Sete Hotels | Places to Stay in Sete

August 26, 2022 Marissa Gamble

Surrounded by golden sands, oyster-filled lagoons, and ancient salt flats, the Mediterranean port town of Sete offers a tranquil change of pace from the busy resorts of the Languedoc. Effortlessly photogenic, the picturesque canals are lined with fishing boats, traditional markets, and seafood restaurants.

Not totally living up to the price of our double room.

Really big room for two, quite nice. The two additional bunks were not occupied. Location in Sète is perfect. The things that did not fit with the price of 140 €: Breakfast where the croissants and baguettes are safeguarded by the staff. You get a tray with one croissant. In the bread basket, there is maximum the amount of 1 baguette at a time. Nothing cooked (like eggs, bacon). The air conditioning is special: you cannot set it below 26 °, the thing is centrally controlled. I switched it on to have a good sleep, but it switched off after half an hour or so. Staff said you can set it for longer, but I did not see how. With a window to the street, an open window at night is not a good option. I saw other people had to bring their bedlinen down to the reception. We did not have to.

Hotel very nice but the restaurant does not deserve Michelin status!

Reviewed By jacquelinecG5027RO

We ate in the Restaurant and order the slow roasted pig cheeks. These are normally very delicious when cooked like this but I could not even cut them with a knife they were so tough! The accompanying potato was burnt to a cinder. While they took the food away and didn't charge for it, its not what you would expect from this calibre of restaurant. On several tables including ours the finished starter plates were left on the table for about 15 minutes with the waiters just walking past and ignoring what was going on. The couple next to us had their main course arrive and he asked for some salt. The salt arrived when his wife was halfway through her meal. His food must have been cold!!!!! This restaurant does not deserve Michelin status!!!!!

One Of The Best Budget Hotels

Julie, in reception, greeted us and made us feel at home. The hotel is perfectly situated to view all the sights of Sete. The rooms are quite spacious and very clean. Rooms at the back are very quiet and overlook the car park (60 plus cars) and further away, the port freight area. Breakfast was in a bright spacious area, also with outside seating. There was a choice of cereals, bread, croissants, cake, pan au chocolat. Drinks were provided by machines, coffee, hot chocolate, fresh orange and apple juices etc. This is the 4th time we have stayed here and it never disappoints!

Terrible hotel!

Reviewed By arazsukanov

I'll start with the fact that this hotel just passed a 4 star hotel. Upon entering the lobby, you will see debris from World War II. The whole ceiling is perforated and panels are missing. The furniture is worn and torn. Maybe they're from a garage sale. At the reception we were greeted by a kind lady who was the only one who spoke English. When we were accommodated in the room, we were greeted by a strange smell of feces from the toilet. The room was terribly cold, accompanied by torn sheets stained. There was mold almost everywhere in the room, including the entire air conditioner. The walls were dirty and scratched. I don't even like talking about the bathroom and toilet. There was mold everywhere again, the floor was not cleared. We left the hotel without taking advantage of the paid night. The reception apologized and promised to return the full amount for the room, which was about 80 euros. Unfortunately, without giving us any reasonable answer, our amount was not refunded at all. We wish the hotel with this 80 euros to at least renovate some of its drilled parts and clean most of the rooms, because during a covid pandemic, it is unacceptable for the rooms to be in this disgusting and disgusting state. We were extremely disappointed with the attitude of this "4 star hotel". This is the first time we have received such disgusting treatment from Booking and the hotel in question.

Cheap hotel just off the city centre, bed comfortable and clean, basic bathroom (a bit tight) but ok. Quiet street (parking on if you are lucky) but free parking over the road. Breakfast a little disappointing could do with more choice of cereal and fruit. All in all I would visit again if I went to Sete ( unlikely though).

BADLY MANAGED

Reviewed By masdehospitalet

they advertise that they have a restaurant and bar. They have meals in pre packed boxes. No bar. They have two staff on at reception sitting doing nothing, if it was my hotel I would use one to serve drinks...... I asked for a restaurant within walking distance, the receptionist gave me two choices she said they were 2-5 minutes away. I have a broken leg and walked with a stick, they were both closed and I ended up walking for 20 minutes before I found a tapas bar to eat. The hotel is badly managed and if they are not prepared to have the facilities open they should charge less. the receptionist could have called the restaurant to double check for me, but that would have been to much trouble .

Work trip and trainning

I've stayed in Le Lazaret for 2 weeks during a work trip. I was doing a training related to my work. I liked it very much. It was good for staying. There are good confortable spaced bedrooms. There are good rooms for meetings. It is next to the beach and there is an direct acess to this. The breakfast is good... the lunch and dinner, despite the difference between it and Brazil's culinary, is ok. I recommend it.
