Reviewed By Annika5294I had the pleasure of staying at Augusta 1 for 9 nights and it was like a home away from home to me. Firstly the reception team who greeted me - Jacqueline, Miguel and Alba - were very friendly and helped with room/special requests. Everyday I had a great breakfast from the extensive choice of hot/cold buffet with much of the produce grown and made on site. Having a juicer was amazing too! Dinner at Potus restaurant was equally good, the food was simple yet delicious , fresh and often with a Galician (local) twist - I received fantastic service from Gustavo, Vanessa, Alex, Fran, Ernesto and Artem. The Spa was my key reason for visiting and I had expert treatments such as massage , facials with the utmost professional service from Lucia, Cris P, Javier, Kilani and Monica. I recommend however that there is at least a high level description / list in English of the spa treatments or at least a QR code (I think this is in the works) Also a timer in the flotarium would be good as I had to rely on someone reminding me to finish up. Overall the resort lived up to expectation, it has a homely yet eclectic boutique feel, I suggest to the team to consider more English tv channels as the only one is BBC news. Thank you for a great stay and I will definitely be back again!

Near the beach where we can walk and have sunshine. The village is very nice where you can eat , buy beautiful things and pay a visit to Santiago de Compostela.

Great hotel to explore this area of Galicia

We particularly liked being able to wander down to the beach front from the hotel. The staff have been great throughout. A thoroughly enjoyable stay!

The breakfast is good with fresh fruit and the food in the restaurant was very tasty and the servers very friendly. Very good value for money.

Reviewed By Vivien GAlthough the beach is 400yards from the hotel,I enjoyed the peace of this architecturally pleasing hotel.The staff are discreetly helpful,it is immaculately clean,and I enjoyed the pieces of art throughout. The decor is excellent. The food was delicious and prettily served.The only 'fault' was there was too much! I really enjoyed my stay.

Reviewed By Christian656Located just outside Portonovo - a 20 min walk - but walking distance from 3 FANTASTIC beaches you find this hotel, which is rated 2*....but is more like a good 3* hotel...nice pool area, refreshing design and fantastic breakfast!!! Much more than you expect when booking a 2* hotel. The hotel has been shined up from top to toe....with simple decoration and paint, the hotel stands as new. Only thing to mention is the rather small rooms - ask for room with terrace/balcony to at least leave the wet bath clothes outside for drying - other than the size the rooms are fine.

Good value, excellent location, a bit noisy
Reviewed By ceemeaGood points: - while not on the beach, it is less than 10 minutes (by car) of a very nice one, Pragueira; others like Lanzada are not far away - from here it is easy to visit all the other nearby points of interest without getting stuck in the traffic of Sanxenxo or Portonovo - heated indoor pool! quite rare in Galicia generally, even if you need to pay it's good to have the option - very good breakfast with wide variety of options (except for eggs - only boiled ones, not fried or scrambled or poached - strange) - rooms were ok size - labels itself as 3-star and that's what it is Bad point: - for me really only one, the noise. Partly not the hotel's fault, but the Spanish habit of staying very late (midnight and beyond, including small children) and assuming that everybody else is doing the same means hearing people coming and going, and TVs, and arguments with and between kids when we were trying to sleep; not-too-thick walls; nearby road; and a generator or something that was running until late at night. Note also that in common with most hotels in the region it has no air conditioning, which is usually ok but we had a heatwave!

Good location close to the beach
Reviewed By Nieves AVery good option to visit not only Portonovo but other villages like Sanxenxo, Pontevedra, El Grove and Isla de la Toja. Many beautiful beaches too. The hotel is spotless and you don't hear any noise at night.It is just 5 minute walk to the beach and good restaurants. You can leave your car close to the hotel in a free parking area. When I come back to Portonovo I'll choose Casa Alvarito without a a doubt.

Reviewed By eddiecreaghWe spent a couple of nights at Mardevela during shoulder season and we were not disappointed. The hotel is clean and functional, the staff are corteous and helpful and the rooms have a lovely view. Nothing fancy but it totally meets expectations for the price paid. Breakfast is very traditional Spanish with some nice touches like fresh orange juice and coffee made to order. Overall, excellent choice.

The apartments also have a flat screen TV.T.2 Apartments have two twin bedrooms, a kitchen-living room with an extra bed (0.80 M) and a sofa bed (bed also 0.80 M) and a full bathroom with hairdryer. The kitchen has a ceramic hob with two rings, a fridge and kitchenware. There is a microwave, a toaster, a coffee machine and a flat screen TV in all apartments. Relaxing stay
Reviewed By chloewIt's on a main road which you have to cross to get to the beach. I thought it was quite pricey but as it's high season and near the beach that's understandable. Can't really think of anything else! Located near an excellent beach and the gardens are well looked after. The pool wasn't heated but was great and my children loved it. Plenty of sunbeds and a small bar to get drinks and ice creams in the afternoon. There was a football/volley ball area and a games room. The beach is lovely and we hired a pedalo, as well as visiting the small beach bar a few times. This is a great place to stay with children. The food is good and the waiting staff are excellent! We walked into Portonovo which also had a nice beach and lots of places to eat.
