Spectacular views but needs attention in some areas
Reviewed By Maria Nuria RThis small complex tries hard. Staff is welcoming and the appartments are clean and have everything you need. Nice bedding and lovely towels and dressing gowns for the adults. Breakfast is a great deal and varied. The apartment is too small for 4 people really. We had two apartments. We did not want the children to sleep in the only living space available. The sofas are the extra beds. The views are amazing and Sallent de Gallego is a nice little authentic village close to lots of activities in other villages which lack appeal like Formigal or Panticosa. The only criticism is that the appartment is really tiny for 4 people, and too hot to sleep under the roof. Our appartment on 3rd floor had air conditioning, but it was still unbearable in the top mezzanine level under the roof. The air conditioning did not cool that area. The other appartment, on the first floor had not air conditioning at all, neither provided a fan. The hot weather is something they cannot control, I know, but the main disappointment was the spa, pool area. It was too small and the water in the pool was very dirty, with floating black bits, hair, etc on it. Problems with the filters?

Reviewed By Ferran CThe main concern I have is that the rooms are quite small. The service is correct and spa and gym are quite good. The restaurant hotel is regular serving some fancy food but not too impresive. Some rooms have amazing views of the stations others not. Hope you get lucky!

My Gucci belt disappeared from our room day 3 of the stay. This is not a 4 star hotel. Don’t stay here.

Reviewed By VenivediscripsiGoods -Very easy booking by directly calling them and getting a sweat deal compared to prices found on internet. -Underground parking for 1€ the night -nice terrace for drinks Bads you have to pay 3€ something per persons for a swimming hat to access the indoor pool or the pool lady will yell at you. It is not for the 3€, it is for the "free access to pool included in room price". the heated pool was almost the same temperature as the outdoor non heated pool. we ordered cocktails at the bar and went to the terrace. the waiter came 10min later saying in Spanish, "oh yeah i didnt have your drinks so i experimented something else", here you are and its 2x12€ the half-board dinner food at the restaurant is a 3 course meal with 2 dishes to choose from. all dishes (and plates) were cold so we asked the main dish to be warmed up, to be served the same cold thing after... and still cold plate. The wine selection was way below average for a 4* hotel. overall it was really really average and weirdly empty during the off season of september.

Good place to stay
Reviewed By Bincor SWe booked this last minute as we were hiking through Sallent. The room was very attractive and comfortable. The couple running it were very helpful. When we asked for oil and vinegar to prepare our own food, the happily provided all we needed, and a few things more to taste. The kitchen worked well. They have a restaurant which unfortunately was closed that day. Talking to the couple running the hotel, it sounds like the restaurant really makes an effort for fresh and innovative food. They have their own garden and local sources of meat. I wish we could have eaten there. The wifi worked well.

Incredible warm, confortable and charm place
Reviewed By Savvy_Traveler_658Very nice house, we have stayed this weekend in this lovely house. I was recommended by some friends of mine, at it is fantastic. It is a “Must” in the Pyrenees, the rooms are incredible clean and warm, the house is very nicely decorated. superb, each one has its own charm. Difficult to choose. Elisabeth amazing in every detail. I believe is a perfect place for a romantic week end or for team building experience of a small young company as it has nice common living room and shared kitchen if you need an area to brainstorming and planning. I strongly recommend the Casa Rural Valle de Tena.

We have standard rooms with balconies, adapted, duplex, Interconnecting with the possibility of including extra beds or cots. We also have connecting rooms, some with greater capacity for families. Hotel with terrible stuff and run by scammers, stay away!!!!!!

We went for a ski trip, but on 1st of April we didnt expect 30cm of fresh snow and we couldn't make to the hotel (uploading photos of how bad it was) as didnt have the snow chains and everything was already closed, so we called the hotel, if they can send car for us, sure huge 4 star hotel like this should be able to help us right? no, no help. So we were forced to stay in a city 20km away and I called the hotel and asked them if they can cancel at least 1 night for 1 room as we had two rooms available, since they are not able to send any transportation for us, they said they can't make decision now, but manager will check it in the morning. We got there next day and were told reservation was cancelled and they made new one only for 1 night. When I went to pay next day I was a bit shocked as I was told something totally different and was forced to pay for both rooms for both nights (btw hotel wasn't even close to be fully booked), I spoke to a manager and she was just rude, didn't have single understanding and called me a liar when I told her and my friend later showed check in card where it clearly says 1 night. Oh btw they advertise SPA on their website, but its 25 Euros for 55 minutes, just for 1 pool and some jacuzzi, never ever I saw something like this in 4 star hotel. It a hotel which is run by scammers, they will try to rip you off for every penny you have, starts with that rude manager which should be fired for this behaviour, but I guess this hotel doesn't care at all, never I experience this kind of service in my life and I do travel a lot. For sure will never returned to this hotel, its the worst hotel in Formigal and everyone should stay away from this place, let them go under.

Perfect hotel - even better manager
Reviewed By Mateo CI am following the GR11 trek and I arrived to the Hotel Valle de Izas, in Sallent, after a long and extenuating day in the mountains. The moment I did it I knew I wanted to stay more than the one night I originally intended. The hotel is cosy, brand-new and modern - the perfect place to relax and have some rest. It is also literally in the heart of the town. In terms of value for money, it's great too - 50 euros for a nice double room (single occupancy). However, the best about the hotel is Angel, the manager. Three small examples: he gave me a new room for a few hours so I could sleep a quiet "siesta" as there was some noise in mine because some work outside; he refused to charge me anything for the breakfast my second day, which was a nice detail; and he did his best to get information about the state of the trails and mountains passes I had to go through the following days - he even called friends to check them out so I could have as much info as possible... Honestly speaking, the best service I have seen for a while... Hats off to Angel and to the Hotel Valle de Izas

Nice hotel, comfy rooms and very helpful staff
Reviewed By Stephanie SWe stayed here for a week in December. The room we had was a good size, clean and with quite a large bathroom. Staff at the hotel were also really helpful and friendly. We opted for the dinner, bed and breakfast option. There was plenty of choice for us at breakfast, but we didn't have any of the hot food. It would have been nice to have an omlette/fried egg station. The evening meal was a little fancy for our tastes, and we opted to have a burger and.chips in the bar one evening, for a change. They did seem to hurry us through a bit in the restaurant, and there was no offer of.coffee after the meal. Wine was really cheap!! The only negative point I could make was that we stayed in the bar one eve for a drink, and it was freezing cold! It was the middle of December and none of the radiators were on!! We would stay here again, but might just take the b&b option and eat in town sometimes.

A beautiful hotel inside and out.
Reviewed By lizs84This is a small hotel in a lovely old building. Inside there are antiques and art works which engaged our interest for the whole week! Marie Jose the host was very engaging and helpful and we were very well looked after. My room was small but perfectly equipped and with a view of the mountains. There is a cosy sitting area and bar with a log burner. Overall this was a wonderful base for winter walking and snowshoeing in the Pyrenees.
