Popped in while walking past and so glad we did. The house salad to start was amazing. Lovely chicken, seeds, lettuce, tomatoes with cheese through it. Very large and one of the best salads I've tasted. For main meal the entrecôte steak was cooked to perfection and so juicy. Sweet I got the brownie which came with ice cream. Once again all dishes were lovely. Would visit again.

We visited this lovely local restaurant 4 times over Christmas & New Year 2011/2012. We found it quite by accident one lunchtime as we were driving around. It's about 1 mile from the centre of Lorca, near Almenara Shopping Centre. It is a typically Spanish family run restaurant with a very good Menu Del Dia buffet lunch for 6.8 euros, which is exceptional value for money, good quality and delicious. It is frequented by locals, so you know it is going to be good. The restaurant is very traditional and 'Spanish' with a log fire burning in the corner. We didn't eat from the main menu, but I'm sure it will be excellent if the menu del dia is anything to go by.I've no idea if any of the staff speak English (I would be surprised if they do) as we used our poor Spanish to communicate, but as it's a lunchtime buffet, that wouldn't be a big issue as you can choose what you want to eat from a starter salad bar, a soup, at least 4 dishes for the main and then cake, fruit or ice cream for dessert. The restaurant is in it's own grounds with a large car park, large terrace with lots of tables and chairs and a seperate venue for weddings etc.The staff were all friendly and professional and we will certainely be going back there this summer.

7. Venta Cristobal

This hotel/restaurant/shop is five minutes away from our apartment in Spain so it is really our local. The village is tiny. In fact, all there is in the village is this hotel/restaurant/shop and a petrol station. Therefore, the restaurant also serves as the gathering place for locals to play dominos or watch football on the television. The food is basis but beautifully cooked and plentiful and since it is often impossible to finish the meal, they cheerfully give doggy bags (Para llevar = take away). We often come for tapas lunch and they have an enormous array of hot and cold tapas. We also come here at least once a week for evening meal. They specialise in barbecued meat and fish but also serve local stews, paella and other Spanish dishes. Their entrecote steaks cooked on the barbecue are fabulous - tender and succulent. As I like my steak rare, that is the norm in Spain so if you like yours well done, ask for "bien hecho" (well done). Even then, it may be just a bit over medium!! In Spain, they like their meat rare!!! The barbecued chicken is also a treat as is the Lubina (sea bass). Everything tends to come with friend potatoes and if you want vegetables, you need to ask for "verduras". What you will get is a huge portion of barbecued courgette, aubergine, onions, mushrooms and asparagus. For starters they do a lovely Murcian salad to share. We often have a small plate of Serrano ham and queso fresco, a soft unpasteurised Spanish goats cheese. Its a lovely combination. Ask for Alioli (garlic mayonnaise) to accompany the bread!!! Deserts are very Spansh, too. They do a crème caramel, which is called "flan", rice pudding, melon in Spring and summer and ice cream. At the end of the meal they serve a small shot glass of liqueur - either caramel vodka (fabulous) or the Spanish equivalent of Bailey's Irish Cream, accompanied by tiny pieces of chocolate covered ice cream. On your way out, visit the little shop which sells groceries as well as fresh bread, cheeses, hams and Spanish wine. This place is like home away from home for us and when we walk through they door they treat us like long lost relatives! The restaurant is very casual, there is a kiddies playroom and children often wander around the restaurant while their parents are eating

Having used this bar/restaurant for tapas on a previous trip to Lorca, we decided to eat here in the evening.1st course of a pate sharing platter was ordered. Was really enjoying it when halfway through, our mains arrived. The waiter insisted on serving and even tried taking away the remaining bits of the starter away, despite my obvious protest.Hubby's steak was one of the best he'd ever eaten and my monkfish & prawn dinner tasted lovely so it was a shame that the experience was spoilt by bad timing from the kitchen. We felt pressured to finish and leave. So, although I can say the food is very good, unfortunately, our experience was not so we would not eat here again when next in Lorca, hence the low score. Had that not have happened, I would have given it 'exellant'Hola, sentimos mucho lo ocurrido y por ello le pedimos disculpas y agradecemos el comentario para así poder mejorar, esperamos vuelva pronto y ver si mejora su opinión sobre nosotros, saludos

We came here twice, for an evening meal and for a little bite and drink at lunch time. The ambience is lively and friendly; the staff are helpful and translated everything and recommended things to us. The food was delicious; very fresh and tasty. We loved it and would highly recommend coming here if you are in Lorca. The entrecôte steak and the salad with tomatoes and avocado were highlights.

Well busy, great big comodor, well presented tables and very clean, a great start. We opted for the menu del dia but we noticed that most tables were taking the more adventurous menu options. The mdd offered only two options which is OK and the starters were very good. The second plate would have been more acceptable but for the chips on every plate being cold and soggy, inedible.Postre was very nice. We will try it again but not anytime soon.

targeted this restaurant based on Trip Advisor reviews and we were not disappointed. we included this on day trip to Lorca which is a beautiful town and once we had found it (walked past a couple of times) we were really impressed. really attentive staff and a tardis like building with a different theme to each dining room scattered on all floors. we chose to eat in the outside patio area on the third floor which was delightful - starters we had cheese bombs and croquettes which were delicious and mains we had sirloin steak, entrecote and shoulder of lamb - all of which were cooked to perfection. really pleasant dining experience and with drinks for three the bill came to 75 euros - well worth a visit.Muchas gracias por su comentario, esperamos verle pronto de nuevo por Lorca y contentos de que le haya gustado la ciudad queda usted invitado a un aperitivo en la próxima a cuenta de nuestro alcalde.
