St. Augustine Hotels | Places to Stay in St. Augustine

June 30, 2022 Ying Subia

Saint Augustine is a luxurious, romantic vacation spot—you’ll find classic hotels and intimate restaurants. Those can be a dime a dozen, though. What sets Saint Augustine apart is its history—it’s the oldest European settlement in the U.S. And nowhere else in the world can you taste the waters of the Fountain of Youth Archeological Park (where Ponce de Leon may have landed). Who knows, if you vacation here, maybe you won’t need that Botox!

Great size room and friendly service

Very friendly and helpful employees. Room size was very large and comfortable. Balcony on 4th floor had a nice view. Good location only short walk to the beach. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant because the menu looked higher price than we wanted.

Southern Oaks Inn is always a comfortable place to stay ~ home away from home! The rooms and linens are happily so clean. The beds and pillows just pull me to sleep. It’s not easy to hear outside noise or your neighbors. This is a thoughtfully designed dog friendly inn. There aren’t any carpets (yay) and the floors are easy on the feet. There is an amazing team of people who spend their days just making this a lovely place to stay. Everything from the included breakfast (they have so much variety of food) to the laundry staff and front desk. Stay here if you want a great experience!

Edgewater Inn Stay is always great

We have stayed at this location for over 28 years. Had our honeymoon here. It is very convenient and walkable to old town. Park at the Inn and walk across the Bridge of Lions. Only issue, which we forgot to tell management, is the bathroom sink drained very slow. Not a biggie for us, but it may be for someone else.

Fabulous find!

Reviewed By Woozle-At-Large

I'm 100% in agreement with the hundreds of positive reviews for Marker 8 Hotel and Marina. Great location. Beautiful facility. Delicious breakfasts. Best staff on the planet. We stayed five nights in mid-May, and enjoyed every minute. We especially loved our second-floor balcony, with a view of the Marina, drawbridge, and marine life -- manatees, dolphins, and a variety of shorebirds. We also appreciated the gopher tortoises and ghost crabs at Anastasia State Park. In town, the Hop-On-Hop-Off Tour Bus was informative and entertaining. Columbia Restaurant in the historic district is a must, though we found the fare at Black Fly and Odd Birds to be more creative and flavorful. All in all, our visit was a smash success. Book this hotel. You'll be glad you did.

Very clean room and comfortable beds

Reviewed By dreamingparadise

We had spent the previous night at a resort on St. Augustine Beach. We decided to check out this morning because although the resort was beautiful, our purpose of staying there specifically was to enjoy the beach. Well to our surprise, the beach has washed away. After an exhausting day of sightseeing, we decided to get a hotel for the night instead of driving back to NC. Doris and Pam of the Old Town Trolley next door told me this place was clean and great customer service. They were absolutely right! I am a proud hotel snob and normally would not have even looked at a motel. When I got to the lobby I was greeted by a very friendly who did not hesitate to answer all of my annoying questions and especially the one of giving me a key to a couple of rooms so I can inspect them before giving her my credit card. I was impressed of how clean the rooms were. Every corner! Trust me I checked. The beds and pillows are new and super comfortable. It is a step in shower. Keep in mind that it is an older hotel that has had some renovations so the air conditioner is a large wall unit and the sink is IN the room not the bathroom. I stress this because normally that would be a non-negotiable for me. I ignored it because as I mentioned, the room was so clean! We did not use the pool. Since Covid, they do not provide breakfast during the week. P.S. I tend to have difficulty sleeping and slept better on this bed than at the resort the night before.
