Reviewed By HeidiKentonChose the Mountain Lodge room. Had a lovely stay! Room was very clean. Bed was quite comfortable. Appreciated having a fridge, toaster, and coffee maker. Had coffee on the porch each morning, enjoying the lovely grounds and birds. Easy walk to town on sidewalk, where there were several restaurants and a brewery. Frank made sure everything was to our liking. Would definitely stay again.

Reviewed By Marshall CThis was our first and not the last stay at the White Birch Inn. We were in town to shop at Antique Appliances, another great downtown Clayton business. The fit and finish of this Inn is the mark of tastefulness of the owner. Each room is a little different but the hospitality is consistent. The floors creak that seem to tell the history of this place, white birch bark throughout, our antique armoire had a shipping tag destination in France. The Inn is charming yet filled with history, missing from a modern hotel. The wine and cheese hour, the private bar, comfortable seating throughout, nightly turn down service, and a breakfast that exceeded any expectations are old world standards. The staff quickly becomes your friends and are always available. Explore Clayton, Rabun County and stay at the White Birch Inn.

Lake Rabun Hotel & Restaurant celebrates its 98th birthday in 2020. It's the last surviving mountain lodge on a lake in Georgia. Reviewed By caitlynned2022I don’t even know where to begin we arrived at this place after saving up literally for months considering we are 18years old stay started off nice we checked in and went to the near town and got some food the 2nd day was also ok we had horse back riding and zip lining it was fun .. Now when we came back to our hotel after 9 hours of being away only to find OUR DOOR COMPLETELY OPEN. house keeping left the door open so we go down to the front desk and the lady was just as suprise as us the next morning we woke up to our car BEING hit and someone just drove away so it was a hit and run and to top it all off their security cameras didn’t point that way the only thing they “could do “ is reheat our breakfast like gee thanks Next on my complaining the towels they put in our room had makeup on them and it WAS not mine also this place tends to lie and story changes every 5 seconds and they really acted like they didn’t care not one bit … we came here instead of our prom and I honestly wish we just stayed in Savannah only people that were nice here was prob the restaurant severs and Leslie acted like she actually cared even tho she told us the manger was in a “meeting “ but then Amanda told us she wasn’t going to be in until Monday honestly we ended up just giving up and all we got was a sorry after explaining all this stuff to them… We had high expectations the rooms were cute the bathrooms r very very tiny but at least the waterfalls were nice. Thanks.

Terrible customer service and poorly maintained hotel
Reviewed By CraftBeersThis 72 room two-story product has been three different brands in recent years: Holiday Inn Express, Gateway Inn & Suites, and now Quality Inn. The grounds are very poorly maintained. The two road signs from the prior brands are laying in the grass in the back. There are buckets, ladders and junk laying out for all to see. The team does not pick up the parking lot from the day before. I walked the property around 10:00 AM and saw bottles, garbage and construction debris. The interior is clean but very run down. The walls are filled with different paint patches that do not match. The doors and walls are scuffed up. The furniture has tears in the fabric. The toilet is permanently stained. The room is definitely cleaned, but cleaning does not fix permanent worn down damage. Our reservation was for late arrival. We called around 3:00 PM the day of our arrival to confirm our 1:00 AM arrival. The guest agent added a note to our reservation. To our surprise, the property closes at 10:00 PM and locks every door to the property with piece of paper instructing you to call this number. We did and woke up a very tired person. When the door was unlocked for us there was no smile, no polite welcome, and no interaction at all. We clearly interrupted his sleep. He had already completed the night audit and charged our credit card even though he acknowledged we had a note on the file as late arrival at 1:00. Check out the next morning was no better. The two employees working the desk and food buffet were not friendly. They shut the light off on us at straight up 10:00 to signal we needed to leave the food area. Changing brands is a red flag to me. The franchise owner has property improvement plans that are required by all brands. When you do not complete them you get removed or you leave yourself to avoid penalties. Being at a new brand you get another 1-2 reprieve before they start forcing PIP requirements.

Reviewed By ELKWthe room looks clean, the bath has tub, the fridge has a freezer compartment which is good, but we are 4 people, only has 3 sets of towels, and among them, only 1 big towel is ok, the other 2 are very thin and rough. the power of the shower is not strong enough, the wifi has no password which may be not vert safe? and the wifi signal is weak, can't see program using my tablet. The breakfast is very basic and has very limited choice, no milk, only apply juice, no yogurt. But as it is rather cheap, so can't expect too much. it's also located near to Tallulah Gorge state park.

Reviewed By sbutke487563Room was satisfactory. WiFi did not work. Hotel is in a great location with great restaurants nearby. There is lots to do in the area, but I did not get a chance to check it out as I was there to visit with family.

Upon check-in the lady at the front made sure to be clear my wife was to have no men coming in and out so much so my wife had to tell her she was there working and not a working girl and that she was just down right rude and disrespectful. We will not be back for any reason and do not recommend any establishment that acts like this toward its guest.

Terrible experince
Reviewed By KTR61585The room reeked of smoke. The lock on the window was broken. There were several bugs in the room. The blanket on the bed had holes. The sink did not drain properly. The water in the bathtub dripped. The toilet had a leak. The ceiling tile over the bathtub was dripping water. There were cigarette marks all over the bathtub. The baseboards were filthy. The walls are stained. The towels are thin and rough. The soap was tiny and thin. The toilet paper was thin and cheap. We could hear every single footstep on the second floor. The smoke alarm woke us up at 4:30 a.m. one morning, then stopped, then came back on around 8:00 and chirped for over an hour. I wrote the owner a letter and got no response. I will not stay there ever again.
