The food was fantastic and the beers were ice cold. Staff was very friendly and helpful as well. The owner Gail (Gailita) even gave us a ride back to our resort because our cart rental cancelled due to an emergency! Overall a great experience! The only thing I would change is the fact that we didnât find this place sooner!!

We read all of the great reviews and were excited to try it out last night....the waiter Rolex was unfriendly and unhelpful...he couldn't be bothered after taking the order, our drinks went unfilled and thankfully another young man David stepped in....soooo nice and he was helpful...so glad he came by to ask us if we needed anything. As far as the food, the avacado with lobster was great, but two of us had the fish of the day (Grouper) and it was dry and overcooked, the best thing on my plate was the refried beans...lol. Shrimp fajitas my husband had we're good...and our other friend had fish tacos that came out on a sizzling fajita plate so we're also overcooked and dry....we had to ask for extra sauces to be able to eat it....we did not stay for dessert and won't be back...we had read such good things but no Bueno â¹ï¸.

Lovely breakfast, lunch, dinner and special event restaurant overlooking the dolphins which are less than 15 feet away. Hippo has a great Taco Bar on our second patio with all the toppings you can imagine. Fresh daily fish and lobster sold by the gram. Ha

Ate here twice. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. Had fish and chips and shrimp and chips. There seemed to be more batter than fish. That was disappointing. Went for breakfast and that was a mistake. Everything was cold (toast, potatoes etc). It was bland. If you donât like the Mexican âbutterâ then avoid the eggs with holindaise. It was horrible but that was our mistake in ordering it. Regardless how we felt about the food the service was outstanding.

After hearing a lot about this restaurant we finally tried it for lunch. Everyone said the hamburger is great. Dining on the Mayan Riviara for 12 years I can say only one hamburger ever got to good in my opinion. The Aventurase grill surpassed my expectation. The Hamburger done perfectly was GREAT. We were staying at Akumal Bay Beach and Wellness Resort and walked to La Buena Vida. It is a truly amazing bar and restaurant. The staff are great and the drinks choice plentiful. The menu is mouth watering and reasonably priced. Highly recommended making the effort to visit. You will not be disappointed.
