Great receptionist!
Reviewed By Explore14572750950Our experience at the Quality Inn at San Simeon for two nights was very good. The receptionist and caretaker, Edward, was extremely attentive and helpful. He greeted us without fail every time we passed through the lobby, and always had a kind word for our two little dogs. The room was clean and the complete breakfast, although standard for a hotel, was fine. They even had biscuits and gravy, which we enjoyed. There were only two things that we didn’t like: there was no elevator for the second floor, and the rooms were only cleaned every third day. We would return, but with old dogs, I would ask for a room on the first floor. We did have an ocean view, and although we were across the highway, we could still hear the waves!

Reviewed By rancon0818The room was clean. Pillows were lack luster, bed so-so, a very average low end room. The windows were new and opened to let a cool breeze in through night. The restaurant had decent food with not so good service.

What a lucky find!
Reviewed By Maureen FWe stayed here while driving from San Francisco down the coast towards Los Angeles & found it almost by accident as it was time to stop driving for the day. The location is superb - right on the beach to watch magnificent sunsets with lovely outdoor areas with seating, games & fire pits. Amy who checked us in was so lovely & helpful & even called to see if we had settled in ok. We were so taken with the place we stayed an extra night. The room was fine & the credit towards breakfast was most welcome. The on-site Cavalier restaurant is good. They were very busy & somewhat understaffed on our second night but warned us there might be a wait for food & couldn't apologise enough. I would recommend the Sands especially at the price they charge & every staff member we met was pleasant & helpful.

Coast Riders Inn has been completely renovated. Each room has been freshly painted, and either has new carpeting or waterproof flooring. We feature AT&T high-speed Internet, 50" 4k TVs with built in ROKU player in every room. Each room has a mini-fridge with freezer, 4-cup coffee maker, and micro wave, all in matching retro styled colors. We think you will love our new bedding. Each room has 14" memory foam mattresses on platform frames with wooden slats for comfort. All chairs, sofas, and other room features are new, and the entire property is now using LED lighting and fixtures. Many of our rooms are being converted to large walk-in showers and all rooms have new hair dryers. One other comfort upgrade has been to install new remote controlled A/C-Heater units into every room. These are very quiet and will either heat the room or cool it very quickly. What a nice stay!
Reviewed By SouthbayJThe Husband and Wife owners are so much fun. The rooms have been updated over the past 2 years of Covid and Landslides in the Big Sur Area. The rooms are outfitted with nem memory foam mattresses and new paint. There is a 54" television with a spacious King Bed in our room. There is a two-story old Motel Style building with an indoor pool and hot tub. Beautiful woodwork on the vaulted ceiling over the pool. But I have to reiterate that the staff is exceptional and fun.

We arrived quite late in the evening but it was easy to find and the reception staff were very attentive. Despite how late it was the place was very rowdy! Obviously some type of party/get together going on. Our room was pretty dated but clean. 2 queen beds and most of the essentials you need for a nights stay. Pros. Clean, Tidy, Huge Car Park, Staff. Negatives.... there are a few. Unfortunately this place is so dated! Some repairs you'd like to see sorted even if they dont clean up the decor. It was so noisy, even when in the room. You can hear all the other rooms and the hallway was busy all night long!! Because they allow pets we heard a dog almost all evening. Be aware that if there are pets staying here then its likely that they are on their own for periods at a time. Sleep was difficult due to the noise till about 2am. Come 7am it started again!! All in all with different guests this would have been a good stop over. However, for us we were happy with just the one night.

Nice quiet weekend
Reviewed By khill727036A nice quiet room. A few amenities were lacking the first night (no soap or complimentary shampoos/body wash) And the internet wasn’t great, would cut out frequently. But the room was nice. Very close to the beach with a nice view of the coast.
