Often eaten here as good location for our travels in that area. Don't be put off by all the building works outside (as April 2015) as it does look a bit of a mess at the moment outside, but the quality of food and service make up for it, and certainly nothing else in the area to compare. Also a good place to just stop and have a coffee at the bar which is always good as well. I have ticked the "good for large groups" box but make that no more then 12-15 else it would be too small. Recommend eating series of various tapas and sharing rather than a starter each, everything was good and if here are 4 or 5 of you it gives the opportunity to have a good mixture.

Paella, choco, tuna, see this choice!Great local Resto for fresh food. Reserve the paella and enjoy the tapas. We took 1/2 paellla per person and enjoyed all kinds of fresh tapas.

We have been coming to La Montanera for 16 years and have enjoyed every meal weâve ever had here. The service is excellent and discreet. The cuisine is superb, always with new dishes to try. The croquetas are the best in Spain!The restaurant is always full with regulars and visiting Spaniards. Latvian chef very good always comes to ask if all ok, Spoke English which was a bonus. Large portions so we tended to share food and my husband has a big appetite. Can recommend the risottos,Iberian pork sirloin, grilled prawns and salmon in orange sauce. Salads are massive but so good. This became our favourite restaurant found at the end of our stay and lovely setting on seafront. Prices two thirds of the price in Portugal for food and drink!

Fuimos a "El Camnio" por una recomendación de un amigo, y nos hemos encontrado con un restaurante funcional, sin demasidas florituras, que tiene sus encantos escondidos, precios supereconomicos, raciones abundantes y muy buen sabor en todo lo que elegimos.Merece la pena

They really have won awards! You order them in small, half or full orders making it easy to try a few or order a bigger portion of the ones you love. Outside seating in a nice pedestrian street.

We couldnât get the waiter to serve us. He was busy but served all the Spanish people around us including people who sat down after us. Maybe because we sat at the tables in the front and wanted a bunch of tapas. When they found out we wanted to buy many things instead of just one meal they moved us four seats back and wouldnât serve us. We got a beer and a water and gave us after 30 minutes and left. Itâs a tourist town so maybe just for Spanish tourists. If they were busy it would be one thing but itâs not busy at all.

I often go to Lepe for business, always pay a visit to Felipe and his brother, normally, for dinner... forget the menu, ask them what they have fresh and challenge yourself with tasting any unknown suggestion... either meat and fish are excellent choices, local wine and/or a proper Manzanilla plus a final "chupito" digestive drink as Felipe courtesy... You will be very positively surprised by a very cheap bill at the end, excellent combination price per quality... buen aproveche!

Went here from a recommendation and wondered what we let ourselves in for, coming into a carpark but we were pleasantly surprised. Not much English spoken but we managed. Food was great and fantastic value. Many thanks Barlovento.
