Comfortable, Clean Hotel in Stone Mountain Village
Reviewed By W8LT3RMy wife and I had a very pleasant 2-night weekend stay at the Country Inn and Suites in Stone Mountain Village just off exit 9 on highway 78 (Stone Mountain Freeway). The hotel is attractively decorated with out being fancy. Across from the front desk is an attractive lounge with an electric fireplace for ambiance - a nice touch. There is a larger meeting area behind it for serving breakfast in the morning. A business center consisting of two computers and a printer. All the staff was polite, friendly and very helpful. Our room was a good size and had all the basics - a queen-sized bed with simple white bed sheets, a work desk, TV, microwave, and mini frig. The free breakfast is served from 7 am to 10:30 am on weekends. Choices for breakfast while limited were good. They served biscuits with gravy with cold, hard-boiled eggs during our visit. I was not pleased that they did not offer a hot egg dish for breakfast – like an omelet or scrambled eggs. But there was a waffle maker that makes 4 mini waffles at a time. I tried them and they were good. There was also fruit, muffins and a small selection of cereals. The hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, milk and butter are stored in a small refrigeration unit on a table. They offered decaf and regular coffee in urns. The Country Inn and Suites provides free Wi-Fi access with the room. Unfortunately, it was not working when I arrived. But the front desk was able to contact the company responsible and got it working again. I also used the Business Center to print out my boarding pass, but initially had problems with their computers that fortunately the front desk knew how to fix. First, I could not turn the computers at all. These computers have a very small on/off switch that is well hidden underneath the bottom right-hand corner of the computer. Once I turned them on, I found that one the two computers was stuck at a window installation error, and its mouse was not working. The other computer did power up and I was able to access my boarding pass to print it, but the printout was unreadable. The enlargement setting of printer properties in the computer was set to 160% and the printout was corrected by changing it to 100%. County Inn and Suites is close to number of stores and restaurants nearby. There is a Walmart Supercenter, American Deli, Metro Café Diner (Bar, Café and Diner) and a Country Breakfast place called Huskers Café in the shopping centers across from the hotel. There is a Dickey’s Barbecue, Apple bees, Stone Mountain Pizza Cafe, Burger King, McDonalds and a Japanese restaurant (Nagano) to name a few within driving distance. We really enjoyed lunch at the Metro Café Diner during our visit and highly recommend it. If you are visiting Stone Mountain area, we highly recommend the Country Inn and Suites for a clean, comfortable stay.

Extremely disappointing
Reviewed By Nancy RResort looked good when we arrived Memorial Day. We had lunch and a drink at the pool bar. It went down from there. No transportation to the golf course or any of the other attractions. We did not have a car but found a ride to the golf course from another guest. After golf the day after Memorial Day when we returned to the hotel and there weren’t any bars or restaurants open till 5:00. Only a pre made sandwich at the bistro. Every day after was the same. No room service or trash pick up even if you asked. Only clean towels at the front desk. The people working at the desk were not able to answer any questions. We played golf 2 days but left early as there was no way to get to any of the park attractions if you didn’t have a car. Very disappointing foe a Marriott.

Reviewed By momluboThis Hampton Inn was very nice and quiet. It is much better than one I used that was near I-85. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was good with waffles available each day. Waffles and quite are two required features for a good hotel.

The rooms were spacious and the bedding was like clouds, I slept like a baby. The food was great and I highly recommend this establishment for a family get away, a small intimate wedding or a couple retreat. Located near great eateries, great sights to see and most things within walking distance. A great hidden gem that shouldn’t be hidden!

Nightmare Stay

We decided on this hotel because of its centralized location and its positive reviews. Let me tell you this hotel was a nightmare. We arrived and were given the key to our room. About 5 minutes later we realized our toilet was clogged and would not flush. We went to the front and were told there were no other rooms available and that there was no one there to fix it. They handed my husband a plunger. While at the front desk a couple that had just checked in returned to the front desk because the room they were given was already occupied. We were fed up and decided to look elsewhere. There was 0 availability in the city and we had already purchased tickets for all events. We spoke to the front desk lady and she said she would speak to a manager and get us a discount. We had to use the public bathroom all night. Next morning the manager was working. She knew nothing of the events of the night prior. She stated she will call the maintenance worker to come in and would speak to the general manager about a discount. We left for the day. When we returned the toilet was fixed, a mess was left in the bathroom, and the manager was gone. on the last day the man at the front desk told my husband the manager will be in at 9:30 am. By 8:30am the toilet was no longer flushing again. At 9:30 we went to the front desk and were told the manager had a family emergency and he did not know when she would be in. He assured me as soon as the manager was in he would have her reach out. Two days later my card was charged FULL PRICE for a room without a working bathroom. This hotel and it's service is a joke. I highly recommend everyone stay away.

Reviewed By MQNIQUEthis place needs a total refresh. it’s old and run down, it’s dirty trash was all over the place, nobody cares about this place. we have never been so happy to check out of a place. no upkeep is being done. one of the walls in our room was crumbling, hair was all over the bathroom. i had to clean it before we could shower. this place is a mess.

Reviewed By PaulR392This place is lacking on many levels. The common areas are very dirty, lots of cigarette butts, bottle caps plus ground in filth! The first room they gave us smelled like an ash tray. The second had a large puddle of water outside the bathroom. This was water that leaked from a poor wax seal on the bottom of the toilet. The whole place smells like a marijuana grow op. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere different.

Old and not kept up
Reviewed By JWL5B9This was supposed to be a Marriot hotel. The location was good but very, very, very old. The rooms were called a junior suite however they were small and unkept. The corners and baseboard areas of the room were not swept, mopped or vacuumed. The room was very musty. If you have asthma definitely do not stay here.
