Place looked new and very clean.
Reviewed By SCOTT EI was on third floor overlooking some building living complex. This room had roll down drapes, a shear and blocking. Everything looked new and clean. Bathroom was beautifully done. It had a refrigerator and microwave. Room very nice in appearance. We had walking noise coming from above but it was muffled. More the guest than a hotel problem. The bed was a little soft and we rolled into each other but my back felt fine in the morning. TV selection was a little limited. The HVAC unit was very noisy, it only had high fan speed unlike others that have had two or three settings. Almost made you sweat instead of letting it run. In the morning the breakfast was very nice and well stocked.

The great area of Rice Lake provided plenty of activities and we loved the hot tub at the hotel and relaxing on the patio! The suites are awesome! Very spacious rooms with 1 -1/2 baths allow for meetings while keeping the sleeping area separate and private.

Great winter getaway
Reviewed By kittybertWe went for a winter getaway. The lodge was very inviting, sort of old school up north. The view was awesome. The room was warm and clean with updated baths and fixtures. The grounds were well plowed and the walkways were clear of ice and snow. Facility and staff were excellent. Hint- for extra savings, place your reservation on their website.

Reviewed By jaymdostalTear down and start over. Maybe try an insurance fire. There was an awful smell, the fan didn’t work, a dog was barking and the beds were awful. There was caution tape and one end of the building. We didn’t even stay the second night. We got a tent and stayed at the race track. Yea

Reviewed By Kevbo48Very clean and nice hotel. The pool was a nice size and had plenty of room to swim. Very close to numerous restaurants. It has a free breakfast as well. The room was comfortable and spacious. The outside of the hotel is unique compared to other hotels in the area.

I wouldn’t let my worst enemy stay here
Reviewed By TannerBannanerWe ended up having to stay overnight in Rice Lake unexpectedly and since there was a hockey tournament in town, we had a hard time finding a hotel with any rooms left. The only place that had rooms left was the econolodge. And now I know why… First off, there was a wedding reception at the hotel so we didn’t get to stay in the actual hotel. Instead they have a strip of old MOTEL rooms across the parking lot and that’s where we were put. You are greeting to your room with a cigarette can next to the door which hasn’t been emptied in months judging by the overflowing cigarette butts. Walking into your room was like walking into an episode of “That 70’s Show.” Nothing has been updated since then, including the beds and bedding. We’ll start with the bathroom. The tub and toilet is located in a room by itself. Actually, it’s about the size of a closet. You had to straddle the toilet to close the door. There is mold on the ceiling and years worth of soap scum and dirt on the bottom of the tub. It was one of those “special” showers, where you felt dirtier after you got out. The one single light on the wall was furry. Have you ever seen something so covered in dust and cobwebs that it looks furry? Next, the beds. It was like sleeping on a slab of concrete and the pillows were about as thick as a magazine. I mean, are pillows that expensive that you can’t replace them now and then? Even rolled in half, they weren’t adequate enough to sleep on. It should take about 4 trips to the chiropractor to get the kink out of my neck… We have a 12 year old son who was excited to use the pool. So since we were put across the parking lot, we had to carry our suits to the swim area and change in the bathrooms. (You can’t really run across the parking lot in a swimsuit in the middle of February). The bathrooms at the pool were disgusting. Not a single hook on the wall. There were holes were I’m assuming they used to be? There was a white, curd like substance in the sink and mysterious brown stuff. If I don’t get some kind of foot fungus from that bathroom, it’ll be a miracle. The pool was freezing cold, so I looked forward to the hot tub. The only problem was there were six overweight guys sitting in it, drinking beer the whole time we were there. Not once, did any of them get out to use the bathroom. They ended up leaving right before we did so I went to get in. I mean, pee is sterile, right? The 16 inches of foam sitting on top of the water turned me away though. I really think I would of had a better night if I had just slept in my vehicle? Never will I stay at this place again!
