The location is spectacular (on the beach) and ideal for a night or two before catching gthe ferry home to the UK. The rooms are well appointed and clean, some with wonderful beach/cove views. The restaurant and bar are excellent and lounges really comfortable. It's not Parador class, far more friendly, cosy and relaxing (and cheaper!) And the location! Wow!

A true gem
Reviewed By Malc HWe have just completed an eight day stay here at Camping Colombres. The site is terraced and pitches have both shade or no shade. There are ample electricity and water points together with BBQ's and the facilities are excellent, spotlessly clean with ample hot water and other necessities provided. Also washing up and clothes washing sinks with hot water. There is also a laundry room with machines. There is a bar providing snacks and meals, small super market with fresh bread. There is also a nice outdoor pool all set in natural surroundings with lovely mountain views. At La Franca a couple of miles to the west there is an attractive beach with plenty of parking. Well recommended.

A charming hotel in Asturias, which belongs to Club Mansions Quality Asturian that retains the splendor of his time in his goal of mahogany, the magnificent staircase and frescoed ceilings. And that comes from ancient covenant with the good taste that highlights the elegance of the house. The personalized and family remains paramount to reach the customer feel at home.It has facilities for events such as weddings, business meetings and seminars.

Reviewed By Lagataloca97We arrive to the restaurant; which is also a hotel, around 3:30PM and we had to wait about 20' to be seated and maybe other 5-10' to order our dishes. It was really busy because it was a long weekend in Spain and we did not reserve. We had a beer at the bar while we waited for our table. In Spain nobody rushes you to leave the table so although we waited, we did not complaint because it is all part of the experience. We went for the menu of the day; 15€, that included a rather large variety of dishes to choose from as starter, main course and dessert. Beside, and as part of the price, is included the wine; a whole bottle of it, and water. Yes, all that for 15€. I did chose as starter a type of corn flat bread with caramel coated onion and blue cheese; but the typical from the area, very tasty. They are called "Tortos" and let me add that I've never had them before and I sure will repeat because the mix of flavors it's a magical trip to the sense of taste. As main course grilled steak and Spanish(French fries), it was really good and well done. The meat is not from the supermarket and you can definitely taste that. The desert was a Spanish crème caramel anisette. You can really feel the aniseed in it. I just can tell you that any dish you choose from it won't disappoint you. Service is excellent, you can eat at the front patio, the bar area or the restaurant itself and you'll be enjoying not only the food but the nature, although is right by a main road, you still feel surrounded by green. A place I'll visit again and again! Summer lunch is on the list to do in Restaurant La Parra!

Comfortable riverside rural Hotel with Bar and Restaurant. Clean rooms, friendly staff
Reviewed By JulesOnTAWe stopped over here on the way back to Bilbao to fly home, a really nice tranquil hotel with good parking, very nice simple Restaurant and a Bar. The locals play a version of Basque bowls here in the evening, very laid back. Rooms are cosy and comfortable. Very helpful staff.

Good casa right on the Camino del Norte
Reviewed By AnikabellaI stayed here while walking the Camino de Norte. You check in at the bar and then the rooms are above the bar. It was a little outdated and simple - but it was clean and comfortable enough. For the price, it was well worth it. Note that while it’s on the Camino, there’s nothing else around... and they don’t serve food until 8pm. The food and drinks were decently priced. I would stay here again while on the Camino.

We have five apartments in the village of Noriega, created and designed to offer our guests an unforgettable experience. We have five apartments available with a maximum capacity of 25 people. Each one of the independent units has a 65 m2 floor plan with two bedrooms (one with a 180 cm double bed and one with two 90 cm single beds), bathroom, integrated living-dining room and kitchen, 40 m2 porch, private parking space and a shared common yard with pool, trampoline and sand box for our younger guests.Alcalaba del Viento is located in the parish of Noriega,in the Asturian municipality of Ribadedeva whose capital is Colombres. Ribadedeva is the westernmost municipality of Asturias and it shares a border with the autonomous community of Cantabria. We are situated between Llanes (15 min) and San Vicente de la Barquera (10 min).Ribadedeva is well known for its beaches, such as the impressive La Franca beach located just five minutes away by car. From the complex, you can reach more than 40 beaches in under 20 minutes.
Good base for coast and mountains
Reviewed By Robert BLet’s start with the positives. Excellent location for excursions east and west along the A8, the outstanding beach at LaFranca, trips into the hills and mountains. Reasonably spacious, at least for a family of four (six may get a bit of a squeeze). Friendly, helpful owner who can get you a discount off kayaking down the River Deva (even if she decided to go shopping during our arrival window). The pool is a nice touch, albeit at between 50cm and 135cm is more for small children (parents with toddlers may find this especially useful). Also note that the family and their friends use the pool too, and you may find yourself swimming in amongst a herd of teenagers. On the downside, inadequate parking: there’s barely room for cars for all the casas even before you factor in the bizarre decision to add an ankle-height flowerbed (virtually invisible in a wing mirror) and a streetlamp. Amazed that I avoided scraping the car turning it or (if, as was frequently the case, it was impossible to turn around) reversing down the blind drop of a drive. A couple of times casa occupiers had to negotiate with each other for cars to be moved. Nobody was ever unwittingly blocked in, but I can see it happening quite easily. Secondly, the casas are not well equipped. More decent caravan standard than c.£100 per night villa. Crockery and cutlery were okay, but two wine glasses? Our Brittany Ferry cell - sorry, cabin - had four times as many mirrors. The bedsheets didn’t fit the bed. If you want to do anything exotic like peel a vegetable or open a tin, bring your own tools. And for God’s sake don’t forget to bring your own pillows. Lastly, we were downstairs in the only two-storey casa (no.1). The sound-proofing from upstairs is simply inadequate. Whilst we didn’t have insomniac clog dancers above us, the Spanish lullabies (or was it storytime?) in the wee small hours may have worked on the baby, Senora, but it certainly didn’t work on us.

Inaugurado en 2002, el Hotel & Spa Don Silvio esta situado a orillas del Cantabrico, fundido en el marco incomparable de la Sierra del Cuera, en el pueblo de la Mata Vieja (Colombres-Ribadedeva. Para aquellos que no lo conozcan, nos gustaria destacar los aspectos que hacen de este hotel un lugar diferente. En primer lugar su calidez, armonia y tamano, es pequeno y grande a la vez. Pequeno porque cuenta con 17 habitaciones y grande por la amplitud de sus espacios, entre los que se encuentra un Spa con jacuzzi panoramico y, una espaciosa terraza, que al tiempo que se asoma a la magnifica Sierra del Cuera, arropa la piscina exterior protegiendola de los vientos del mar Cantabrico. Por otro lado, su peculiar ubicacion, en un espacio rural, aislado y privado, entre el mar y la montana, desde donde se pueden apreciar todos los matices que ofrece el entorno natural, que nos rodea, asi como escuchar los sonidos -y el propio silencio- de la naturaleza, haciendo del hotel un espacio de paz, especialmente enfocado al descanso y la relajacion de sus huespedes. Su situacion geografica es privilegiada, estamos en la frontera entre Asturias y Cantabria, desde donde nos podemos desplazar a lo mejor de las dos provincias. A 10 minutos de las playas de la Franca y San Vicente de la Barquera, a 20 minutos de la villa de Llanes y, a 30 de de Comillas y Santillana del Mar, a 25 minutos de las inigualables Cuevas de El Soplao y de Chufin y, solo por finalizar, a menos de 60 minutos de los imponentes macizos de los Picos de Europa, donde se emplazan la villa de Potes, Cabrales y el majestuoso santuario de la Virgen de Covadonga, venerada patrona de todos los corazones asturianos. Pero, si el visitante busca olvidarse del coche, debe saber que el hotel se encuentra apenas 500 metros del antiguo Camino del Norte de Santiago, lo que lo convierte en un fin de etapa cada vez mas elegido por numerosos peregrinos, que prefieren desviarse por nuestro camino, evitando el bullicio de la carretera nacional. Adeas, es un punto de partida para senderistas y cicloturistas aficionados a explorar las rutas mas escondidas del Oriente de Asturias (Sierra Plana, Monasterio de Tina, Cuevas del Pindal, nacimiento del rio Cabra, Valle Oscuro). No olvidamos a los amantes de la pesca fluvial, que pueden disfrutar, a menos de 10 minutos del hotel, del maravilloso rio salmonero Deva -Cares, asi como de otros de menor entidad pero no por ello de menor belleza, como el rio Cabra y el rio Puron. Por ultimo, el equipo humano que conforma el hotel se esfuerza por ofrecer cada dia al cliente el mejor servicio posible y atender sus peticiones con la eficacia maxima. Promovemos un turismo basado en la emociones y creemos que el primer paso para conseguirlo es trabajar con emocion. Les ESPERAMOS ...

Reviewed By fionas900We stayed here for 11 nights in August and were so sad to leave at the end! The staff at the hotel were so helpful and friendly, they really made us feel at home. The location is stunning, you can see mountains in one direction and the sea in the other. It made an excellent base for exploring the local area. The room was comfy and spacious. We would love to come again!

Traditionally styled clean, spacious double bedroom with sofa and armchair. Large, clean en suite with window, shower, basin, WC & bidet. Kettle available on request. Piano in lounge. Nice breakfast served at the table. Evening meals available at two locations within Noriega, the bar next door or half a km away. Ample level parking. Beautiful Hydrangeas in the pleasant grounds.
