Great service, always smile, staff can recommend food and wine. Nice environment. Portions are big enough. Food is little bit expensive for location. We are really proud of our restaurant and try to do everything for our guests satisfaction. Price are maybe little higher but if you consider quality level of the food that we are cooking from, I think it is acceptable.

We've picked this place for a quick lunch after visiting the castle. The restaurant is conveniently located just off the main road. Due to my food allergies the only thing I could get was fried cheese - which is fine, I like this Czeck specialty. But the price was a bit odd: 150CZK (usually you get this type of food for around 70-90CZK). Since I was hungry, I ordered it. The food arrived really quickly. My fried cheese, was literally of the size of a small toast with the inside collapsed, it literally looked like someone had sucked the cheese out. Of course, it was served on an enormous plate! The price for this portion was an obvious extortion. Two of my companions ordered goulash and the other one had gnocchi. Their food was ok, nothing fantastic. But when it came to paying the bill, we discovered that there is a 10% surcharge - a compulsory tip - added to the bill. Overall, the place is pricey and the service is not fantastic. The ladies got argumentative about the 10% tip, so we ended up paying it. It is expensive and the food is only ok.

Czechs drink Pivo (beer) more than anyone in the world. This thirst (excuse the pun) for the liquid gold has always given the world amazing beer. And the revival of the small brewery in Czech is blossoming.Cvikov beer is fantastic! Having enjoyed all of the beer on menu, I highly recommend their KlÃÄ 12° (literally "Key 12 percent ABV) - the name of a local mountain in the area´s folklore. The SviÄková is among the best I have tried (and I have tried quite a lot). The brewery was initially founding in 1560 and to this day makes AMAZING beer. So if you are ever in Northern Bohemia, you need to go here!

Near the Czech, Polish and German border and frequented by visitors from all three nations. One of the best restaurants in the region with very appealing prices.
...I am going to have to revise my original review. We've visited this restaurant about six times in the past year and a half and have had both misgivings and a very bad experience since our original review. Generally the food preparation and presentation has been good, albeit inconsistent. I almost always order their roasted pork ribs and each time the sauce slathered on top has been different. On one occasion they had a tainted taste to them but were not so bad that I felt the need to return them to the kitchen. We often order a side of green beans. Usually they are wonderfully fresh with bacon mixed in and a slight bacon fat glaze. Once they came dripping in something similar to soy sauce which made them far too salty to eat.We ordered an appetizer of onion rings that the menu describes as 75 grams. We were served three very small rings (probably 25 g) and felt duly cheated. Our last visit proved to be the most disappointing and may, in fact, be our last appearance at what was once our favorite restaurant in the area. We ordered a round of beer to start with our driver specifying a non-alcoholic choice. When the beer was served they were all the same, no non-alcoholic in sight. The waitress quickly made the change without question. One member of our party ordered a specialty salad and two were brought to the table. We sent one back but within five minutes, the waitress was back and slammed the second salad down on the table without comment and hurried away. We set it aside on another table where it stayed until we left. All of the entrees arrived as ordered except the tartar sauce ordered as a side never materialized and the waitress did not return to check on the table until it was time to settle the bill. Sure enough, we were presented a bill with the extra beer, salad and tartar sauce added in. When we tried to correct the mistake, all hell broke out with both the waitress and wait supervisor being very rude and hostile. Finally the bill was adjusted to our expectations but not without a great deal of grief. We'd like to think the problem was with a new, young, inexperienced waitress but when the lead waitress also became rude, we have to conclude the problem runs deeper. It's a shame, we truly held the restaurant in high regard; recommending it to friends and visiting it as often as we were in the area. We're debating whether it is worth another try... (add sad face here)
In Marenice (and around) definitely the best place to go. There is a small garden and tiny playground for kids outside. The menu is simple but the food is really nice. And the place is really stylish.
Visited the restaurant over the weekend which wasn't too busy at a time. Very good food, delicious soups especially. I was not fan of the service or the way currency was exchanged. We went out feeling we paid way too much, but anyway for a 2 course meal it's worth a visit.
