One of the worse Marriotts in all of Taiwan
Reviewed By Ray CBooked a room which cost me $250 USD a night. What I was assigned was perhaps the worse room in the entire hotel. I got the room right next to the elevators so heard people constantly passing me by AND I look out the big windows and see the building right across from me (about 10 meters away) also with big windows. They can look directly into my room. I had to keep my curtains closed at all times with the sheer 100% closed and the actual curtains 50% closed for privacy. Defeats the purpose of having a hotel room with big windows. To look out the window, because the room was so small, I had to climb over the ottoman sofa thing which isn't nice. The bathroom towels were heavily textured so it appears very rough. The restaurant was also poor. Sautéed spinach ended up being poached spinach. Service was also lacking. For $250 a night, I should have had a much better experience. Breakfast was also very sad. The room itself was nice and large but the options were lacking. A basic Holiday Inn would have more options. They displayed 10 boxes of cereal was the main attraction dotted with Mr Potato Heads which was weird. Their pancakes were silver dollar sized only and very super flat and started being made at 7:16 when breakfast started at 7am. No butter also! Only honey and jam and also had no serving tongs for the pancakes. The cook used his hands to serve me the pancakes (with gloves). Stay away from this hotel unless you pay up the nose for an actual room.

Reviewed By AgoangirlI booked 3 rooms at this hotel as we were visiting family close by. Our room was big enough for a short stay and had a fridge and a great bathroom. Breakfast was included but was mainly Chinese cuisine and we had toast/fried eggs daily.

Also this hotel close to nearby bus,local market, minimarket and local tourist atraction. Every one in this hotel can speak english fluently, so dont worry if you can't speak chinese. Reviewed By 293vichWe stayed here 4 nights. The hotel is just across the from Jiantan MRT so easy to get around. Also outside the MRT are bus stops to National Palace Museum and Yangmingshan amongst other places. It’s a 5 mins walk to Shilin night market offering endless reasonably priced very tasty food options. We ate there every night. The room and facilities were great but very techno. Fancy electric loo and all! The only problem is trying to switch all the lights and switches off to get peace to go to sleep. Everything is electronic and fancy!! The only other thing to be aware of is breakfast is a bit mad for a westerner. It’s very high quality but nothing plain or simple. If you’re hoping for a piece of toast or yoghurt and fruit...you’re out of luck! I attach a photo of the menu so you’re forwarned.

Good location for someone wants to visit Yangmingshan national park, best in winter
Reviewed By chuanandfanThe facilities of Landis hotel offer Hotspring and swimming pool.The hotspring pool is very Japanese type(old fashion but well-maintained). You can book room with/without spring tub.The breakfast is delicious and the services are warm and excellent. For dinner you could walk down (15 mins)to the culture university,there are several good restaurants nearby. The only bad is that air conditioner in the room (room 209) has no function at all. Even in the winter, I feel like I can't breath and I am so afraid of insects that I can't open the window of my room. I hope Landis hotel could improve this serious problem then I would like to come again.

Small but good location
Reviewed By MelbPkThe location of the guesthouse is pretty good, 5mins walk to Shilin night market (which is a fairly large market and busy). The room however is a bit small. There are 3 in our group and with 3 beds, it basically fill most of the room leaving a walkway to get around which is very different to the photo. Bathroom is small and has a washing machine which is handy but not too sure if it is safe. We did end up using the washing machine though.
