An amazing holiday at le Telemark Tignes le Lac

Reviewed By Jan C

We have just returned from a great family holiday in Tignes le Lac. We have stayed in CGH Residences over the years and always had positive experiences but this was our first time to Tignes and le Telemark and it did not disappoint. The residence is well situated in a quiet area but very near the town centre.Only cross a little road and we could ski down a path onto an easy piste leading to the lifts. Most convenient. Our room was on the 3rd floor with amazing views of the mountains, as I had requested. Apartments are spacious and nicely decorated with very comfortable beds ensuring a sound night's sleep. The leisure facilities are all first class and very welcome and enjoyable after a day on the slopes. We used the pool, hot tubs, sauna and steam every night. Everything was spotless and perfect for relaxing and soothing tired muscles. The air drying system for the ski boots was most effective resulting in comfortable dry boots each day. We cannot praise the staff enough. Everyone at le Telemark went out of their way to make our stay there so very special. They are an amazing ,helpful and friendly team and a special mention to Daniela for her help during the week. Bread and pastries can be ordered the night before and they were delivered to our door each morning. What a service! We would highly recommend this residence and the resort of Tignes and would love to return. Merci a vous A bientot!

The spell has been broken

Reviewed By TravelMoose9

We have stayed at MMV before, and have loved the concept. Always good locations, and good apartments. This time we decided to try Le Corbier. The ski resort was good for us a family of 4, but we would have liked more restaurants up on the slopes. The hotel is new and looks good. However we will never return. We could hear everything our upstairs neighbors was doing. This meant a lot of noise from 6.30- 23.30 everyday.as an example it meant that the whole family had to sleep with earplugs. The noise seriously tainted our vacation negatively. Staff at the hotel was nice, especially the guy with the long blond hair, but in the end there is nothing they can be do.

Great hotel!

Very nice people, nice restaurant. Nothing to complain about. If you come without a car, there is no shop easy walking distance apart from a tabac and cheese shop opposite. The taxi from chambery is 70 euros each way roughly. The bus for the piste is about 20 minutes from hotel to ski station, but it's a nice scenic journey. The last bus from the ski station is at 5.30 pm, just after the last kid's ski lessons in the evening. Very nice place.

Friendly staff and good location!

Reviewed By TravelGirl1801

We really enjoyed our week at the MMV Melezes. We had a great room with a small balcony on the 7th floor over-looking the slopes. The distance to the pistes was as good as it can be really unless you go for ski in ski out, just a short walk and you’re on the nursery slopes and can ski to the lifts. The only slight drawback is it was noisy most nights in the early hours of the morning with people leaving (I think) the night club across the road. There’s nothing the hotel can do about that and to be honest it didn’t bother us hugely, it was just enthusiastic apres-skiers noisily chatting as they went home and didn’t last too long. The food was decent - enough to fuel us every day at breakfast and refuel in the evenings and having wine, beer and soft drinks included was a bonus. We also enjoyed using the hot tubs and sauna down at the MMV Altitude. You have to book for this but the plus side is it manages the numbers in there so it is genuinely a chilled out way to end the day before dinner. We went four times! The biggest plus of the hotel though is the staff, without exception they were friendly, helpful and cheerful. They made us feel really welcome. A particular thank you to the lovely gentleman from the restaurant (annoyed with myself for not getting his name but he was young, curly light brown hair in a pony tail and glasses!) who went out of his way to show us how to get to MMV Altitude when we went for our first visit to the spa. Thanks to all the staff for a great week. Ace to be back skiing!

Excellent location but not really ski in ski out!

Reviewed By kennokent

We rented one of the ‘trendy’ apartments and were allocated an apartment in Chalet Natalia. The location is reasonable for access to the slopes but cannot really be described as ski in/ski out, it’s more ski out but even that is a stretch of the description; to ski out you need to take a short walk up the road and then join a ‘blue’ that allows you to ski down to one of the main runs leading to the ski area. We could not find a ‘ski in’ route except for using the same blue run and walking up it back to the road. When we stayed mid March there was virtually no snow on this ‘run’. I’ve included a picture that shows it. Our apartment did not look like it had been cleaned prior to our arrival and the floor and table/chairs were also very dusty. The lighting in all the rooms is also a bit dismal and could do with more ambient lighting. Bathrooms were well lit and the showers were excellent. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. Staff at reception were very friendly and extremely helpful. Overall we would stay here again and would recommend it but you just need to be aware of the ‘ski in/ski out description. Local Sherpa supermarket 5 mins down the road and a couple of local restaurants within walking distance.

Hotel de la Gare

One nights stay over.

Reviewed By flossy1155

We picked this hotel whilst traveling to Ancona to catch the ferry to Greece. We were going to go over the Col de Cenis from Modane and down into Susa Staying in Piacenza and Rimini on our way to Ancona. When booking it on Hotels. com, it described the room as having an onsuite well it's a good job we had only booked for the night. We arrived about 3pm and we're met by a very smartly dressed lady we introduced ourselves me and my wife and were given our room key we went up to the room which was on the front of the hotel it was a bit dark but looked clean so we put our bags on the floor and proceeded to look round when I saw what they described as an onsuite. Next to the bed was a big Plastic Box which turned out to be the shower next to that was a curtain which had a toilet behind it and at the side of that was a sink. When we had used the shower we got dressed and went a walk round Modane to find somewhere to eat. On our return after finding the main light switch we saw that the room had black mould on the ceiling around the window quite a big patch of it and the walls seemed grubby next morning when we got up there was water on the floor so I had to put one of the towels on it on further inspection it looked like the drain pipe from the sink was leaking water into the room either from the shower or sink. We packed our things went for breakfast hoping that was going to be better. There were a few croissants which were the smallest we had ever seen .would we stay again no.
