Authentic lovely Tapas selection with the house special of Spicy Pork not to be missed, great wine and very friendly staff with an English menu available for the language challenged traveller. For the Pate enthusiast the Partridge Pate was generous and flavourful. Do note that majority of seating is outside, so take a jacket.

Had tapas and something to drink, tapas was good but not excellent. A big smile for friendly staff, but the restaurant is in a hill so not to comfy to sit outside. Didn't try anything else on the menu. If you add also value for money, guess this is ok.

The place was packed out, on a Wednesday in early September. Partly this was due to the rival establishment, El Pulpo, being closed. But even so, there were over 150 happy customers when we were there.And every reason to be happy with the quality of the food, and the value. Everything was top quality, fresh and beautifully cooked, crispy fried or nicely grilled, and very reasonable, if fish prices in this area can ever be considered reasonable!The downside was the slow service. Not the fault of the waiters. Not the fault of the kitchen. The fault of the 150 customers who all turned up at 2.30.So we had to wait until 3.35 before our food started coming. Although they did give us extra olives to stop our tummies rumbling.

Two nights ago, my wife, her bother, and I visited El Callejon for the first time. It had come highly recommended by friends, and deservedly so! - The food was delicious and inexpensive, and the portions were generous. Too, the staff was prompt and friendly, AND they had a menu in English. In a lovely relaxing atmosphere, we had a great time and filled our bellies with very tasty food! - El Callejon is behind and down a bit from Bar Casa Pepe which is also a nice place to eat, but I prefer our new find - El Callejon!*

Just happened on this restaurant whilst looking for somewhere genuine to eat. The waiter was extremely helpful and produced a variety of tapas to suit our differing tastes. He kept checking whether we had had enough or whether we wanted more. Seemed keen we were enjoying the dishes rather than trying to get us to spend as much money as possible. We sat outside but the inside was well worth seeing. Highly recommended.

With algeciras as our âHOME away from homeâ for 9 days we started by visiting the this town first. Most people would not call it a charming town, but we are a little bit funny in that way so even in the most âuglyâ or forgotten towns we find some beauty or some interesting sites. After walking from the Corte engles (kind of shopping mall with free parking) to the plasma Alta and the old style covered fresh market we started to get a little thirsty and hungry. With TripAdvisor we saw that the no 1 ârestaurantâ was only 200m away. So the choice was fast made... bar la casita was a very authentic Spanish tapa bar... we were served with drinks encredibly fast and we also had to chose our tapas fast (they say Spanish people work slow, but I have never found this the case in the restaurant business ;). But the tapas were of good quality and taste and for only 13⬠(drinks included) we had enough âfuelâ to continue our walk about the town :)

We found this restaurant with TripAdvisor's recommendation and the reviews are right on! We highly recommend this bar-café!! The food is outstanding for the price OR otherwise. And the service is really personal and great (even when blitzed with a rush of clients). Muchas, muchas gracias Pepe y camareros!!
