stayed in the 6 bed house. Would be a squeeze for 6 people but ideal for a family of 4. House was lovely and well equipped. Pool basic but clean and no sunbed issues despite it being hot and high season. Multi sports area well used by my son. Staff friendly and spoke very good English. My only concern was the restricted reception hours meant could not use gym, sauna, jacuzzi unless reception was open. Also tennis court had to be booked same day. Check out process was strange - had to book an appointment for someone to check cleanliness before you could leave. Alternative was to pay for end of stay cleaning. Overall, lovely relaxing peaceful site and very well located for supermarkets in Talmont and marina at Bourgonay. But slightly let down by restrictiveness and strict reception hours and policies.

The family run 3* campsite Sun Ocean is situated between Les Sables d'Olonne and Jard -sur-Mer and 5 min(vendée). from the Veillon beach. We have for rent, mobile homes, chalets, Amazon Hut, or pitches for your caravan, motorhome or tent. On site we have a heated indoor swimming and paddling pool from Easter to mid September.

Peaceful oasis
Reviewed By Liesbeth EHad a perfect week here with my husband and dog. Couldn't find out much information about it beforehand so thought I'd put some on here. The accommodation is clean and functional. Nice shower. Separate toilet. Table oven, microwave, fridge. 2 hubs. Tv. One wifi connection cable to plug into laptop, otherwise 3G only. What it really needs is a guide to the place in English, as however lovely the lady who runs the place is, she doesn't speak English and my France is embarrassingly bad these days. The view is superb, we looked out across the lake. Swallows fly past all day, it's calm . Parking is free and the gate is secure. There's a small outdoor pool , quite deep though so be careful with children. Very peaceful again. Gardens are lovely and been given a lot of thought to. There appears to be a sauna, but we didn't use it. Bedlinen needs to be preordered and costs extra. Worth bringing extra hand towels, and bin liners. We walked a lot, several bridges to cross the lake at various distances. Beautiful. Can't swim in the lake. Sorin itself consists of a few houses. The closest amenities are in nearby Talmond st Hilaire, a short drive away. The nearest beach is about 15-20 mins away. Talmond has several boulangeries and some good restaurants. Esp Le Cottage. The castle is also worth a visit. So if you're looking for a very peaceful, non touristy holiday, this is perfect.

Reviewed By Véronique DCe gîte est certes très calme, situé au fond d'une impasse, mais pour un 3 épis un peu decevant. L’accueil a été distant, sans aucune chaleur. Déco d'une autre époque, vieillot, pièce a vivre encombrée, fauteuils avachis. Grand lit confortable mais petit lit avec matelas à ressorts... Moustiques et pas de moustiquaire !! Chambre moyennement propre. Petit déjeuner basique. Chambre sous les toits. Réseau internet inexistant dans la chambre.
