Charming helpful family, clean comfortable room

Reviewed By LouisaofLondon

Anjelko and his wife and their grown up children Angelina and Stephen were so charming, so helpful with everything we needed whether that was advice on walking routes, restaurants etc. They rightly said none of the restaurants are very special (their restaurant was shut for low season but I suspect it would be very good) but if you want to go out Dinko was tasty. The room was spacious and meticulously clean with a great sea view for €35 or €50 including breakfast for two. It was low season so we were the only guests but they still made eggs for breakfast on request which was great. Anjelko speaks French and German, his children both speak English. It is a short drive or 30 min walk to Paklenica from there, where we went for a great walk, about 4 hours to walk up to the lovely Mountain House for a packed lunch (or they have simple food there) and 2 hours back down. Walks to suit all abilities, lots of climbing too. Would definitely reccomend, probably only for one day! Also worth noting buses in and out of the town are not frequent, if I went again would hire a car in Zagreb.

Good location

Good offroad parking for the bikes. 3 or 4 star options is determined by which side of the road. We chose 4 because it's on the promenade and had off street parking. Hotel is clean and almost boutique. My mates had a better room than us. They had a big balcony and we had none. Their rooms decor was so a 7bit more fresh. The bed and bedding was old,  The supplementary letter as you suggest resolves this in the future a bad night's sleep. Breakfast buffet was fine. Great location afforded us a really nice swim directly in front of the hotel. The sea promenade is right there and a nice walk to the restaurants.

Toller Kurzaufenthalt - sehr empfehlenswert

Beautiful rest by the sea

A small camp with friendly staff in a pine grove. Near the coast, suitable for all ages, the beach for dogs is normal. Despite the pre-season, a rather busy camp. Close to one shop and restaurants, while the rest of the "civilization" is too far off walking. Positive rating for the camp!

She was also very accommodating and adjustable to our two kids who enjoyed every minute of tour. Great landscape, sightseeing, nature, lots of interesting facts and good company...what more to expect from tour ?

A nice summer place, if you

Reviewed By Dardaj

We booked this place firstly last year, when we made an off road adventure across the Northern Velebit. We got a very good big apartment with sea view in first floor for the cost of small one. We decided to stay here also this year, but somehow we regret this decision. The apartment was on the first floor with sea view. This is good. The kitchen is big and well equipped, the in the same room is also a couch and flat screen TV. They have free wifi, which works well. There is also a nice bathroom and big bedroom. Everything is nicely equipped and ready especially for summer season. But with a little bit more work they could sell this all year long. There is Paklenica climbing paradise just a shot away and Velebit mountain region for early spring and late autumn tours and also winter is not excluded. The Offroaders spend our time there all year long......... For example; for years they have ready made hoses for central heating which are not used yet. The problem is, that during off season there is cold and air con is only in main room, so if you would like to have warm bedroom or bathroom you have to let doors open, which oft can present some inconvenience (if you want to go in bathroom in peace :) or maybe sleep while the others are still in kitchen. But anyway, the place is nice if you like stationary summer holidays with in front of your apartment.

Beautiful location, great big pool and a fabulous Neilson team.

Reviewed By whichdestinationnext

Had never been on a Neilson holiday before but just had a great week. If you’re not into being active on holiday then this isn’t for you. I was greeted at the airport with a friendly welcome by Alex and the transfer was straight forward. Took about 1hrs 40 to get to resort. The coach was comfortable. There was also a rep, on the coach who was welcoming. A few things that I found out but weren’t mentioned: There is a lovely spa at the hotel. You can use the spa free of charge and pay extra for treatments. There is also a SkyView bar. This is open daily from 6pm. Would highly recommend watching the sunset from here. Access is from the loft near the reception. The social table at meal times. This is outside and the first round table. There is a sign which also says social table. A good idea. Welcome meeting is at 5.30pm on the first day. The pool is fabulous. So big. Considering it was half term, it was often very quiet. There are occasions when the various children’s clubs would use the pool but they’d stay in a section and so didn’t get in the way. Getting a sunlounger was always very easy and didn’t matter what time of day I headed there, there were always plenty to choose from. You can get clean towels on a daily basis from reception. The reception team were friendly and helpful. Whilst here I mostly did tennis and was impressed with the whole tennis team. Great because there are 4 ability groups so everyone can join in. They also have plenty of racquets to use if you don’t have your own. There is an organised session in the morning and then Superdrills and social tennis in the early evening, apart from Monday’s when it’s Booze and Balls! There is an additional charge for Superdrills (roughly £9 for an hour charged to the room.) All other sessions are free. At the welcome meeting you had to sign up for the first morning session but after that could just turn up to any as you please. N.B Children over the age of 14 are allowed to join in the Superdrills but no other adult tennis group. Booze and Balls is an absolute laugh and would highly recommend. So popular. There must’ve been about 60 people in the session I did. You do a mix of fun games with orange balls. The morning tennis sessions were organised with a clear structure building up to the tournament on Friday. Some good coaching points given. Tom lead most sessions and initially supported by Reubens and Jenny. Peter and Callum joined midweek and seemed a great addition to the team. Had a couple of individual lessons with Tom. Organised these whilst out here. Would highly recommend. Came away with some excellent pointers and were definitely worth having. I did aqua a few times in the week taken by Caolan. He was very enthusiastic, motivating, great tunes and overall made for a fun (and entertaining) half an hour. The lifeguards were good sports too by joining in. I didn’t do any other fitness classes so can’t comment on these. I went on one green bike ride to the National park. This was lovely and would recommend. I’m not a cyclist at all. You cycle for about 30 mins to get to the park, you’re allowed to wander for an hour and then cycle back. Great thing about coming back is there are lovely stretched of downhill! There is a 60k charge to get into the park. Card or cash is accepted. There is a cafe in the park which only accepts cash. I went with Mark and Vicky. Mark was very patient and reassuring. He was also very knowledgeable of the local area. I only went on one bike ride but as I was walking to the tennis courts, Theo in the bike team was a very affable man. Credit to the team. I didn’t do any water sports so can’t comment on that. Throughout the day there is a team of photographers snapping away. This is a great idea. They’re uploaded by about 7.30pm every evening and easy to view. There are various different packages you can choose from. All photos are given digitally ranging from one photo, 10 to unlimited. Unlimited for 7 days works out at about £101. Fergus seemed to take most of the ones I’m in and he took some good shots. The food was ok. A bit repetitive. There was some variety but marginal. It was fine for a week. All waiting staff were great. On one of the non inclusive nights there is a bbq at the hotel but didn’t go to this. A big dining area so always able to get a table. The room was ok. Comfortable and functional but nothing special. Housekeeping was ok but a bit sloppy and not to the standard I’m used to. But didn’t deter from an overall great holiday. This hotel is great because compact so everything is easy to get to. Great WiFi throughout. There’s a relatively large supermarket one way and a smaller convenience store the other (both 2-3 mins walk) which is handy. Overall a great week away. Thank you to the Neilson team.
