Was visiting San Diego with work and a local colleague suggested we had dinner at Himitsu in La Jolla. What an amazing place. Absolutely delicious sushi, knowledgeable and friendly staff and a must-visit location for anyone who loves sushi. I can't wait to visit again.

Flavors were clean.. it was a bit run down and homey but the prices were reasonable and 20%off from 4-8 happy hour. It was much better than sushi ota which i had a few nights earlier and service was much more polite and less pretentious. It was a great meal after the day at the beach.

Came across this place whilst passing through la Jolla. Menu was nice and easy to navigate - a good but not overwhelming selection. We went for the set lunch deal which was 6 nigiri, 8 Cali rolls and miso soup for 22 dollars - all super fresh and delicious; great value. The teriyaki bowls (chicken and beef) were also great - packed with veg so felt really healthy. Staff were friendly and service speedy. Would recommend.

Up a couple of flights of stairs on the beach side of Girard. We dined on the patio. Attentive service. Tasty sushi. They didn't mind altering dishes for vegetarian (tofu for chicken). No-nonsense seaweed salad and excellent spicy cucumber salad. The curries at the next table looked good too. Reasonable prices. Very casual.
