Santa Barbara Hotels | Places to Stay in Santa Barbara

Nestled between the shrub-covered slopes of the Santa Ynez Mountains and the clear blue shores of the Pacific Ocean, Santa Barbara is California at its best. Mission Santa Barbara is an example of 18th-century religious architecture, boasting beautiful grounds and a wonderfully detailed interior. Work up an appetite with a walk through Shoreline Park, then dine above the water on Stearns Wharf. Fig trees, parks, waterfalls, and botanical gardens round out Santa Barbara’s natural beauty.

Booked through best western website a pool side room but when I got there reception said only pool view room was available. For how much I paid expect to get the room we paid for...otherwise stay was decent.

A fantastic time!

We received a text that morning explaining their early check in policy (book directly through them and early check in is free). They needed to know about what time we would be arriving. We got there a bit after 1:00 pm and Peter the concierge was there to warmly welcome us. While we waited for the room to be finished, we were invited to relax on the patio and help ourselves to a latte. It was a beautiful day and the espresso was delicious (they have their own machine). Arrived in the room ,with Peter assisting us with our luggage, which was spotlessly clean and roomy. Well appointed: Comfortable king bed Luxury linens Flat screen tv Free Wi-Fi Mini fridge and microwave Large sunken tub with jets Large two head shower….bathroom was immaculate plus had large dispensers for soap, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion both next to the sink and in the shower. Peaceful outside balcony with chairs and table Complementary water flasks to keep with filtered water downstairs Had wine glasses and flutes as well as beer glasses available in the room Kerig coffee machine in room Fireplace Large desk Hairdryer The premises is decorated in the traditional Spanish style throughout, with beautiful tile work throughout. Breakfast ( served from 7:30 to 10:00 am)was delicious and we had the choice of getting breakfast delivered to our room, we just needed to let the front desk know the night before. We decided to utilize the breakfast room and our food was served to us at our table. We also had a choice of sitting indoors or out with heaters on the patio. Another perk is that we had full housekeeping services. It’s been so long since I have experienced my bed being made, fresh towels and tidied up. It was quite luxurious. There are complementary beach cruisers available, and a separate sitting area with two fire pits. Overall, the Eagle Inn was utterly delightful and the only cons we could come up with was one, there is no ice machine (however, the staff was only too happy to conjure up an ice bucket and fill it from the kitchen) and two, if stairs are an issue, just request a first floor room as there is no elevator (I will remember this next time myself). The staff is so friendly and accommodating. We will DEFINITELY be back!

We could not be happier with our choice of the Santa Barbara Inn for our wedding guests' stay and the Rehearsal Dinner for our son's wedding in Santa Barbara. The service was excellent, and our guests much appreciated the quality of accommodation. Rooms are very tastefully furnished, with classy furniture. Our stay was very comfortable, with exceptional views and an easy walk across the beach. We are highly delighted with the hard work of Amanda Haywood, the sales manager, who coordinated all the reservations and ensured there would be no surprises. We also were thrilled about choosing the Montecito Room, a superb venue for the Rehearsal Dinner, and Convivo for catering. The Banquet Manager, Kristina Karaffa, did a thorough job assuring that we had a memorable evening.

Lovely, modern and family friendly Inn - very close to the Beach and Downtown

Reviewed By Essegaernsche

We have had a lovely stay at the Avania Inn, rooms are very spacious, quiet and lovely renovated. We had no problems with parking. The Inn itself is perfectly located very close to the beach and not too far from downtown. The 7eleven next to it is a plus if one needs water etc. We did not need our car once. We stayed for two nights with our 9 month old daughter and even got offered a baby crib without even asking. Breakfast really is more than we could have asked for: the room itself is very pleasant, besides other goodies it includes plenty of fruit and berries, waffles, danish and scones, porridge, a variety of breads as well as sausage, eggs and salsa. Staff was always really friendly and helpful - especially Samantha was so lovely and caring and made sure we had a pleasant stay. Thank you very much, we would always stay here again!

Beautiful house but some very disappointing aspects

Reviewed By Caroline G

We stayed in this hotel on our 20th wedding anniversary trip driving the Pacific Coast Highway. The house is beautiful and the gardens amazing. The cheese and wine evening was delightful. The disappointing aspects were that the shower was almost impossible to use. It was a shower over a bath A notice asked you to draw the curtain around the bath before turning on the shower as the old floorboards could get damaged. This meant you got freezing cold water on you head and there was absolutely nowhere to put shower gel / shampoo etc. The house is old 1874 but I have lived in houses 100 years older and it is possible to update a bathroom! We paid $10 to have our breakfast delivered to our balcony on the first morning. It was stone cold. The toast came with no butter or jam and was very disappointing. The second day we ate in the breakfast room to avoid the same thing happening. As breakfast was included we were astonished to be presented with an invoice to add a gratuity! We got a turn down service on night one but they left all the towels on the floor and we had to ask for more. The full bin wasn’t emptied. We just got a chocolate left on our pillow. The second night there wasn’t a turn down service!! All in all at £350 per night I was disappointed and will avoid in future
